Week in photographs #14

Sunday, March 31, 2013

My week has consisted of: snow (again), uni work (again), Pizza Hut pizza, Easter chocolate, depotting eyeshadows, shopping and spring cleaning!

Snow...again, I hate snow! I have been burning/melting my Kringle Candle wax tarts this week, as I wanted a change and I have quite a few of them. I love the vanilla lavender scent, although it can be a little strong. Also, its Easter, so family and friends have been round so that and the cold weather have led to unhealthy eating in the form of a Pizza Hut pizza (Margherita with cream sauce) and a giant milk chocolate Lindt bunny! *drools*

This week has also been spend sorting out clothes, makeup and depotting eye shadows - I have a couple of large Front Cover makeup sets so I cut out all of the eye shadows (which did take ages and resulted in sore fingers) but they are great baked shadows. I am going to buy the 'dome Z palette' soon for them - I probably should have bought the palette first but I was in a cleaning/sorting mood!

Also this week I send my review of the Benefit Fake Up Concealer to Debenhams. I have been using the new Benefit concealer for about two weeks now and I do really like it - although it isn't as amazingly incredible as I thought it would be. Full review coming soon!

I hope you all had a great week and have a nice Easter! x

Makeup Collection: Primers & Concealers!

Friday, March 29, 2013
Firstly, sorry I haven't been posting really, I have been so busy with my dissertation and friends coming over! Anyway here is the second part of my makeup collection (ft Muji acrylic storage drawers). This part of my makeup collection contains my eye and face primers and my concealers (of which I have a fair few)....
Firstly, concealer - I have quite a few concealers (that's a bit of an understatement...). I have quite a few as I am on the quest to find the best concealer for my very dark circles but it has to be very pale like me and it has to be moisturising. I haven't found my perfect concealer yet but here are some of my favourites! I have concealers from Kiko, Revlon, Lierac, Vichy, Loreal, Smashbox and more.

I love the ELF Tone Correcting Concealer (shade: Ivory) as it is super moisturising and it never looks caky or dry, although it only has light coverage. I also really like the MAC Moisturecover Concealer (shade: NW15) as it is similar to the ELF concealer but it has a lot more coverage - however on my dry skin days this concealer can look a bit caky and obvious. My favourite under eye concealer right now has to be the Clinique Airbrush Concealer (shade: 04 neutral fair). I received two travel size ones (gifts with purchase) and I LOVE them! My least favourite concealers have to be the Revlon Photoready and the Kiko Skin Evolution as they are just too drying and caky on my already dry skin. I now also have the Benefit Fake Up Concealer (which I won!) which I will review fully soon!

Now onto primers! These are a mix of face and eyelid primers from Laura Mericer, Too Faced, Elf, Jemma Kidd, Smashbox, Nars, Benefit, Body Shop and Murad. My favourite face primer has to be The Body Shop Moisturise it Primer, it is great for keeping my makeup lasting throughout the day and for keeping my skin looking fresh - LOVE it! I also really like the Laura Mercier Foundation Primer (I think I am going to buy the radiance version from SpaceNK soon). My least Favourite primers include: the Too Faced Shadow Insurance which doesn't work for me and the ELF eyeshadow primers are not great, in my opinion. I also have a full size Smashbox primer (that I have hardly used) which is ok. My favoruite eyeshadow primer has to be the Nars Pro-Primer Smudgeproof Eyeshadow Primer - it is the best eyeshadow primer I have tried (and everything creases on my eyes)!

I am thinking of creating a blog sale soon, comment if you are interested! (UK only).

Week in photographs #14

Monday, March 25, 2013

My week has consisted of: my dissertation, my sisters virtual fake baby, snow, new boots, benefit fake up concealer and sorting out my makeup!

So, I entered to take part in the Debenhams VIP Panel (on their Facebook page, UK) to try out the new Benefit Fake Up Concealer and I was chosen! I asked for the shade 'light' because I am super pale and I have been testing out this concealer for the past few days and I really like it. I was going to buy this when it came out but I don't have to now (very happy bunny). I will post a full review of the Benefit concealer soon. And on a side note, I love the packaging of the actual concealer and the way they wrapped it - adorable!

Ok, it has snowed again in England if you haven't heard (everyone has heard!). I live in north Manchester and I didn't get that much snow and it has all gone now but where I go to university is higher up, near the pennines and it is much worse there - nothing to the extent of the rest of the country though. I hate snow and because of the cold, snowy, windy weather I have eating some cheeky comfort food - I had popcorn (from my Graze box), English muffin pizzas and another krispy Kreme chocolate pecan doughnut yesterday (only 49p at the Tesco checkout for some reason)!

And to add to the misery of the English weather, my sister brought home a virtual (fake) baby from college. It cries (very loudly), it screams, it needs feeding/changing/burping/rocking...it was funny at first but that wore off very quickly - it is safe to say I am not having children! Myself and my sister named it Lena - I just love that name!

This week I made a cheeky order on Newlook and I bought two pairs of ankle boots - the same style but in two different colours - I really didn't need both...I did need both! I love them although the black pair fit smaller/tighter than the tan pair but anyway, I love them with tight and dresses (or maybe a nice pair of fitted trousers, if I can ever find some that I like!). I also bought some things from Topshop, La redoute, the body shop and amazon over the past couple of weeks which I still need to put in a haul post.

Lastly, I have been sorting out my makeup this week. I received another pair of acrylic wide drawers from Muji. I don't even want to think about how much money I have spent on Muji acrylic storage as I have 7 drawers at around £10/11 each (oops) but I adore the drawers. I am in the process of going through my makeup collection and I will create a post on my muji storage too!

Hope you had a great week, sorry for the late week in photographs post again, I have been really busy with uni work.

Makeup Collection: Foundation

Saturday, March 23, 2013
Here is part of my makeup collection - this is a series of posts about my makeup collection, what I have and my favourite products in my collection!
Here are my foundations! I will just list the ones I have and then I will go through my favourites! So I have: a mini Nars sheer glow, Jemma Kidd Pro Finish Moisture Tint, The Body Shop Moisture Foundation, Lancome Teint Miracle, Maybelline Age Rewind 'the eraser' foundation, Illamasqua Light Liquid Foundation, Benefit Hello Flawless. Then in the second drawer I have: Kiko Medium Foundation, Bourjois 10 Hour Sleep Effect, Model co 2 in 1 foundation, Collection Cover and Go (foundation and concealer), Avon Ideal Flawless, Rimmel Lasting Finish, Kiko Anti-Age foundation. And some foundations are not in these drawers as I forgot to put them in and I sorted out these foundations later on. So the other foundations I have that are missing from the photographs include: Shu Uemura Nobara Cream Foundation and the Bourjois Healthy Mix Serum Foundation. I also had the Bourjois brush on foundation which I LOVE but it ran out last year, I will have to get another one!

My favourite foundations from my collection include: Illamasqua Light Liquid Foundation, Jemma Kidd Moisture Tint, Bourjois 10 Hour Sleep Effect and I also really like the Maybelline and Benefit foundations but they are too dark for my very pale skin.

I have a few foundations that are too dark for my very pale skin and some other makeup items that I have sorted out so if you want a blog sale then just leave a comment!

Empties #1

Friday, March 22, 2013
I have posted quite a lot of 'empties' blog posts over the past four months or so but I have been waiting for the end of the month to do my 'monthly empties' but I always have SO many products at the end of the month and sometimes I can't remember what they were like exactly so I am going to do empties posts when I have a good amount of products to show rather than the end of month empties posts. This is the first in a series of posts about the empty products I have used up recently and there will be mini reviews of the products I feature.
1. KMS California Curl Up Conditioner: I bought this last summer as it was reduced at about £4 on salonskincare I think. I have been using this for the past month or so (on and off) and I really like this conditioner. The scent is quite nice, it really conditions my hair without weighing it down and it detangles hair hair (mostly). The main claim of this product thought is to enhance and support curls, I have really wavy/curly hair naturally and I find that this did help a little bit but not as much as I thought it would. Overall, it doesn't help curls that much but it is a fantastic conditioner. Recommended.

2. Yves Rocher Clarifying Shampoo: I bought this last summer and it was on off so I had two bottles of this (buy one get one free). I love the scent, it is so fresh and lovely. Yves Rocher definitely make the best smelling hair products! The shampoo is a really good clarifying product although it did make my scalp quite dry which I didn't like but other than that it was good.

3. The Body Shop Ginger Sparkle Body Butter: I received this in a gift set at christmas and I really like the scent - it smells like ginger/cinnamon muffins. I have used a lot of the body butters from the Body Shop and I love most of them but this one was very thick, heavy and it didn't absorb quickly. I prefer the other body butter! Not recommended.

4. Soap and Glory The Daily Smooth Body Butter: I LOVE S&G products! They smells gorgeous and this one is no exception. The scent is gorgeous, it smooths on easily and it absorbs fairly quickly. However, it is not my favourite body butter by far! I probably wouldn't buy this again as it is not amazing.

5. Lush Let The Good Times Roll Facial Cleanser: This product is a Christmas limited edition but you may be able to find this on eBay. The cleanser smells amazing! It smells like toffee, baking and vanilla - heaven! The cleanser was exfoliating but gentle and it cleaned my skin well leaving it smooth, soft and comfortable. Love this cleanser and I may buy it again this Christmas. Save your empty Lush pots/tubes as you can get a free face mask if you take back five empty containers (unfortunately I keep forgetting)!

6. Boots Botanics Fair trade Bergamot Body Butter: I have tried a few mini body butters from this range and they are all great! I like the scent of them all and they smooth on easily. They moisturise really well and they absorb fairly quickly - LOVE!

Its snowing today (again)!

Wish List #2

Thursday, March 21, 2013
Another wish list, I posted one a few weeks ago and I bough one of the things straight away - striped jumper featured in one of my outfit of the day posts. I thought I would create another wish list post because there are some makeup and clothing items I have been drooling over for the past couple of weeks.

1. H&M Speckled cardigan: I saw this online and I had it in my bag for about one week and I kept delaying buying it and now it is out of stock online - I will have to look out for it in store!

2. Revlon Nude/mannequin collection: These are available online on Boots now - I haven't seen them in store yet but I will have to pick up one or two - I LOVE nude nails. The Revlon colorstay polishes have really good reviews.

3. Urban Decay Theodora Palette: As soon as I saw this on Debenhams, I really wanted to get it. But I convinced myself (very successfully, go me!) that I had enough palettes to stock a shop! I have watched a few video reviews and tutorials of this palette (eg: Pixiwoo) and it looks fantastic.

4. Revlon BB Cream: Revlon have been on the top of their game recently - I bought some of Revlons new products at the weekend. I haven't had a great track record with BB creams but this one looks great. Also love the packaging.

5. Benefit Fake Up Concealer: So many good reviews of this product - it looks amazing and as I am a concealer hoarder...well, a makeup hoarder! (I was picked to test this concealer - Debenhams beauty club VIP Panel! So I get it for free, hopefully it will arrive today!)

6. H&M Striped Jumper: Yet another gorgeous jumper from H&M - LOVE H&M jumpers and stripes so this is a winner for me.

Review: Clinique High Impact Waterproof Mascara!

Wednesday, March 20, 2013
After I posted my haul from Clinique, featuring this product, I had a lot of comments asking for a review of this mascara - so here it is!
First Impressions

My first impressions of this product were really disappointing! The packaging looks really old fashioned in my opinion. The mascara bristles are natural and not plastic which I like. It applied SO much mascara the first time which really weighed down my lashes with tonnes of mascara - it looked awful!

Application and results
Since having this mascara for about two weeks now, I have learned to apply this mascara so that it doesn't smother/weigh down my lashes so much. I find that I have to apply the mascara lightly otherwise it will apply far too much product. Apply lightly with only one coat and it will look quite natural but defined, lengthened and slightly volumised. The mascara is really black and it is a quite 'wet' formula. Once applied lightly I do like the effects, however I find that it can clump easily. I use my Shu Uemura lash curlers before this product and I find that this mascara doesn't help hold the curl and the mascara can flake off through out the day.

Positives: Nice effects when applied lightly - length, definition and some volume. Also it is really black. Waterproof.

Negatives: Not very cheap. Can clump. Can flake off through out the day. Doesn't hold a curl that well. Applies a lot of product if applied normally!

SpaceNK Haul: ByTerry, Lipstick Queen and Shu Uemura

Tuesday, March 19, 2013
I made two cheeky orders from SpaceNK and in my defence all of the products I bought were in the sale! Although I should be saving up for my holiday in August...oops...Anyway here are the three things I bought from the SpaceNK online sale!
The first thing I bought was a cream compact foundation from Shu   Uemura - it is the Shu Uemura Nobara foundation in the shade 584. I have tried it a few times since this haul and I really like this product. The shade is a fantastic match for me - especially at this time of year when I am paler than pale. I have used this product with my real techniques expert face brush - it applies this cream compact foundation so well. The foundation applies smoothly and it has good coverage but on the drier areas of my skin it can cling to those areas. However it is great if I use a lot of moisturiser and primer before this - it would be great for the summer. A great little compact, I think I will be taking it on holiday with me in the summer (although I am going to Russia and Scandinavia so it wont be hot!).
here is a set that i bought from Lipstick Queen. The set is the Dancing Queen Trio and it contains three full size lipsticks, in the shades, 'the hustle', 'cha cha' and 'electric slide'. The shades are really nice and I adore the packaging! However, the shades are wearable but they do contain quite a lot of shimmer in them.
by terry blush rosy nude is my last purchase from SpaceNK. The only shade available was 'rosy nude' and I didn't know what it was going to be like as I couldn't find any swatches online for this product. Firstly, love the packaging - there is a mirror on the lid, the brush is smooth and it pops up when you twist the packaging open.
Here is the packaging, the brush pops up and the blush/powder is in the lid. This product is labelled as a powder, a mineral foundation but I can't use this as either because it is very very pink. I have been using this as a natural pinky blush.
Here is a swatch of the 'blush', it is a gorgeous natural rosy pink - it looks darker in 'real life'. The blush applies incredibly smoothly and it blends very easily and naturally. Although the brush can apply the blush a little bit too heavily than I would have liked.

New Releases From Revlon!

Sunday, March 17, 2013
I noticed some new Revlon products on the Superdrug site so I went in to a Superdrug store yesterday and I found some new Revlon products that I had never seen before (well I saw the lipstick on American bloggers sites but never in the UK). I bought three things as they were having a 3 for 2 on all Revlon products in store.
The first product I bought is the Revlon Photoready Skinlights Face Illuminator in the shade 200 Pink Light (30ml). I saw this online and I knew I wanted to try it but I didn't know what I would look like without going into a store. The tester for this product wouldn't open so I bought it not knowing what it would look like. I was really surprised when I tried it on the back of my hand in the car that it is very very pink - it is a metallic pink shade! It looks a hell of a lot pinker in 'real life' than in the photograph above. I have pink undertones in my skin and this was the only one I could get as there was also a bronze one. Despite the very pink metallic look of the illuminator I like it so far. I have tried it on the back of my hand and it looks like a gorgeous slightly pinky sheen, it isn't as metallic pink when blended. Overall, I like the packaging (twist the lid, don't pull) and it looks pretty so far but we will see.
The second item I bought was the new Revlon Colorstay Ultimate Suede Lipstick in the shade Socialite 025. I had a difficult time choosing which shade to buy and all of the 'testers' had stickers over them so you couldn't open the testers! I picked the one that looked the most natural but it turned out to be a bright rosy pink which is a lot brighter, lighter and pinker than I thought it would be - a bit of a shocker but I have tried it on my lips twice and I love the application, the shade makes my complexion look a lot freshers and the wear is fantastic! Full review soon (Spoilers: I will have to get some more of these!)
The last item, which was free as it was 3 for 2, was the new Revlon Colorstay Concealer in the shade 02 Light Pale. I could have gone with the lighter shade but they didn't have it in store, this was the lightest available at the time. I used the Revlon Colorstay Foundation in the shade 'buff' for at least a year and I loved it (the dry skin version) so I thought I would love this. But I am not that impressed, it has good coverage (light to medium) and it blends nicely but it is a bit caky under my eyes. In hindsight I should have picked up two of the lipsticks instead of the concealer as I love the formula of the lipsticks but I didn't know I would love them. Overall, may be skip this concealer and just get the lipsticks!

*Firmoo Glasses

Saturday, March 16, 2013
I was contacted by Firmoo to review a pair of their glasses so I accepted. Firmoo is an online global optical store, they sell fashion glasses (non prescription), prescription glasses and sun glasses. They ship worldwide! I picked a pair of glasses which are the 'black clear glasses' (frame number: CP6061). They were priced at $46 and express shipping was $18.75 - I didn't pay anything for these glasses though (however my opinion is still my own). Here are the glasses!
I made my order on the 9th March and they arrived on the 15th March! I didn't know which glasses to pick and the photographs of others who bought the glasses really help in deciding which ones to get.Very quick delivery and the glasses came with a glasses case, pouch and mini screw driver. I love the look of the glasses and they fit SO well! I thought they would be quite big as it is a one size fits all, but they fit very well and they feel really comfortable. I wore glasses from the age for 15 to 17 (then I started using contact lenses) and these are definitely the most comfortable pair of glasses I have had. They are prescription, I just had to enter my prescription details and I can see clearly with these glasses. Overall, I couldn't be happier with these glasses! I have posted a face and outfit of the day featuring these glasses too - link here

Firmoo are offering a first pair free program where you can get an pair of glasses (prescription, non prescription or sunglasses) for free! You just have to pay shipping. Here is a link to more information about the free glasses deal. Also if you don't know how the glasses will look on you, Firmoo have a visual try on system where you can upload a photograph of your self to try on the glasses virtually.

Follow my blog with Bloglovin
Here is my makeup for the day, featuring my Firmoo glasses that I received today (full review coming soon). This FOTD (face of the day) also features some of the new makeup products I received over the past two weeks.
1. Maybelline Watershine Lip Gloss (shade Frozen Watermelon): My mum bought this for me a couple of weeks ago and I really like it. It is a gorgeous pinky peach shade which looks very pretty on the lips. It applies well, it makes the lips look glossy and fuller. Although the smell/taste is not nice at all, in my opinion.

2. The Body Shop Moisture Foundation (shade 02): I bought this a few days ago and I have only tried it twice but I do like it so far. It matches me well, it applies well with my Cosmo sponge and it is quite dewy looking on the skin. Full review after I have tried it more.

3. Laura Geller Inkwell Waterproof Liner (Black): I received this in my March Birch Box a couple of days ago. I love the brush in the lid and this liner is just so quick and easy to apply which is why I am reaching for this product again.

4. Collection 200 Lipstick (shade tea rose): I bought this from Morrisons about a week ago. It applies well and it is just a pretty, fresh everyday shade. It is easy to wear and works with everything!

5. Kiehls Ultra Facial Cream: This is a sample that I had in my Selfridges beauty advent calendar. I have been using it for about a week and I really like it - it doesn't irritate my skin, even though my eczema has flared up for the past two weeks. Moisturising but light and it smoothes the skin quickly and easily.

6. Cosmopolitan Beauty Sponge: I have gone though about five or six of these foundation sponges and I just love them. As my eczema has been a pain for the past two weeks I have only been able to use this damp sponge to apply my foundation - love it.
Here is the results of my makeup and here are my new glasses from Firmoo. I received my glasses yesterday and I LOVE them! They fit so well and they are prescription! Cannot recommend these glasses enough and the delivery was very quick - full review coming soon.
And finally my outfit of the day (OOTD) featuring my Firmoo glasses and my new Topshop sale jeans. I bought the jeans from the online Topshop sale last week and they arrived a couple of days ago - very happy with them and they were only £25 which is cheap for Topshop jeans. My top is from newlook and my ballet pumps are from La Redoute - in the sale.

Birch Box: March 2013

Thursday, March 14, 2013
Here is what I received in my March Birchbox. The birch box beauty box subscription is £10 (+postage) each month and in my opinion it is definitely worth the money! I have read a couple of blog posts about this box, before I received my box, and some people received a beauty blender in their box - so while I was opening my box I was chanting 'please let there be a beauty blender in the box, please let there be a beauty blender in the box'! Unfortunately I didn't get one in mine but this is what I received!
1. Sanctuary Spa 30 Day Thermal Transformation Duo: I have received this a couple of times before in beauty boxes and I haven't used any of them as my skin does not get along with Sanctuary skincare so I will be giving this to my auntie again. This is one of the beauty extras with this box.

2. Yu-Be Moisturising Skin Cream: This product is apparently one of the best selling skincare products in Japan since 1957. It is yellow in colour and I have only used it once/twice on my lips and it is a really nice product. It can also be used on the face and other dry areas.

3. Molton Brown Valbonne Fragrance: I tried this yesterday and I really like this fragrance, it is a bit unusual. To me it smells like a musky floral scent - I know that sounds really generic but this perfume is very unique! It smells so elegant, mysterious and a little bit old fashion but I really like this scent.

4. La Sultane De Saba: I tried this body lotion last night after a shower and I really like this product! It smells quite herbal, musky and unique. The body lotion has a very smooth silky texture and it applies really well. It absorbs incredibly quickly. The scent and using this product makes me think of a arabian evening or something like spices/herbs from the middle east!

5. Laura Geller Inkwell Waterproof Gel Liner: I tried this yesterday and it is great (although not as good as my Clinique gel liner). The liner is very black, the brush is in the lid so it applies easily and quickly and it is just so easy to use.

6. Lindt Heart Tin Filled with chocolate truffles: This is another extra with this box. I do love lindt chocolates but I am going to give these to my sister.

7. RMK Cleansing Balm: I was excited to received this in my box, I have been loving my Boots cleansing balm for the past two/three weeks so I am excited to try a new one. It smells of roses which is really nice.

Overall, a great box I especially love the RMK Cleansing Balm, The body lotion and Laura Geller liner. But I am disappointed that I didn't received a beauty blender. Are you subscribed to BirchBox, if you are what dis you get?

Lip Treatment Collection

Monday, March 11, 2013
Here is my lip treatment/lip scrub collection! Some of the items, I haven't used but others I can give mini reviews.

1. Fresh Sugar Rose Lip Treatment: I received this lip treatment in the first Birchbox (Janurary) and I have been using it occassionally, not as much as I would like because I don't want to use it all up. This lip treatment comes in a stick form, it just looks like a tinted lip balm but it is really hydrating and this product doesn't transfer a lot of colour to my lips, which is a bit disappointing. Overall, a really nice product but it isn't available really in the UK unless you buy it from eBay or your go to the Fresh store in London - also it is quite expensive!

2. Jouer Lip Enhancer Lip Treatment: I received this mini sample with an order from Cult Beauty (before christmas, code needed) and I have only used it once but it is a really nice lip treatment/balm. It has a slight fresh, rosy floral scent which isn;t strong at all. The treatment is smooth and it makes my lips soft, smooth and hydrated.

3. Lush Popcorn Lip Scrub: I have already created a full blog post confessing my love for this product (link here to the full review). This lip scrub is fantastic, it really smoothes and exfoliates my lips. It doesn't taste nice though and this one isn't available anymore as it was a christmas limited edition product.

4. Duwop Lip Venom: This is my second mini tube of this lip plumper and I know there is quite a lot of hype around it but I really don't see that much difference. Now plumping but it does really really tingle my lips, to a point where is hurts - not recommended.

5. ELF Lip Exfoliator: I bought this a few months ago and I really like this product - it is more convenient to use than the Lush lip scrub but I find it isn't as exfoliating as the Lush lip scrub. A good product, recommended.

6. Beauty Fixation Tinted Lip Conditioner: I bought this pack from latestinbeauty.com as it was only £1 but I haven't use it just. It looks promising though.

I will need these product now, as it has started to snow again in England. It snowed so much in about 15 minutes, I was stood outside getting very snowy! Hopefully it wont last!

Week in photographs #12

Sunday, March 10, 2013
Coffee....Sorting out my skincare....Maid Marion Wig!
FOTD....Sunset....Krispy Kreme Chocolate Pecan Doughnut
New (free) makeup items....Spacenk samples....New phone
Aunties Birthday Meal....Indian Food....OOTE with my sister
My week has consisted of: Coffee, University assignment deadlines, New makeup bits, Sale shopping, eBay shopping, Indian food and Krispy Kreme doughnuts! Firstly, uni deadlines, I have meetings on Mondays with my dissertation adviser and I had a 4000 word essay deadline on Wednesday which was not stressful at all...(it was)!

Anyway, university aside, I have been doing some cheeky shopping this week but I think it is completely justified because they were all sale items (mostly...). I bought a 'new' phone from eBay, it is the Blackberry 9360 and I love it! I also made an order from Spacenk (haul post coming soon) and I received three samples, two of which were from the very expensive (but apparently amazing) brand Eve Lom. I also received some Loreal makeup this week from my mum - there was a fare at my primary school and she got me a couple of makeup sets!

This week I have been obsessed with Krispy Kreme doughnuts, I have gone through three this week! I haven't tried them before this week but now I love them. I never eat sweet things really and I hardly eat chocolate/sweets but these are gorgeous. I had two of the chocolate pecan ones which are amazing but they are a bit expensive. Speaking of gorgeous food, I went to an Indian restaurant last night with the family (my parents, sister and aunties). I do love Indian food, there is so much of it in Britain. We went to Karims restaurant in Bowlee. Also as you can see from my outfit of the evening, I bought the stripy jumper I wanted from the New look sale (it is featured in my wish list, link here).

Collective Haul: Morrisons, Kurt Geiger and Ojon!

Saturday, March 09, 2013
Here is a collective haul of things that I have bought over the past couple of weeks, some are sale items and others are new season products or full price items. I made a cheeky order on Ojon, Kurt Geiger and I bought some sale products from SpaceNK (which you will see in another haul). I also bought a couple of things from Morrisons.
Firstly, the two items from Morrisons (a food/home store in the UK). They have a couple of makeup stands in the one I go to and they were having a promotion, two collection 2000 products for £5. So naturally I bought two things, I bought the Soft Matte Lip Cream in the shade 'angel delight' which is a really nice pinky browny nude - it looks lighter in colour when applied to the lips and blended. I love the colour but I am not too keen on the formula, I find it slips and slides on the lips, it doesn't stay put too well. I then bought a lipstick in the shade 'tea rose' which is a really nice peachy pink nude shade - great for everyday wear!
Now Kurt Geiger, last month I received a free kurt geiger gift card (worth £20) from an Elle magazine - I lOVE magazine freebies! You can only spend it on full price items. I bought a black fake leather card holder which I thought looked really sleek and expensive. It is priced at £12 and I chose next day delivery (£7.95) so I spent all of my gift card and this item and delivery was free!
Finally, Ojon! I bought the full size Damage Reverse Restorative Conditioner (250ml, £21). I had the mini size and I loved it so I bought the big size. I had a offer code for a free mini oil and I also received two 30ml Volume Advance shampoo/conditioner which is great - who doesn't love freebies! I can't wait to start using the conditioner and I think I will take the minis with me on holiday in august.
Here is a close up of the Rare Blend Oil that I received for free! I used the code RARE at the checkout and this was added! It might only work for UK orders though. The oil looks amazing and I can't wait to try it.

Mini Clinique Haul

On wednesday this week I received my order from Clinique. I purchased their new High Impact Waterproof Mascara which I was excited to try and I only buy waterproof mascaras. I had a code for a free travel size Airbrush Concealer (which I adore) so I made a cheeky order.
I received the Clinique Waterproof High Impact Mascara in Black, the Clinique Airbrush Concealer in the shade 04 and I picked two samples: the Clinique Take the day of makeup remover and the Clinique pore refining serum which I haven't tried before. I was surprised at how large the tube was for the sample serum, I thought it would be a sachet.
Here is the new mascara, it is the lastest mascara from Clinique I believe and here are my first impressions. I don't like the look of the packaging, I think it looks old fashioned but I do like that the bristles on the wand as they are not plastic. I tried this for the first time on wednesday and I applied it to my lashes straight from the tube as you would with any other mascara and it applied SO MUCH mascara to my lashes that they were caked and smothered in mascara which was horrible! I used the same wand for the other eye, I didn't put it pack in the tube to pick up more product, and it worked fine then but the initial swipe applied so much mascara! So a disappointing start but I will have to use it more to review it fully.

January & February Favourites!

Tuesday, March 05, 2013
Here are my January favourites first, I know it is very late but I wanted to fit my January and February favourites together.
1. Laura Mercier Lip Glace (Sweetheart): Firstly a gorgeous lip gloss from Laura Mercier. I am usually a lipstick kind of girl but since I bought an amazing value Laura Mercier set (£12 in the spaceNK sale, link here to my haul). The colour is gorgeous on the lips, it make my lips look fuller and smooth - it glosses over dry areas so well. Love it!

2. Simple Rich Moisturiser: I have been using this moisturiser for years, I have gone through about five bottles of this stuff - I love it although if my skin is dry then I will use another moisturiser but this is great for everyday, especially in the summer.

3. Kiko Anti-age foundation: I received a Kiko package on Christmas eve and this was one of the things I ordered. I have been using it on and off since then, as I have been trying out other foundations but I do really like this product. I have the shade '01 peach rose' which is not my perfect shade but it is quite good. It is so smooth and silky and it applies really well. If you want a fill review of this product, or any of the products featured, just leave a comment!

4. Clinique Airbrush Concealer: I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this concealer! I received this as it was a free gift with purchase and I adore this product. I illuminates and covers really well - although it doesn't cover my dark circles completely (nothing will do that!) but it is a fantastic concealer!
Here are my favourites for the month of February!

1. ELF Tone Correcting Concealer: I have been switching between the Clinique air brush concealer and the ELF concealer this month. I love the clinique concealer and I love this. The elf concealer has very light coverage but it is really moisturising! And the shade is a fantastic match for my paler than pale skin tone!

2. Real Techniques Expert Face Brush: I have bee using this brush for my foundations for the past four months or so I love this brush. The paddle shape allows foundation to glide on so quickly and easily and it blends so well.

3. Vichy Eau Thermale: I received this in my Birchbox this month and I have been using it ever since! I have been using this as a toner and as a setting spray. I find that if my makeup looks a bit caky or if it has emphasised some dryness, then a good spray or this onto my makeup and it really help!

4. Illamasqua Blush Brush: I love this brush, it is quite expensive at around £28 but it is worth it! It makes applying contour and bronzer so quick and easy. The bristles are very smooth and soft. It is the perfect shape, thickness and density for contouring.

5. Clinique AirBrush Concealer: Again this is in my favourite for the month of January and February I have been liking this although I do find that if you apply too much then it can look a bit caky.

6. Yves Rocher Sexy Plump Mascara: A favourite mascara of the moment and possible of all time! I love this mascara, I received the sample tube from a beauty box I think and loved it from the first time I used it. It makes my lashes look fuller, longer, black but natural. Love it, I wish they made a waterproof version though, then I could use it daily!

Magazine Freebies: April

Sunday, March 03, 2013
I went to Morrisons yesterday to look at the magazines (I came out with a lot more than just one magazine!) and I noticed that a lot of magazines had great freebies! I only pick up one magazine that had a freebie and that was Glamour Magazine.
The freebies within Glamour Magazine for the month for April (magazines are always a month ahead) were hair products from Percy and Reed which have been freebies for Glamour Magazine before. I picked the 'Percy and Reed Volumising No Oil Hair Oil'. I haven't tried a volumising hair oil before! I think I might have to get the shampoo and conditioner too.
I did look a bit weird taking a photograph of a magazine stand in Morrisons (Food store) but I had to!

The freebie with Cosmopolitan Magazine were Elemis minis! There are three Elemis mini to choose from: a facial moisturiser for dry skin, a facial moisturiser for normal/combination skin and a thirst quenching lip balm.

The freebie included with Marie Claire Magazine was the Neals Yard Bee/Honey Hand creme - I can't remember exactly what it was called but I was so tempted to get this magazine just for the hand creme and I think I will have to go back and get it! The hand creme was a really generous size too, I think it was 30ml.

New Lacoste perfume rollerball - free!
Healthy eating // Topshop sale buys // should I cut my hair?
Marks and Spencer Cheap Bargains!
Sunset // Country roads
FOTD // Space NK buys // Cute Topshop necklace
My week has consisted of university work (yes, again), a shopping trip to Bury, Marks and Spencer food goodies, freebies and the possibility of cutting all of my hair off (well, into a bob)! Firstly, uni work, it is almost constant and I have a lot of deadlines soon so I have been typing non stop! Also I received a card in the post about graduation which made me really nervous!

This week myself, sister and my dad went on a little shopping trip to Bury (The Rock) and you can see the Primark goodies we bought here. We also bought some Marks and Spencer vegetarian goodies and some deserts which were only 80p each! When we went to Bury we went into Topshop and I saw this adorable glasses and moustache necklace.

I received a sale order from Topshop this week, just some knickers/panties and a bar of the Dr Bronners Magic Soap. I also received an order from Space NK which contained my birthday present from my sister (my birthday is in August but I am too organised!) I picked the diptyque Do Son fragrance which is the 100ml EDT which should have been £68 but it was reduced to £25 in the sale. I was surprised to find a large roller ball of the new Lacoste fragrance in the post, but it was from a Facebook thing I entered and I received the large roller ball fragrance - I love freebies! I made a cheeky Ojon, Clinique and SpaceNK order is week so there will be a collective haul in the next week!

Lastly, my hair dilemma! I was going to get a full fringe and a lot of people said that I should but I am still unsure as my graduation is in a few months and I don't want to hate my hair during graduation. But I have been thinking about getting it cut shorter again, my hair is currently down to my waist (and then some). I got my hair cut in August last year and since then it has grown about 4 inches, I know this because my roots were that long!

What do you think? Shorter bob hair or a full fringe?

Wish List #1

Friday, March 01, 2013
Here is my current wish list, with clothing, accessories, makeup and games that I have been obsessing over for the past couple of weeks and I really want to buy them all!
Above images from: Urban outfitters, New Look, Superdrug and Play.com
1. Urban Outfitters Cobalt Persian Eternity Scarf: I have wanted this snood for at least two weeks and I haven't bought it yet but I think I will have to...look how gorgeous it is! It is £16 with my student discount. I think it would look great with a plain white or grey top and jeans.

2. New Look Stripe Jumper: This is a sale item and it has been in stock for about a week, I keep almost buying it but I have a lot of stripy tops already...but whats one more! I think I am going to get this, especially as it is on sale and..gorgeous.

3. New Look Charcoal Over sized Knitted Top: again another new look sale jumper, I love it! I think I'm going to Newlook tomorrow so I will have to look out for this.

4. Revlon Nearly Naked Foundation: At first I didn't want this as I read a review that said it clung to dry patches but this product has been in so my peoples favourites videos and posts recently so I think I will have to get it - in Superdrug it is on offer for £6.99.

5. Tomb Radier, Xbox 360: I loved the original Tomb Raider PC games which I had when I was a teenager. This game was being released it did excite the geeky gamer in me - its an origins game, so how Lara became the way she is. It has received a lot of good reviews but I will have to wait for the price to go down before I buy it as it is around the £35 mark.

What is on your wish list?
