Anthropologie Wish List

Sunday, November 30, 2014
Oh Anthropologie how I love you. I would love yo buy every single item from Anthropologie but these are my top wish list picks currently. To see my full wish list just look at all of the items on the website.

1. Claro Satchel (£178): This bag doesn't need a reason to be bought, it is just heaven.

2. Snowball Fete Garland (£36): How pretty is this garland, it is perfect for the festive season and winter. It looks so cosy and homely but simple. It would be great on the mantle piece with some little creamy fairy lights!

3. Tinted Lip Treatment (£12): It is not just the house and home section and accessories section of Anthropologie that I love, the beauty section is pretty gorgeous too. The lip treatments, not only sound fantastic but they look like they belong on pinterest. They are three shades to choose from.

4. Handpainted Wanderlust Globe (multi, £178): I have wanted a globe for my bedroom for a while and I think I have found the one...to bad it is a tad expensive! I think everyone will agree that this globe is is so pretty and I have to say it would make an amazing christmas gift.

5. Double Latte Candle (£16): Sadly the double latte scent doesn't seem to be available - with Anthropolgie I find that you have to order as soon as you see something otherwise in a couple of days it could be unavailable. The candle also comes in the scents: biscuit and berries and tea and sympathy.

There is my very short wish list for Anthropologie, it could have been so much bigger and in my head it is. I love everything from Anthropologie and I amy go a little mad in the boxing day sales.

What do you think of the items I have picked? What Anthopologie items are on your wish list?

Natural World Caffeine Power Hair Serum

Saturday, November 29, 2014
Since I was around 14 years old my hair has always been very thick which is great (and frizzy which is not so great) but it also seems to fall out quite a lot and has done since I was around 14. Since I've always had this issue and my hair is still really thick, I never worried or thought about it really until the past couple of months as it has been falling out a lot more. I think it is due to stress, worry and not the healthiest diet ever but I wanted to do all that I could to try to tackle the issue.

I was kindly sent the *Natural World Caffeine Power Energising & Stimulating Hair Serum (£4.99, 200ml). It claims to energise and awaken the scalp and keep the follicles open and clear to provide the ideal conditions for natural, healthy hair growth. The serum contains green coffee extract, a multi-vitamin complex and menthol. I've been using this hair serum on and off for almost two months and I think it really helps!

The consistency of the serum is quite fluid and runny but it is so convenient to apply thanks to the small nozzle which makes dispensing the serum directly onto the scalp very easy, quick and mess free. The serum smells really nice too, like menthol but not too strong or overpowering and its quite pleasant to use. Also light scalp massage can promote hair growth too. The serum is suitable for daily use and for sensitive scalps; I've been using it approximately three/four times a week.

The serum doesn't make my hair look or feel sticky or greasy although if you apply too much in one area then it can harden but otherwise it isn't very noticeable on my dark hair. At least once a week I have been applying the serum to my scalp then a hair mask to the mid lengths and ends of my hair and leave it all on for the day. I find it does feel refreshing and actually when washed out it leaves my hair fairly soft/smooth and clean.

I feel as though my scalp is refreshed and it does seems to help with hair growth to an extent. I find that since I've been using it my hair is a bit thicker even though I am still loosing hair occasionally. Even though I've been using it for quite a while, the bottle is still full; I think that one bottle will last for a long time!

Overall, I am noticing results to an extent and the main positives from this serum is that it doesn't smell medicated, it is so quick/easy to apply and it doesn't look very noticeable on my scalp. Also the price is fantastic, especially as you only need a small amount and one bottle will last for quite a while, in my opinion. Definitely worth a try! Overall rating: ★★★★☆, 4/5.

Black Friday Deals, Offers + Codes (UK)

Thursday, November 27, 2014
As always, the UK is copying the US but this time it is a very good thing! Black friday is a massive crazy sale day in america and it is the day after thanksgiving. As well as black friday there are usually deals over the weekend and onto Cyber Monday too which is an online version of black friday. Here are all of the black friday deals, codes and offers I can find for UK sites although there will be a lot more I can't find!

Oh and zara home will be having 20% off too! I hope Lush and Anthropologie have black fridays deals on too - apparently the black friday and cyber mondays sales in the UK are going to be bigger and more popular than the boxing day sales!

Christmas Gifts: Snapfish Personalised Gifts

Monday, November 24, 2014
I have never really liked personalised items/gifts until recently so when I saw the campaign/opportunity to work with Snapfish by HP on Bloggers Required, I jumped at the chance and luckily I was accepted. If you don't have the website Bloggers Required as a bookmark, then you need to! I was kindly given a code to use on the website and these are all of the items I made/purchased with the code.

Firstly, I found the process of uploading my photos, creating collages and items really simple and easy; the photos didn't take too long to upload and they all turned out so well, even if the photographs were not the highest quality to begin with! I chose a 2015 calendar, a notebook, a mug and two christmas cards all of which came to less than £40 including delivery which I think is fantastic!

The first item I made on the website was the *Snapfish Classic 11' by 8.5" Wall Calendar (from £14.99). The background can be changed, I chose the Joy of Seasons background. Instead of adding individual photographs to the calendar, I made a college and added it as one large photo which worked really well. The photo quality is fantastic, they are sharp and as crisp as they were when I took them which I am so impressed by as I thought they might be a bit stretched or pixelated but they aren't.

Next up are the two christmas cards, I made one for my grandad and one for my sister. I love the christmas card designs! Some of the card can be bought individually but others can only be purchased as pack which would be great if you have a lot of family to send a personalised card too. I chose the *'Chalkboard Peace Love Joy Christmas & NY' Card (£2.49) for my sister and the *'Snowflake Boarder' Card (£2.49) for my grandad, both of which are great quality and easy to make! You can have the cards sent directly to the recipient or to yourself, I was a little disappointed to find that there an envelope wasn't included with the cards.

I do have a slight obsession with mugs, ok, a massive obsession bordering on the ridiculous... but I had to get a photograph mug! I must have clicked the wrong option as I wanted a 'magic' mug that changes colour but I have a *plain white 11oz Photo Collage mug (£7.99). As with the calendar and cards, the mug was easy to make - the only difficult and time consuming part is deciding on the photos! Even though some of the photos I chose for the mug are quite old and not very clear, they came out great, in my opinion.

Last but not least, my favourite item - yes, it is stationary and it has photographs of our latest holiday on the front, including photos from Florence (one of my favourite places in Italy so far). I chose the *Six Photo Collage Notebook (£5.99) which I think is great value for money! I am now using it as my 'blogging notebook' and I LOVE it!

Overall, I am so impressed with the items I received, the quality is fantastic (even if the photos aren't amazing), the designs are great and the dispatch time was so quick - I had all of my items within about 5/6 days! I would definitely recommend checking out Snapfish by HP for amazing, great value personalised christmas gifts!

What do you think of the items I made? Have you tried making photo/personalised gifts on Snapfish?

My Stocking Fillers: Under £15

My Stocking Fillers: Under £15

Sunday, November 23, 2014
For my first christmas gift guide post I wanted to publish something a bit different - all of the products in this post are products I own (either ones I have bought or been sent) that I love and I think would make great stocking fillers for numerous budgets! I wanted to include a few non-beauty items which I think will be fantastic as smaller presents or stocking fillers.

Makeup & Nails: First up, the amazing Burts Bees lip products - I have a few of their lip balms, glosses and lip shimmers, all of which I love and they have some fantastic shades especially for autumn/winter; and the best part is that all of them are under £10. Staying with the lip product theme, the Sweet Cecilys cocktail inspired lip balms are a unique stocking fillers that not only look cute but they work so well; they are £2.95 each and there are so many flavours to choose from!

Next up are a few nail products, the H&M nail polish remover pot (£3.99) may seem like a boring stocking filler but it is a fantastic nail polish remover and with the festive season comes parties and a quick and effective nail polish remover is a must! Nail dotting tools are also handy to have around this time of the year and I bought my set from Amazon for only 99p (and free shipping, how amazing is that!). The last nail polish stocking filler is a great vale set from Essie, it contains a base coat, top coat and polish - all of which are minis so they are great for those who travel; the best part is that this trio is only £5.99 on Fragrance Direct!

The last makeup item, is the Real Techniques Mini Brush Trio, which I have reviewed fully, here which is only £9.99. Again a great stocking filler for those who travel or commute and the brushes are just so cute! I will have a couple of posts on my real techniques brushes coming soon.

Skincare, Bath & Perfume: My facial skincare pick is an essential for me currently, it is the Bodhi and Birch Desert Rose Facial Oil (£14, trial size) which is a gorgeous facial oil. There is also one for more combination skin.

For body care, I have the My Trusty Sunflower Body Butter which is a fantastic product, profits go back into NHS patient care and it is only £7.99 - they make a fantastic hand cream too! Sticking with the body care theme, my bath product recommendation is the Therapie Himalayan Detox Bath Salts which everyone and their cat was raving about earlier this year as they are really help with relaxing and sleeping. The trial pouch I have this £10 which is a little pricy but the full size is really expensive. This product would be great if you are looking for a luxe stocking filler that doesn't cost the earth!

The final product in this category is the Ted Baker Mia Fragrance which is only 10ml so it is great for having in your handbag; it is a gorgeous scent and there are many more to choose from. They are £10 each and the packaging is so pretty and luxe, in my opinion.

Miscellaneous: The final few products are random inclusions such as drinks, stationary, clothing and hair chalk...Let's start with the Teapigs Matcha drinks which I reviewed fully a few months ago. I adore the elderflower flavour - they are on my wish list to santa! The drinks would be great for foodies, students or those who love tea and they are only £1.89 each!

My next random stocking filler suggestion is a Post-it dispenser in the shape of a handbag from Viking Direct, yes it is a bit cheesy and novel but I have been using mine constantly - I love it! It is £7.99 and a great little stocking filler for handbag lovers, stationary nerds (like myself) or students.

My penultimate stocking filler suggestion is the Harry Potter T-shirts from Primark, I bought my sister two  of them and they were only £6 each. They also have harry potter socks, jogging bottoms (£8) and other branded merchandised from Game of Thrones and The Simpsons!

My last product is from Essence, it is their rock style hair dye powder which is a wash out hair dye - well it is actually a hair chalk so it washes out after one wash. I have the purple shade and it actually shows up on my very dark hair! Essence is a fantastic brand and their products are so affordable.

What do you think of my stocking fillers under £15? What are your stocking filler recommendations?

The Body Shop Aloe Skincare Range

Saturday, November 22, 2014
A couple of months ago I was invited to The Body Shop blogger evening in the Trafford Centre in which I had a skin consultation and I had a few products tried on me at the time. One or two of which were from the aloe range which is a range I have overlooked from The Body Shop however I was kindly sent a few products to review, here are my thoughts!

Firstly, I have the *The Body Shop Aloe Gentle Facial Wash (£8.50, 125ml) which as the name would suggest is a foam. I haven't used a foam cleanser before this one and I really like it. It feels cleansing but not stripping and gentle on my dry, sensitive skin. Before using this cleanser I had a very small patch of eczema that had randomly flared up and none of the products from this range irritated my eczema! Saying this, everyone is different so trial sizes sets of skincare are a great way to test out skincare. The cleanser does what is says on the bottle, I couldn't really ask for more! Overall rating: ★★★★★, 5/5.

Next up, *The Body Shop Aloe Calming Toner (£8.50, 125ml). I don't use toners very often as I can be a little bit lazy sometimes when it comes to skincare but since using this one for the past couple of weeks I can see the difference they make! A toner is used after cleansing to remove any makeup or cleanser residue, for example, that may be left behind. I find it to be a nice, effective step in my skincare routine. It smoothes the skin, doesn't irritate and it doesn't make my skin feel tight or dry. The only negative point, in my opinion, is the slight plastic scent. Overall rating: ★★★★☆, 4/5.
Lastly, my favourite product, the *Aloe Soothing Day Cream (£4.00, 15ml) which you can buy minis of which is fantastic, especially if you don't know how your skin will react. Firstly, I hate the tub packaging, it isn't hygienic in my opinion. However, the moisturiser is fantastic, it is so smoothing, softening and moisturising. In terms of texture if feels really similar to the Laura Mercier Foundation Primer, it is that smooth and silky, I love it! I would definitely purchase the full size, although I would have to decant it into a tube container! Overall rating: ★★★★★, 5/5.
Overall, I am really impressed with this range, it doesn't irritate my eczema prone skin at all and it doesn't strip my skin which is great especially during this time of the year when my skin is even more dry. I LOVE the day cream and I would recommend all three products if you have normal or dry sensitive skin.

Super Glossy Nails in Minutes with Micro Nail

Friday, November 21, 2014
I have always had long, healthy nails although recently they have been quite lack luster due to neglect, nail polish and generally not taking care of them as well as I should. So when this product arrived on my doorstep it was a chance for me to start getting my nails in tip top shape!

I have the *Emoji Micro Nail Electric Nail Polisher (currently £34.99 on Lookfantastic) which comes with two micro smooth rollers, two micro shine roller and two AA batteries as well as a string pouch to store the rollers in. Setting up the product is easy and it looks so cute and retro! I have to admit, the first time using this product, it did scare me a bit! The rollers are quick and easy to change and the process is very simple but the rollers spin around quite quickly to buff or shine the nails, depending on what roller you have on the device. The rollers rotate 1800 times per minute to smooth ridges and the shine rollers give a naturally beautiful shine to the nails that is supposed to last up to two weeks!
To use the device, first select the smooth roller and attached it to the nail polisher - it just pushes on. Then switch the device on and gently and slowly move the rotating roller over each nail individually. I thought that it would hurt if it passes onto the cuticle or skin but it doesn't at all. Wipe each nail after it has been smoothed/buffed as there will be a powdery residue left. Then attach the shine roller and watch the magic! Use the same technique as with the smooth roller although I found that I have to take a little extra time with these rollers to get the edges of the nails but the effect is just amazing - my nails have never ever looked so glossy and shiny.

Here are the before and after photographs of my nails - the photographs do not do this product justice, it left my nails almost reflective (well that's a bit of an exaggeration) but they were incredibly glossy and shiny. The whole process took no longer than ten minutes and it was my first time using it! I think this nail polisher would be a great christmas gift for beauty lovers, for those who like pampering, nail polish lovers and I also think it would be great for people who are not allowed or cannot wear nail polish as it gives the look of a very glossy clear nail polish!

I also received a *Nailtiques Protein Nail Lacquer in the shade 'Vegas 313' (sale - £7.30) which is a gorgeous and very festive metallic red shade that is perfect for this time of the year. The polish applied so well, it is pigmented and smooth although the longevity isn't amazing, in my opinion. I applied the *Orly Glosser Super High Shine Top Coat (£10.90, 18ml) over the polish and it definitely gives an amazing shine to the nails although again it didn't last very well on my nails.

Finally I used the *Nailtiques Cuticle and Skin Gel which I applied to the cuticles and edges of my nails when the top coat had dried. It instantly smoothes and hydrates the skin and cuticles. The best thing about this product is that is absorbs quickly and you only need a tiny amount.

Overall, I am very happy with the products! When used together they give my nails the most shiny, glossy, healthy finish! Also with regards to the longevity of the shine, it lasts for two weeks on me even when I have used/removed nail polish, the shine is still there. I cannot recommend the Micro Nail Polisher enough - I think my mum may be looking to 'borrow' it...

Have you tried the Emoji Micro Nail Electric Nail Polisher or any of the other products I have reviewed?

Makeup Revolution The One Blush Sticks

Thursday, November 20, 2014
Makeup Revolution have been so generous to bloggers, including me, recently! I have been almost overwhelmed by the new releases and the quality of the new products! I was sent the full range of blush sticks, there are eight in total - four of which are matte and the others are shiny/slightly glossy.

I have all eight of the *Makeup Revolution The One Blush Sticks (£5 each). I love the packaging, it looks so sleek and professional as well as durable and practical. The ply problem I have with the packaging is that the shade name isn't on the tube, it is only on the cardboard packaging!

There are four matte shades and four glossier shades, all of which can be used on either the cheeks or lips. I used the 'matte malibu' shade in a previous post - my five product face (here). I thought I would like the matte blush sticks more but I have definitely been using the glossier sticks more. Here are the swatches and my thoughts.

I find the matte shades are more pigmented than the others, they are also a little bit cakey on the lips whereas the non-matte shades are less so. They all apply smoothly, they are creamy to touch and they can be worn sheer or more vibrant on the lips or cheeks. I would use them more on the cheeks than lips but it is a great multi-purpose product, in my opinion.

My favourites shades have to be 'matte malibu', 'rush and 'matte rush' all of which would be gorgeous for the autumn/winter months as they are quite warm, natural shades. My least favourite is the 'matte dream' shade which looks too milky on my skin and I find that it washes me out.

Overall, I am very impressed with the Makeup Revolution The One Blush Stick, a few bloggers have compared them to the Nars Multiples! I think they are fantastic, especially for the price and I think they will last for a long time.

Have you tried the Makeup Revolution The One Blush Sticks? If so, what do you think of them?

Beauty Advent Calendar Showdown 2014!

Wednesday, November 19, 2014
Images/info from Google and cosmopolitan.co.uk
1. You Beauty Discovery Calendar (£49.95), 2. Tarte Petite Treats ($37), 3. The Body Shop 24 Days Of Joy (£50), 4. Topshop Jewellery Advent Calendar (£25), 5. W7 Countdown to Christmas Calendar (£12 - cannot find online but it should be available now in TKMaxx + Fragrance Direct), 6. Lush 12 Days Of Christmas (£49.95)

Back in 2012 I had the Selfridges beauty advent calendar which was my very first beauty advent calendar and at the time there was really only the Selfridges beauty advent calendar but now there are so many to choose from! If I had the money to spare I would get the Liberty's or Jo Malone advent calendars but they are so expensive! I am very tempted by the Lush, You Beauty Discovery and Tarte advent calendars!

Also Tesco have just brought out a beauty advent calendar (£50, here) and Topshop have a nail polish advent calendar (£50, here).

Which beauty advent calendar do you want? Have you had a beauty advent calendar before?

Tigi Nocturnal Therapy + Blow Out Balm

Tuesday, November 18, 2014
Tigi is one of those brands that I love the sound of and the products always have great reviews but I never get around to buying their products! Although I have tried a couple of their shampoos in the past and I was very happy with them. I was kindly sent a couple of products, both of which I was excited to try!

Firstly, my favourite product! The *Tigi Reparative Nocturnal Therapy (£26.95) which treats advanced signs of damage overnight. Can we have a moment to appreciate the packaging/bottle of this hair treatment...the bottle looks so pretty, luxe and expensive! I also love that it has a pump dispenser! The treatment is supposed to be applied in the evening onto dry hair then left overnight to work, however I apply it in the morning and wash it out in the evening - as I always wash my hair in the evenings. The treatment smells so cosy, warm and perfect for this time of year; I'm sure it has vanilla and maybe sandalwood in it. The treatment is quick and easy to apply and it washes out easily without leaving any residue in my hair. Overall, the treatment leaves my hair looking and feeling nourishing, moisturised and smooth, I would definitely recommend this hair treatment! Overall rating: ★★★★★, 5/5!

The second product is the *Tigi Catwalk Blow Out Balm (£14.95) which conditions, smoothes and adds shine to the hair. It also comes with a pump dispenser and it has small iridescent shimmers in it which I guess adds shine to the hair. The product smells really nice, a sweet but musky scent. I only use a tiny amount of this product as a little goes a long way for my hair and it feels so smooth when applying. The instruction on the bottle don't state whether to use it on dry, wet or damp hair; I've been using it on damp hair ten blow drying. Overall, I find it does add shine and it smoothes my hair, taming some of the frizziness but I probably wouldn't buy this product as I don't blow dry my hair very often and if I use a bit too much product, it can make my hair look a little greasy. Overall rating: ★★★★☆, 4/5.

Overall, I love the hair treatment, I would definitely consider purchasing the full size when this one runs out (which will take a very long time!). I have always been happy with the few Tigi products I have tried! There are a lot of great Tigi gift sets on sale at the moment.

Have you tried any products from Tigi?

#SouthBeachMovieDay Event + FOTD

Saturday, November 15, 2014
Today I attended the South Beach event at the Corner House Cinema in Manchester which is a place I haven't been to before but I definitely have to go again as it is such a nice cinema/cafe! I met up with my uni friend Melissa who is also a blogger, check out her blog, here. First, we watched Clueless which is a typical chick flick and I haven't actually watched it in years!
We then went upstairs, above the cafe/bar, where we had cupcakes and had the chance to look at the gorgeous lounge wear and swimwear! I didn't really get a chance to look at the lounge wear but the swimwear was so colourful and is making me look forward to summer already! There was a candyfloss/cotton candy machine which looked amazing but I actually don't like candyfloss but there was also a pick and mix table of sweets!

As for my FOTD, I used my current favourite foundation - the Max Factor Luminizer Foundation which is amazing especially if you have dry skin. I also used my Cool Neutral Mac Palette which was quite expensive and I hardly reach for it but the shades are really pretty! For mascara I used the Rimmel 100% waterproof mascara. I can't leave the house without contouring, I used my Nars Powder Blush in Douceur which is actually being discontinued so snap it up before its gone!

Overall, it was a good event and the Corner House Cinema is gorgeous. The goodie bag was also great, so thank you to the lovely people at South Beach Official for inviting me even though I had to leave the event early!

Have you bought anything from South Beach? If so, what did you buy?

Review: Bare Minerals Get Started Kit

Friday, November 14, 2014
A couple of weeks ago I received the *Bare Minerals Get Started Kit in Light from House of Fraser. I have tried a couple of Bare Minerals products such as the Mineral Veil, Marvelous Moxie Lipstick in 'Make Your Move' and the Ready Eyeshadow 2.0 in 'The Promise' all of which I love so I was excited to try this set!

The kit contains: Prime Time Original Foundation Primer, Original SPF15 Foundation in Light & Fairly Light, Warmth All-Over Face Color, Original Mineral Veil Finishing Powder, Full Flawless Face Brush, Flawless Application Face Brush and the Maximum Coverage Concealer Brush. I also received a mini Lash Domination Mascara and mini mirror!

The set is beautifully packaged with two outer sleeves, which contain a step by step guide and before and after photographs showing what the kit can do. As well as a more informative booklet guide inside. I think this kit or at least this package is part of the christmas/holiday range. It also comes in a box which could be re-used.
Here is the look I created with all of my Bare Minerals products! Firstly, I have to talk about my favourite products from the kit - the brushes. I have a lot of makeup brushes from numerous brands and the Flawless Face Brush has to be one of the smoothest/softest I own, I love it! I have been using it with the Original Foundation and Mineral Veil, it is a gorgeous brush that works so well.

Next up the Prime Time Original Primer, I have a few that I use but none that have ever wowed me - this is the same, it doesn't wow me but it is a really nice, smoothing primer that I think does improve the longevity of my makeup to an extent. Now onto the foundation, the Light shade is a touch too dark for me but the Fairly Light shade is a good match, even though I have super pale skin. Even though the foundation is a powder it isn't look overly matte or cakey on the skin, hopefully you can see from the photos above that it lets some of my skin show through and it still looks slightly glowy due to my facial oils/moisturiser. The foundation in my opinion is light to medium coverage, it doesn't highlight patches of dryness on my skin and I only need to use a small amount. For a more full coverage application, for my under eye darkness and redness, I use the Max Coverage Concealer Brush which really packs on the foundation and amps up the coverage.

The next product is the All-Over Face Color in Warmth which when I first received it, I thought the colour would be far too dark as it is a red toned brown shade but when used very lightly on top of and under the cheekbones it makes a really nice slightly warm toned contour/bronzer.  Finally to finish off the base, I used the Mineral Veil which I already have in my makeup collection. I mention it in my month in photos post back in December last year, here. It sets my makeup but it doesn't look caky at all and as with the foundation and face color, it doesn't highlight dryness or pores.

Lastly, the Lash Domination Mascara which claims to be a volumizing mascara although I find it gives my lashes more length and definition rather than a lot of volume, however I only like to use one coat of mascara as I love natural but defined lashes. It applies smoothly and I love the shiny packaging!

Overall, I think this set is great if you haven't tried Bare Minerals products before as you get a good range to try and the quality is fantastic as is the presentation so it would make a great christmas gift. I am definitely going to look into the brushes and more of their lipsticks! The lipstick and eyeshadow duo I used can also be purchased from House of Fraser. All of their holiday/christmas gifts on House of Fraser look gorgeous!

Have you tried any products or gift sets from Bare Minerals? If so what are your favourite Bare Minerals products?

Blue Vanilla Giovana Double Layer Skirt

Wednesday, November 12, 2014
A couple of weeks ago I received this gorgeous skirt in the post from Blue Vanilla via EtailPR and I love it! I hadn't heard of Blue Vanilla until their samples showed up on the EtailPR website. I am not usually a skirt kind of girl, probably because I was forced to wear them for PE in a freezing gym hall, however this skirt has changed my mind!

The *Blue Vanilla Giovana Double Layer Skirt (£24) is like nothing else I have in my wardrobe, it is so girly, floral and delicate! I don't know when I would wear this skirt, as in my opinion, it isn't an everyday skirt but it is so pretty. I love the double layer - there is a sheer section at the hem of the skirt which looks gorgeous! I also love the monochrome/grey toned colour scheme, it makes it more wearable and easier to pair with shoes/tops. I paired the skirt with a sheer stripy black top from Forever21 and chunky black heels from Pretty Small Shoes, as I like the combination of the delicate, feminine skirt with the edgier top and chunky heels.

I have a size small and it fits really  well, it is a great length even though I am very petite (4ft 10") and it feels well made. The only thing I don't like about the skirt is that you can see the tag and stitching through the sheer layer which makes it looks a little bit cheap in my opinion, although the tag can be cut out. The skirt despite looking ornate and delicate is very comfortable to wear due to the elasticated waist band.

Overall, I love the design, print and colour scheme of this skirt but my favourite part is the double layer, with the sheer panel at the hem which looks so pretty. I may wear this to our new year fancy dress party but I don't know what character it would be - suggestions in the comments please! I would definitely recommend the brand Blue Vanilla based on this item. Also the prices seem very reasonable and they have quite a wide range of clothes. Overall rating: ★★★★, 5/5.

What do you think of this skirt? Have you bought anything from Blue Vanilla?

Yves Rocher Quelques Notes d'Amour

Tuesday, November 11, 2014
I have tried quite a few fragrances from Yves Rochers, one I bought a few years ago and one I was sent before summer this year (here). I haven't tried a more autumnal/musky scent from Yves Rocher until now. This fragrance is the latest offering from Yves Rocher and it doesn't disappoint!

The *Yves Rocher Quelques Note d'Amour L'eau de Parfum (£33, 30ml). This fragrance is currently on sale for only £17.50 for a 30ml bottle! Firstly, the bottle is and packaging is simple and elegant, I love the heart imprint on the side of the bottle. The fragrance notes are as follows: Rose, Gaiac wood and Benzoin.

The fragrance, in my opinion, is a gorgeous musky fragrance although the scent of roses is strong throughout the perfume. The combination of notes is beautiful and perfect for autumn/winter, especially if you don't like very musky or spicy scents. I think it could easily be worn during the day or evening as although it is musky, the rose lifts it and give the fragrance a hint of sultry sweetness which makes the fragrance more feminine.

The longevity is fairly good at about five hours on me, it may differ on others though. The fragrance lasts a bit longer on clothing though.

Overall, I love the scent of this perfume, it is a musky floral which sounds very generic but it is actually quite unique, in my opinion. The bottle is pretty and simple; I think it would make a gorgeous christmas gift! I wish the fragrance lasted a little longer on me though. Overall rating: ★, 5/5.

OOTD: Warehouse Faux Leather Jacket

Sunday, November 09, 2014
I have a couple of faux leather jackets and I love them for autumn as you can layer tees underneath them, add boots and then pile on the scarves/snoods! I was kindly allowed to pick a jacket from the Warehouse website, it was so difficult to pick but I chose a gorgeous black faux leather jacket!

I have the *Warehouse Rib Sleeve Biker Jacket (£65) which I received in a UK size 8. I paired the jacket with my Primark burnt orange scarf, Topshop jeans, Monki top and Newlook boots. If you follow me on Instagram (@heathernixon4) then you would have already seen this jacket - I love it!

I love the detailing, the ribbed section on the top of the arms is such a nice touch, it makes it look more interesting and expensive, in my opinion. I also like the silver hardware and I feel like the jacket will go with so many outfits, from jeans and a jumper to dresses or with shorts and tights!

The fit of the jacket on the body is perfect, the arms are a little long but I am petite so I expect this with all jackets and the arms are a bit tight with a jumper underneath, although with t-shirts the jacket fits really well. If you did want to wear sweaters/thick jumpers underneath this jacket then I would definitely recommend sizing up. The jacket feels really well made and durable, I think it will last a long time and even though it is faux leather it doesn't look like it!

Overall, I am really happy with the jacket - I love the design and the look of the jacket. It will be a much needed staple in my wardrobe for autumn! The only negative point is that I can't really wear thick jumpers underneath as the arms are a bit tight but layered with tees, scarves and boots it is gorgeous! I actually saw a photo of Alexa Chung wearing a really similar looking jacket on the Now Seen Official website/social media. Overall rating: ★★★★☆, 4/5.

OOTD: Newlook Cameo Rose Blanket Wrap

Saturday, November 08, 2014
Blanket wraps are a massive trend currently with the likes of Rosie Huntington Whiteley, Olivia Palermo and Cara Delevingne sporting the much covered Burberry blanket wrap. As always the trends from the runway filter into the highstreet, thankfully for the rest of us who sadly cannot afford the original runway versions. Newlook is a great store for cheaper highstreet trend led fashion and they have a large range of blanket wraps. I was kindly allowed to pick one from the Newlook website.

Jumper: H&M
Jeans: Topshop
Boots: Newlook

The blanket wrap is one size only, unfortunately, as on the whole one size items are always too big for my petite frame but this one fits quite well, in my opinion. The style is quite oversized and cosy, I love the aztec/tribal print with its gorgeous autumnal shades! The blanket wrap is really smooth, soft and I love the way it falls on the body. The best thing about this particular blanket wrap is the buckle strap fastening on the front of the blanket wrap which is great as otherwise it would slip off easily and become an annoyance.

Overall, I would prefer there to be numerous sizes, especially for petite women, but the fit on the whole is good. I love the autumnal shades and it is so easy to wear/pair with other items. Newlook has such a large range of blanket wraps, here - a few are currently on sale.

Do you own a blanket wrap? What do you think of Newlooks blanket wraps?

Review: Stur Water Enhancers

Friday, November 07, 2014
A while ago I was sent a pack of the *Stur Liquid Water Enhancers, I was instantly intrigued as I do love cordials. After the pack arrived, I realised that they were not just any cordials/water enhancers - they contain 100% of your daily vitamin C and they do not contains sugar, calories or fat!

I have six flavours: green apple, orange mango, blackcurrant apple cranberry pomegranate and then two tea flavours: real brewed tea + lemon and real brewed tea + peach. I hate the taste of water on its own, it makes me feel sick so I was more than happy to try out the flavours!

The little bottles are very handy to take on the go, they are quick and easy to use and each bottle contains up to 30 uses. I have used the blackcurrant apple, green apple and orange mango the most out of the six. I love the blackcurrant apple flavour it is not too sweet and it masks the taste of the water as they all do. The green apple tastes like watered down apple juice, but in a good way, it is not too sweet or sour. I find the orange mango flavour can bee a little too sweet for me personally but it was my sisters favourite out of the six. I would recommend the fruit flavoured water enhancers! Overall rating: ★★★★☆, 4/5.

Lastly the two tea flavours, both of which I have tried, even though the only tea I drink is matcha green tea with elderflower or apple. I really don't get on with these two flavours, they are not my cup of tea (excuse the pun), my sister also doesn't like them - although we are both non-traditional tea drinkers - I know, I don't like tea, I don't think I'm English! Overall rating: ★★☆, 2/5.

Overall, I love the idea of these little vitamin C rich, sugar free water enhancers/flavourings and the fruit flavoured versions are really nice. Although both tea flavours are not for me or my sister.  For more information visit the Stur website, here.

Review: The Country Candle Company

Friday, November 07, 2014
It is no secret that I have a slight...massive obsession with candles, especially at this time of the year when it is cold outside a candle makes a room look and feel so cosy, comforting and homely! Although I do miss the summer sunshine, so this candle combines the best of both worlds. I was kindly sent this candle from the brand The Country Candle Company, to read my personal disclaimer, click here.

I have *The Country Candle Company in 'Mango Mandarin' (£8.50) which is from the polka dot collection. Firstly, I love the packaging, it is so cute, it would make a great gift! The scent is described on the Country Candle Company website as "vibrant and juicy top notes of freshly squeezed mandarin and orange entwine with juicy notes of melon and exotic mango. A heart of delicate white flowers twisted with tart rhubarb rest on a supportive base of soft musks."

The scent is sweet, very tropical and the tart rhubarb definitely comes through along with the exotic mango and juicy mandarin. The candle just screams summer, beaches, refreshing tropical cocktails and sunshine - perfect if you are not interested in the more spicy christmasy scents. The candle burns evenly, the scent throw is good but it is not very strong which in my opinion is a positive point as it may be sickly if the scent was stronger.

Overall, I think the candle is well priced, cute and the scent is perfect if you love fruity, fresh, summery scents. Although I adore christmasy/spicy/musky candles, I also like this sweet scent which reminds me of happy summer memories! I definitely have my eye on the new Country Candle Company winter collection, which sounds heavenly. Overall rating: ★★★★☆, 4/5.
