My Muji storage

Tuesday, December 03, 2013
I have spent quite a lot of money, over a few months, on Muji acrylic drawers - I buy the wide two draw clear acrylic drawers (£10.95 each), I also have one or two of the flip top versions as they didn't have the normal ones in stock at the time. I have one of the desk organisers too and I love the Muji storage for my makeup, I wouldn't want to use anything else, even though it is expensive!
Firstly, the drawers - the name of these drawers on the Muji website is 'Acrylic Box 2 Drawers Wide'. I have 7 sets of these drawers - that's a lot of money spent on makeup storage! But I have bought these over the past 8 months or so. I love these 2 drawer sets from Muji, they are clear so you can see what is inside of them and they are a great size. I can fit palettes, lipsticks, eyeliners, foundations and concealer etc in these drawers. I organise them into sections for example, I have one draw for concealer, then another for lip balms (I am a lip balm addict!). I have two drawers for lipstick, palettes and two drawers also for foundations. A few items do not fit in the drawers so I keep them in a clear plastic box that I stole from our kitchen cupboard! Also extra makeup items that do not fit as my drawer are all pretty much full, go in a gorgeous vintage rose patterned box I received for my birthday.

I also have a desk organiser from Muji that I use to store my makeup brushes, eyelash curler, scissors, hair grips etc but sadly I can't find the one I have on the Muji website anymore but there are similar items - mine was priced at around £8. It is a great size for storing makeup brushes and I love to two smaller/shorter sections at the front to store smaller items. I find all of the muji drawers/items to be very high quality, they stack together nicely and they are really sturdy, durable and easy to wipe clean.

Finally, I have a jewellery storage box from Muji that I thought I would mention. It is the 'Acrylic Jewellery Case 2 Drawers' which is £13.95. I don't have too much jewellery but I store all of my rings and earrings in this two draw set and the dividers in the drawers can be moved around. I keep my other larger items that will not fit in this small box in a loccitane box I received as a gift with purchase. Anyway, I love my Muji storage for most of my makeup, small items and jewellery. I think they are available in the US and other parts of europe, postage in the UK is around £2.95 and I find their delivery to be quick and fuss free. I would definitely recommend Muji storage!

What do you think of my makeup/jewellery storage and what do you store your makeup in? x

The Beauty Blogger Tag

Wednesday, September 04, 2013
Here are my answers to the 'beauty blogger tag', I don't think it is that well known but I thought that it would be fun to do and it makes a nice change. I was tagged by Emily at Ahem, its Emily to do this tag.
1. Name a beauty routine you barely do.
Tanning or using gradual tan - I am a bit of a stranger to tanning although I am trying to get into it.

2. Is washing your makeup brushes something you do regularly?
I try and wash my makeup brushes every two weeks, although I do forget and sometimes my brushes do not get washed for about three weeks. I washed my makeup brushes yesterday and it is a little time consuming if you wash them thoroughly but it needs to be done.

3. How long will you last with chipped nail polish?
I can last for a while with chipped nail polish if I am at home for the week but if I am going out shopping, visiting people or at uni/events then I will have to reapply my nail polish once it is chipped slightly.

4. How long do you put off buying/replacing a beauty product even if you need it (i.e., top coat, foundation and so on)?
I do stock up on certain products, especially bath/body products but when something does run out and I want it, it usually depends on the price. If it is cheap then I will buy it in the next few days but if it is a bit pricey like the Caudalie Beauty Elixir then it can take a few weeks for me to buy it again.

5. What is your worst beauty habit?
Not applying face and hair masks regularly. My skin is a bit temperamental and sensitive so I try not to use too many products but I do neglect hair and face masks.

6. Name something non-beauty related that you put off doing all the time.
Putting new clothes away.

7. When going out somewhere, do you leave getting ready until the last minute or not?
I try to be ready an hour or so before but knowing me I will be rushing at the last minute doing final checks.

8. Can you commit to spending bans?
NO! I am not good at not spending....I love shopping, it makes me happy. Although obviously I only buy things I need or really want. I do cut down my spending at certain times but I don't like the idea of a spending ban at all!

9. How organised is your makeup and nail polish collections?
My makeup and nail polish is really quite organised I think. I use the Muji two drawer acrylic storage for all of my makeup which keeps everything neat - I am going to create a blog post soon on my Muji makeup storage because in my opinion it is the best storage for makeup.

10. What is the longest time you've gone without writing a blog post?
Maybe one week at the most but I usually try to publish three or more blog posts per week but it just depends on reviewing times, deliveries and personal things.

Week in photographs #14

Monday, March 25, 2013

My week has consisted of: my dissertation, my sisters virtual fake baby, snow, new boots, benefit fake up concealer and sorting out my makeup!

So, I entered to take part in the Debenhams VIP Panel (on their Facebook page, UK) to try out the new Benefit Fake Up Concealer and I was chosen! I asked for the shade 'light' because I am super pale and I have been testing out this concealer for the past few days and I really like it. I was going to buy this when it came out but I don't have to now (very happy bunny). I will post a full review of the Benefit concealer soon. And on a side note, I love the packaging of the actual concealer and the way they wrapped it - adorable!

Ok, it has snowed again in England if you haven't heard (everyone has heard!). I live in north Manchester and I didn't get that much snow and it has all gone now but where I go to university is higher up, near the pennines and it is much worse there - nothing to the extent of the rest of the country though. I hate snow and because of the cold, snowy, windy weather I have eating some cheeky comfort food - I had popcorn (from my Graze box), English muffin pizzas and another krispy Kreme chocolate pecan doughnut yesterday (only 49p at the Tesco checkout for some reason)!

And to add to the misery of the English weather, my sister brought home a virtual (fake) baby from college. It cries (very loudly), it screams, it needs feeding/changing/burping/rocking...it was funny at first but that wore off very quickly - it is safe to say I am not having children! Myself and my sister named it Lena - I just love that name!

This week I made a cheeky order on Newlook and I bought two pairs of ankle boots - the same style but in two different colours - I really didn't need both...I did need both! I love them although the black pair fit smaller/tighter than the tan pair but anyway, I love them with tight and dresses (or maybe a nice pair of fitted trousers, if I can ever find some that I like!). I also bought some things from Topshop, La redoute, the body shop and amazon over the past couple of weeks which I still need to put in a haul post.

Lastly, I have been sorting out my makeup this week. I received another pair of acrylic wide drawers from Muji. I don't even want to think about how much money I have spent on Muji acrylic storage as I have 7 drawers at around £10/11 each (oops) but I adore the drawers. I am in the process of going through my makeup collection and I will create a post on my muji storage too!

Hope you had a great week, sorry for the late week in photographs post again, I have been really busy with uni work.
