Primark Haul

Thursday, February 28, 2013
I went to Primark (The rock, Bury) on wednesday with my dad and sister...well when I say with my dad, he drove! I have been watching Primark hauls on Youtube and I saw some things that I really wanted. However everyone has been saying that the prices in Primark have gone up and they definitely have!
I bought a 12 pack of stud earrings which was only...£2.50! I love some of them such as the crosses, peace signs and triangles but I don't like the wings, stars and eyes. But for only £2.50 for 12 earrings, it great value!I also bought a backcombing brush which was only £1 and its bright pink! I bought some cotton pads and big hair clips both £1 each. Lastly for accessories etc I bought a pack of red and white polka dot nail wraps which were £1.50. I haven't tried nail wraps before so I am excited to try these out.
I also bought a gorgeous thick dove grey snood for only £4. I adore the colour, it is so chic and the snood feels really well made and it is thick too. They had so many snoods in Primark - there was a grey aztec print snood, one with a grey skull print and lots of plain ones which I wanted, I will have to go back and get a couple more!
The last item I bought was this grey/khaki jumper which was reduced to only £5. If you want jumpers then get down to Primark as they have a lot of gorgeous jumpers on sale for £5 and £7. I bought this one in a UK size 8 which looked big on the hanger but I would have preferred a size 10 so that it was slightly oversized. I love the details on this jumper, including the zip on the back and the slits at the sides.
My sister bought a pair of wheres wally pyjamas which are just adorable! They were on a stand that said £5 but at the till they were £8. The print is so cute and I just love these Pj's.
The last item is a dress that my sister bought for our up coming cruise. The dress is a gorgeous colour, it is a olive green shade and it comes with a tan belt. The dress was only £13 which I think is great value and the dress looks a lot more expensive than it was, in my opinion.

FOTD & How much is your face worth?

Wednesday, February 27, 2013
Here is a combined post, I thought I would show my FOTD (face of the day) which a tag post - how much is your face worth which shows how much my daily makeup costs (which I was slightly very scared to find out!).
Here are all of base products! Firstly I use my trusty Simple Rich Moisturiser (£3.89, Boots) and let it sink in for a minute or two. I then apply my Laura Mercier Foundation Primer (£18.50, SpaceNK) which I have tried a few times and I am not that impressed but I will post a full review. The it is time for foundation, I have been using my Bourjois 10 Hour Sleep Effect Foundation (£9.99, Boots) which I really like, apart from the shade, it oxidises and it isn't as pale as I need it to be. The real techniques expert face brush is used to apply and blend the foundation, love this brush, I highly recommend it. The concealer is applied, I use either my Clinique Air Brush Concealer but today I used my ELF Tone Correcting Concealer (£1.50) which I LOVE and I use the Real Techniques Domed Shadow Brush to apply and blend the concealer. Then I use my ELF Bronzer in the shade 'cool' (£3.75) to contour. I use my Illamasqua Blush Brush (£28.50) to contour with, it is the best contour brush ever! I love this brush is makes contouring so quick and easy. I apply the new Revlon Nearly Naked Pressed Powder in the shade 01 fair (£5.99, Superdrug, intro price) to finish and that is the base done!
Now onto eyes, brows and lips. I start with brows and I fill them in lightly with the matte shade 'mudhoney' from my amazing Soap and Glory Lid stuff palette in the shade 'what's nude' (£10, Boots). I use my Real Techniques angled brush to apply the shadow to my brows. To set the brows, as I have fairly unruly brows, I use my Gosh Eyebrow Gel (£4.00, Superdrug) which I do like but I definitely prefer the Tweezerman Brow Mousse. I use the white shade in the same S&G palette all over the lid and up to the brow bone to create a light even base, I then apply the pinky shade just to the lids. I use the same shade 'mudhoney' that I used for the brows, along the upper and lower lash line for definition. I use my Urban Decay 24/7 Shadow Pencil in the shade 'sin' (£14, house of fraser) to highlight the inner corners of my eyes. For mascara I use the amazing Yves Rocher Sexy Plump Mascara (£8.95, Yves Rocher) which I adore but I wish they made a waterproof version. Curling the lashes is next with the Shu Uemura Eyelash Curler (£20, House of Fraser) (I have the limited edition Karl Lagerfeld ones) and I then apply my Burts Bees Beeswax Lip Balm (£3, Feelunique)- I wipe of the lip balm after a couple of minutes as it can leave a slight white residue on the lips.
The natural bright light has made my hair look lighter at the top and darker towards the midlengths for some reason
Here is the finished natural but defined look! The mudhoney shade from the S&G palette which I used to liner the upper and lower lash lines hasn't really shown up on the photographs, maybe because of the bright morning light but it is darker than it looks in the photographs.

As for the price of all of the makeup...I don't what to know but with these product now and at the prices they are now it comes to a whopping £132.07 - I didn't think it would add up to that and that isn't including a couple of angled brushes!

L'Occitane Flash Sale Buys!

Monday, February 25, 2013
Last week I received an email from L'Occitane about the flash sale that had started online, for one day only, so naturally I had to look and an accidental...purchase was made...
I bought two items of makeup that I have wanted for a while but I didn't want to pay the full price. I bought a highlighter and an eyeshadow duo. They were both £7.50 each and I think they should have been nearly £13 each, so not a massive saving but every little helps as Tesco claims. Firstly, I just want to say how gorgeous, delicate and expensive the packaging looks - love it!
The first item is the Fleur Cherie Mousseline d'argent poudre visage. This is a pressed powder face highlighter, for highlighting the brow bone, tops of the cheek bones and inner corner. You could also use it as an all over eyeshadow colour or to highlight the decolletage. There is 3.5g in each pot and I was a bit disappointed when I received these as they are small pots and I thought they would be bigger. But the product inside is really nice, it has a very smooth soft texture but it comes off as fairly large pieces of glitter which isn't as nice as a highlight as it looks obvious. I will have to test these products for a longer period of time before I can give a full review - this is just my first impressions.
The final product I bought is the Fleur Cherie Rose Falbala poudre visage. I don't know why they call this product a face powder as it obviously isn't, you don't use this as a face powder. It is a lovely eyeshadow duo! The first shade looks really pinky in the packaging but it is a champagne shade on the skin even though in the packaging is looks very pink (the photograph above doesn't show how pink it looks but it is a dark baby pink in the pan). The second shade is my favourite and it is a gorgeous purple taupe shade which I think will look gorgeous as a liner. Both shade are smooth, fairly pigmented and they blend well.

Have you tried any L'Occitane makeup?

Face of the day: Liner and pink lips
Competitions in PJ's  //  Topshop sale buys  //  Topshop PJ's
Creamy pumpkin candle //  Knitting again  //  Favourite products of the week
Another week has flown by really quickly and it is time for my weekly round up! Firstly, experimenting with my eyeliners which resulted in my face of the day photographs. I used my bourjois 10 hour sleep effect foundation, Stila waterproof liquid liner and Shu Uemura lipstick in the shade BG 941.

I have also been making some cheeky online purchases from Topshop and L'Ocitane! I bought some Topshop undercrackers (knickers/panties) in a cute pumpkin print and some Topshop reindeer cupcake cases which are just adorable! Both of which were in the sale, the knickers were £1 and the cupcake cases were 50p each! I also bought some Topshop pyjamas in the sale and they came to £9 (free delivery and student discount). Yes, these pj's are maternity but I just bought the size 'S small' and they fit well - I am a UK size 8 to 10 and no I am not pregnant. Also I have bought two makeup items from L'Occitane which will have their own blog post on monday or tuesday.

I have been burning my Bath and Body Works (whitebarn) candle in the scent 'creamy pumpkin' this week and this candle doesn't smell anything like pumpkin...it just smells like creamy vanilla to me, anyway it is a really nice scent. I have also been knitting again this week and my sister, mum and auntie have as well. We are making snoods and mug 'jackets' to sell at a fare/stall in April.

Lastly, my favourite products this week have been my Korres Shower Gel in the scent 'Guava' which I adore and my Nivea lip butter in the flavour Vanilla and macadamia. I haven't stopped using both of these products! I think I will make this 'favourite products of the week' a regular item on my weekly round up posts - what do you think?

I hope everyone had a great week! x

What's in my university bag?

Friday, February 22, 2013
Here is a bit of a different post, I have been watching the 'whats in my bag' videos on youtube and I thought I would give it a go - mine isn't going to be that interesting I don't think but I really wanted to show my bag!
Here is my bag! It is from Zara, I bought it last year in the summer and I LOVE it! The colour is a gorgeous dove grey and the bag has pretty rose gold hardware. The bag is really quite big and it holds a lot. The only problem I have with this bag is that it isn't structured so you have to push and pull it to get it into a decent shape.
1. I have this Clinique bag that I received with an online order and in it I just keep my tissues, female items (awkward), hair grips and bobbles.

2. An old FCUK zip up bag that I keep sample of fragrance, foundation, moisturiser, lip balm etc - just in case (yes, I know I'm paranoid and I over pack).

3. My cute umbrella from dotcomgiftshop. It was only £1.99, bargain!

4. My Cath Kidston Purse, I bought it from Asos when they had a 20%off for students - one of the only perks of being a university student really!

5. Pink filofax, my first filofax. I bought it from amazon a few months ago on sale, it should have been around £28 but it was £14.

6. I don't really go any where without my hand creams, I usually have this Soap and Glory hand food in my bag - even though I love the L'Occitane hand creams but they are really expensive whereas the S&G one is very cheap!

7. My pencil case, of sorts - it is a Biotherm makeup bag but I use it for pens, highlighters, page markers.

8. Finally my cute strawberry which when opened turns into a fabric bag! I bought it in Corsica for around €5.

What's in your bag?

Boots Haul...I have no regrets...

Monday, February 18, 2013
On Saturday (16th Feb) I went to Boots, there was my first mistake I know! Boots is a honey trap for beauty lovers! If you are not familiar with Boots, it is a drugstore/high street store that sells a whole range of beauty, hair, body, fragrance and health products, its amazing! Anyway, I went in with the purpose of spending my £13 of Boots points only...that didn't happen. I spend my Boots points and then some...someone stop me!
The first things I bought where not very interesting, just a shampoo and conditioner duo (which are massive!) as they were on offer for 2 for £6. I also bought a permanent hair dye in the shade 'medium dark brown' just to even out my hair colour. I also bought a new product that I saw online and it is the Pearl Drops Beauty Sleep Tooth Serum...yes that's right a tooth serum! Whatever will they think of next, I was very sceptical when I heard about this but it has some very positive reviews going for it and it was less than £4 so I thought I would give it a go.
Now, the important buys - makeup. I bought the New Revlon Nearly Naked Pressed Powder in the shade 01 fair. I have heard a lot of good things about this powder, like it isn't cakey or powdery on the skin. This was released in America a month or two before the UK (as it always the way) so there are quite a few reviews on it. I bought another newly released product, the Nivea Vanilla & Macadamia Lip Butter which I have also heard really good things about. Unfortunately mine had a fingerprint in it so I had to use a cotton bud to wipe that area! Lastly, I bought the Bourjois 10 hour sleep effect foundation in the shade 71 with my Boots points. I have wanted to try this foundation for a while but I haven't been able to find my shade online. I have only tried this on my hand but so far so good!

A week in photographs #10

New Jimmy Choo Flash Fragrance
Snow...again!
New Illamasqua Blush Brush (new collection)
New obsession // photographing and swatching // Knitting!

This week has consisted of: university work (it is never ending!), shopping, knitting, swatching, noodles and snow (for one whole day!). Firstly, the snow, we had a good amount of snow on Tuesday/Wednesday this week which was great as I wasn't in uni. If you have seen my sale outfits posts then you will have seen me stood in the snow (freezing to death)!

This week I received a new makeup brush, the Illamasqua Blush Brush from their new collection imperfection 2013. The brush was £28.50 which is really expensive, in my opinion, but I did get 10% off because I bought it from Asos and they have student discount all year round. As soon as I saw the brush I knew I wanted it - Mac released a similar brush a few months ago, the Mac 163 which I wanted but it went out of stock so quickly I didn't end up getting it but the Illamasqua brush is just fantastic. Full review of the Illamasqua brush coming soon. Also some new posts coming soon on my neutral palettes, the last row of photographs shows me in the process of swatching the shadows of the NYX Caviar and Bubbles Palette.

Another new product I received this week was from a website called whats in my handbag, I requested a sample of the new Jimmy Choo fragrance and it arrived so quickly - the website and delivery is great and the sample was free! Unfortunately I am not too keen on the fragrance, it is quite generic and it doesn't last long on my skin.

My obsessions this week include: the Burt's Bees beeswax lip balm, knitting and QI - a British quiz show (of sorts).

I hope everyone had a great week! Stay tuned for some new and exciting posts (hopefully), including: my international Dior giveaway, my lipstick collection/swatches, a Boots haul, whats in my university bag and more!

February Birchbox

Saturday, February 16, 2013
I was quite impressed with the first Birchbox - it was jolie box previously. Birchbox has been around in the US for a while but it only came to the UK last month and so far...it is the best beauty box I have tried! And this months box is just amazing, I love everything I received.
The items came in the usual pink Birchbox packaging and drawstring bag - the pink wasn't for valentines day, it is their regular packaging. The Birchbox magazine and information card are also included. This months box consisted of six items, five of which are samples I think.
I received: Korres Guava shower gel, Vichy Eau Thermale water spray, Nick Chavez beverly hills plump 'n' thick leave in thickening mist, Gerda Spillmann Cream makeup, EBoost orange dietary supplement and lastly, the Birchbox eyelash curler.

I am really happy with everything that I received, especially the korres shower gel (which I have been wanting to try for ages), the Vichy water spray and the hair thickening spray which I don't really need as my hair is fairly thick anyway but I haven't tried a product like this before and it sounds interesting. When I saw the Gerda Spillmann cream makeup I was very excited, it is a creamy compact foundation and my shade is 01 praline but the shade is too dark/orange for me when I tested it on my hand but I will have to try it out fully.

Do you received Birch boxes? If you do, what did you get?

Sale Outfits #2

Friday, February 15, 2013
The second and probably not last sale outfit post. Here are some of the items I have bought over the past couple of months. Just a note, I am clearly not a model and I'm not photographed as a hobby or job, in fact I don't like it. Also I am aware that my forehead looks mahooosive! I think I am going to get a fringe, hopefully cover that bad boy up! And like the first sale outfit post, it looks like I don't have makeup on in these photographs but just incase your interested I was wearing: Clinique airbrush concealer (04), Gosh brow pen, NYX caviar and bubbles palette and my new obsession - the Loreal caresse shine in the shade '101 lolita'.

Sale outfits #1

Friday, February 15, 2013
I thought I would create a bit of a different post today, I have created a few outfits with some of the sale items that I have bought over the past two months. Just a note to say, I am clearly not a model of any kind and I don't have my photograph taken that much so I do look a bit awkward in these photos. Credits to my sister who took these photographs in the snow, while it was snowing!
Sweater: Urban outfitters (£15, sale)

Lip Balm Collection

Wednesday, February 13, 2013
I thought I would create a post about my large lip balm collection. I have quite a few lip balms, some of which I love and some of them I am not too keen on. I thought this post would be appropriate as it is still winter, a horrible time for lips, and as I am writing this today it is snowing!
1. Softlips 'french vanilla': I bought this lip balm a couple of months ago and I have purchased from this brand before. I love the packaging, it is sleek, thin and small so it is great for travelling. The balm itself is smooth, clear, slightly glossy and hydrating - although it can really tingle my lips which I don't like so I don't reach for this one very much. Not recommended.

2. Rodial Galm Balm Lip: I received this as part of a starter gift set (on sale from Debenhams, haul post here). I bought this product at the same time as I bought the softlips, korres and blistex balms too. I LOVE this Rodial lip balm! I only use it at night as it is so moisturising and it can leave a slight white case to the lips so I wouldn't use this during the day. Overall, incredibly smoothing and hydrating - it is more like a treatment than a balm. Highly recommended.

3. Vaseline 'creme brule': I bought two of these as they were limited edition but you might still be able to find them online. I only use one, the other is brand new so I may include it in another future giveaway. I really like this balm, firstly the packaging is cute and the balm itself is glossy, moisturising and it smells/tastes really nice!Recommended.

4. Figs & Rouge balms: I have two of these balms, one is the 'rambling rose' scent and the other is the 'sweet geranium' scent. I like the second more than the rose one but they are both hydrating. Although they have a strange texture, they feel gritty on the skin but that soon dissipates and becomes smooth. Recommended, although the lid can be really difficult to remove and put back on.

5. Korres Mandarin Lip Butter Stick 'rose': I think I bought this from feelunique after quite a long time of debating whether to get these. There is so much hype about the korres lip butters but I didn't want to get the ones in the tubs as it is just easier to use a lip balm stick. I really like this product it is smoothing, hydrating and it does impart a really good amount of rosy red to the lips. Recommended.

6. Burt's Bees Beeswax Lip Balm: I bought this a week or so ago and I haven't been able to put it down since I received it! I bought it from feelunique as they send an email offer saying that if you bought anything you would get a free mini noble isle shower gel (code: fireside) so I did. I didn't expect to love this but I do! The balm isn't very glossy which I like, it leaves my lips looking/feeling like skin but it is really hydrating. Very highly recommended!

7. Jason Aloe & Beeswax Lip balm: I received this in a beauty box and it isn't a brand that I have used before but I have heard a lot of good things about this brands ethics and their hair/body products. The lip balm smells/tastes a bit like minty chocolate which I don't usually like but this balm is really nice. It is hydrating and smoothing but it is not my favourite one in my collection. Recommended.

8. Chapstick Original (Limited edition Union flag design): I bought this as it was on sale on urban outfitters for £1.50. I really like this, I used to get the cherry one when I was younger and I forgot how good these lip balms were until now. Recommended.

9. Nivea Hydro Care Balm: I received this as part of a gift set at Christmas and I didn't expect to like it, as I don't really like Nivea products too much but it is a great balm. It is very smoothing and very glossy. If you like glossy lip balms then this is for you but I am not to keen on glossy balms so I won't buy this.

10. Blistex Raspberry Lemonade Blast: I was completely sucked into buying this because of the name - how could I resist? The balm itself is smoothing and hydrating and this balm tastes like sweets/sherbet that I ate as a child and I cant quite place the taste. It is very nostalgic and I should really use this balm more.

11. Nuxe Reve De Miel Lip Balm Stick: This balm has been raved about so much - the pot version anyway. I bought the stick balm as it was cheaper and I use stick balms more than lip balms in pots. I really like this balm, it is hydrating, smoothing and it calms irritation but it is not as good as the Caudalie lip conditioner which I ran out of months ago.

12. Mountain Dew Lip Balm: I bought this novelty lip balm from Urban outfitters (where else) as it is American and I am a sucker for American things, whether it is American cosmetics or American food! I have never tried mountain dew, the drink, but I really like the scent/taste of this balm. The balm tastes/smells sweet and refreshing and the balm is really hydrating without being overly glossy which I like. This can be found on ebay.

There you have it, my entire lip balm collection, although I will probably buy more soon! My favourites are the Rodial glam balm, Burt's bees beeswax stick, the korres lip butter and the original chapstick. I hope this was helpful!

A Week in Photographs #9

Blue sky // Snow // Snow
New mascara and polish // Ciate 'my fair lady' // Loreal 402
DP jeans // Forever 21 Jumper // Ciate 'my fair lady'
My week has consisted of university work, new beauty finds, snow and arm knitting! This week has been a bit strange - firstly, some of my modules at uni have finished so I will now be spending most of my time at home doing my essays and dissertation (yey, sarcasm). Also university was closed for a day this week because of the snow! So with all of my uni work, reviews and blog posts to do, what did I spend my time doing...sorting out other peoples birthday presents, shopping and painting my nails! I have been loving the Ciate 'my fair lady' polish but the highlight polish of the week has to be the Loreal Colour Riche Polish in the shade '402' - the formula of this polish is incredible, I have to get more! The last photographs show one of my outfits this week (Monday or Tuesday I think) which I went out in the snow in. The jumper is really nice and warm but it is really heavy! And today, I went to my aunties, after an eye test, and a saw an image of pinterest about 'arm knitting' so I tried it at my aunties (she is amazing at any form of knitting!) and it is safe to say I am not very good at knitting but arm knitting was quite interesting! Anyway that was my week, hope you all had a great week!

The winner of my 200 follower giveaway is: Abbie Webber! Here is a link to her blog, the winner has been contacted but if there is no reply I will pick another winner. Thank you to everyone who took part, there were so many entries!

I will be creating a worldwide giveaway soon where you can win a Urban Decay 24/7 eyeshadow pencil and a Diorshow Newlook Mascara! All of the prizes for the UK giveaway and the worldwide giveaway where bought with my own money (no sponsors).

High-End Beauty Wishlist #1

Thursday, February 07, 2013
Here is my high-end beauty wish list - I also have a drug store (high street) wish list coming soon too. I have wanted to buy these products for so long and I have come very close to purchasing them in the past but I think I will make it my mission to buy all of these products this year!
All images above are from Google.co.uk

1. YSL Touche Eclat Foundation: I have wanted to try this foundation since it was released last year. I haven't tried the YSL Touch Eclat concealer/highlighter pen but this foundation just sounds amazing. I have read a lot of reviews about this foundation and most of them were good and this product has been featured in a few 2012 favourites. The foundation seems to be aimed at dry skin which is what I have and I have tried a small sample of this foundation (link to my initial impressions here) and I do really like it - I may have to buy the full size, although I have quite a few foundations already.

2. Chanel Illusion D'ombre 'Illusoire': I have also wanted to try these cream/mousse eyeshadows from Chanel since they were released lat year too. I could decide between the shades 'emerveille' which is a champagne shimmery shade but I think I will have to buy the shade 'illusoire' which is a taupe/purple/grey shade!

3. Chanel Rouge Coco 'Mademoiselle': Yet another product from Chanel - I haven't bought a full size product from Chanel before. I was sold on this lipstick when I saw the advertisement with Vanessa Paradis wearing this shade - I have to buy it some time this year, or ask for it for my birthday!

4. Nars Velvet Matte Lip Pencil 'Bahama': I already have one of the Nars Velvet Matte Lip Pencil in the shade 'Dolce Vita' which I love - the shade, application and wear are fantastic, in my opinion. The shade 'Bahama' looks amazing so I will have to get it as I know the product is great.

5. Nars Nail Varnish 'Superstar': I will have to buy this product soon as it is part of the Andy Warhol collection which is limited edition I think so I will have to get it soon. You may see this product in a haul in the next few weeks!

Don't forget to enter my giveaway *uk only* - it ends this sunday (10th feb)!

January Empties: Skincare

Wednesday, February 06, 2013
1. Dermalogica Clean Start Wash Off Cleanser: This is my second travel size bottle of this product (I received them both in beauty boxes). Here is the link to my empties post for the first bottle. I do really like this cleanser, it foams up very well, it cleans my skin well and it doesn't irritate my sensitive skin.

2. Lush Let The Good Times Roll Cleanser: I use up the previous Dermalogica cleanser at the end of December and I finished this one a week or two ago. This cleanser is part of the Lush Christmas collection so you might not be able to buy it now. However, it is a really nice cleanser. It smells gorgeous, like vanilla, cookies and baking and it exfoliates my skin well without stripping my skin. It also doesn't irritate my skin.

3. Avene Eau Thermale Water Spray: I took this on holiday with me last august and I only used it a few times so I had some when I returned home and I used it as a toner. I just sprayed it onto a cotton pad and used it as a facial toner and it works really well as a refreshing mist and a toner. Although it is not good for setting makeup as the spray isn't a fine mist and I always get a lot of water sprayed onto my skin which is not what you want when you have just finished doing your makeup!

4. Mama Mio Mighty Moisture: I received this as a free gift with purchase from feelunique.co.uk a while ago and again I took this on holiday with me last august. I have also featured this product in a monthly favourites post. I love this product, it moisturises well, it smells nice, the packaging is fantastic and it doesn't irritate my skin.

5. Burts Bees Radiance Day Cream: I received this sample with an order a while ago and I just starting using it to get rid of it as I have so many samples but it turned out to be great! It moisturises well, it smells nice and it doesn't irritate my skin. I will definitely be looking into more Burts Bees facial moisturisers!

Snow Day & New Boohoo Dress!

Tuesday, February 05, 2013
This morning I awoke to a thin blanket of snow! I love the look of snow when it is on the ground and when it is falling but it is a pain to travel in but thankfully I have a few days off from uni anyway to do some work (coughs). So I thought I would take some pictures of my new dress (it arrived today) from Boohoo!

Here is the dress that I bought! It is the Heidi Slub Marl Skater Dress in the colour 'Charcoal' and I bought a UK size 8 which fits really well. This dress was £15.99 with VAT which I think is a really good price. I have wanted a plain, short, dark grey skater dress for a while and finally I have found it!
The dress is a really smooth, soft comfy material and it feels really nice and cosy. The dress isn't very thick so I was freezing when these photographs were being taken - and it was snowing while the pictures were being taken! The dress is dark grey but it is speckled, so it has flecks of creamy white in the material which I love!
I added a belt with the dress even though it is fitted and cinched in around the waist. The belt is from New Look (ages ago) and the tights are really thick and soft and I think they were from Primark (again, ages ago). The black heels are from pretty-small-shoes.com which specialise in small women's shoes so UK size 1-3. I love the heels they are so cute and comfy!

January Empties: Bath & Body

Tuesday, February 05, 2013
Here are my January bath and body empties - hope you enjoy!
1. Diesel Fuel For Life Shower Gel: I received this as part of a gift set I received for my 20th birthday last summer. I like the fragrance (although not as much as I thought I would) and this shower gel was ok. Firstly, the packaging for the shower gel is very cheap and the lid/cap broke the first time I used it! The scent is nice but a bit too musky for me. I tried to find a link to this product but apparently it has been discontinued.

2. Sanctuary Spa Body Polisher: I received this as part of a gift set a while ago and every month or two I like to throw them away and use a new one. This one was really dense and hard, it didn't let me create a lather with any shower gels/body washes which is really disappointing.

3. Dove Cream Oil Body Wash: I love Dove products, I love the scent of them. The scent of this product is a bit different to the original Dove scent that I love but it is still nice. This body wash lathered well, cleans well and it didn't dry out my skin. I also couldn't find this product on the boots website.

4. Boots Fair Trade Bergamot Body Butter: I received a set of five mini (50ml) body butters from this range and I really, really like them! I was surprised at how much I like them. They are not as thick or as heavy on the skin as the Body Shop Butters which I like and they absorb quickly, they smell nice and they moisturise my skin really well. Highly recommended!

5. VAV Manucure Absolue: This is a hand cream sample that I received in a beauty box a couple of months ago and it was a nice product - it absorbed well, it smells nice like lemon grass and it moisturised my hands.

6. Sebamed Body Lotion: I received a small sample of this, again from a beauty box, and as it was such a small sample I only used this as a full body moisturised one - the rest of the time I used this as a foot cream. I do like this product, I find it moisturised well and it absorbs fairly quickly but it wasn't amazing for me.

Sale Topshop jacket // Had to go back // Day out
Dotcomgiftshop order // the worst face mask ever? // Shu uemura eyelash curler
Latte // Rochdale town hall // Pinterest
Another week, another weekly round up of photographs - I can't believe how fast the weeks seem to be passing! Anyway, my week has consisted of sale finds, face masks, university work (again, its never ending!), lattes and pinterest (I know, what an exciting life I lead!). So I have finally finished two of my university essays this week, just three more to go and my dissertation then I will have finished. To get me through the mountain of essays and journal articles I have been loading up on the Nestle latte machiato instant coffee which I adore!

Aside from the uni work I have been testing out some of the beauty products that have been lying around my room - firstly the I love...Strawberries Face Mask. I received this face mask in a beauty box and I tried it at the end of last week (last Sunday I think) and it made my skin come out in a horrible red blotchy rash of some sort! I will have to make a blog post or review about that mask as it is just horrible, if you have sensitive skin I would stay clear of the I Love...Strawberries face mask. On a more positive note I have also been testing out my new Shu Uemura Eyelash Curler - I haven't stopped using it since I bought it and I LOVE IT! Also, no surprises here, but I have been loving Pinterest again this week (the cute dog photograph above is from Pinterest).

Lastly, I bought a gorgeous jacket from Topshop and it arrived a couple of days ago. It is fake leather/fur and it is just amazing. I bought it in a UK size 6 which is the size of my Topshop parka but this jacket is too small for me so I have had to send it back.

I hope everyone had a great week! x
