It's that time of the year when university students are coming to the end of heir first term at university which makes me feel incredibly old as I still remember the end of my first term, mainly because it was the day I got my first tattoo! I can't believe that I graduated from university over five years ago now and I genuinely miss university, although I could have done without the presentations and public speaking! Today's post features some of my advice and tips for freshers and those considering university next year.

Don't Leave Essays or Revision Until The Last Minute

This one might seem very simple but it's something so many students forget! Sure, most people don't want to revise or write 3000 word essays but it's always best to at least start your essay more than a few days before the deadline as it reduces so much stress. The start of an essay, in my experience, is always the most difficult part so just starting it in good time will be useful!

Utilise The Resources Available 

Tying into the previous point, utilising university resources can definitely help and help you save money in the process. Don't spend money on expensive academic books, use the library and it's catalog as well as their access to online journals, which is what I did. I only bought one or two books during my three years at university as I relied far more on the library and online journals for all of my essays and exams. Additionally, your university should have some kind of career, finance or general advice centre or contact that you can get in touch with. University is very expensive so you might as well use any many of their resources as you need.

Rent Wisely & Do Your Research 

Lastly, if you are going to be entering student housing and renting then there are lots of points to consider, not just the location and your finances but also the fine print, the facilities available, how long you will be renting for and more of the legal side of renting, all of which is important to be aware of.

I've heard so many horror stories of renting situations, especially with university students, so you might want to not share with other students. My sister personally had such an awful time renting for the second year of her degree and it was mainly related to the inconsiderate students in the property as well as the building itself which wasn't as well maintained as it should have been.

Thoroughly searching for a property that meets your expectations is just one step in the renting process. There are other, more legal aspects to renting for example you need to make sure that your landlord has permission to let that property, if they have landlord insurance and you need to know your responsibilities to your landlord. For the latter point, both yourself and your landlord have responsibilities towards each other; for the tenant you need to look after the property and inform the landlord of problems, issues that need to be fixed and minimise anti-social behaviour. However, the landlord also has responsibilities including maintaining the property, installing smoke alarms, carry out repairs etc.

My University Experience: Managing Money

If you have been following my blog for a while then you may know that I graduated from university two years ago now and I have to say it was one of the best decisions I've made, even though it can be so difficult and very stressful sometimes (especially while blogging as consistently as I could and writing my dissertation!) but I would definitely recommend it! I went to a very small campus which was part of the University of Huddersfield which was close to home so I didn't need to move out; therefore I didn't have that added financial strain. Although being a student isn't a walk in the park for anyone in terms of studying, exams and finances.

As mentioned in my previous post, the TSB student account is a great option for university students but did you know that they also have an app where you can easily manage your money? Yasmin uses the free TSB app all of the time as it is so useful for transferring money to friends/family even if they are with different banks as well as paying tax, bills or standing orders for example. The app shows your transaction history so you can see exactly how much you have spent, saved and transferred to others which makes managing your money so much easier especially as a student with student loans, grants and payments that need to be carefully managed. On the app your TSB student account will be displayed so you can monitor your finances and if you also have a TSB savings account them it too will be displayed so if you were very money savvy and forward thinking, you could transfer a certain amount of your student loan or grant into your savings account so quickly and easily - otherwise it will probably be spent on nights out! I think if you have numerous accounts (for example a student account and a savings account) then it might be useful and easier to have them with one bank, especially if you're using a banking app. 

As well as the app, you can get mobile text alerts from TSB so you receive a text reminder when you are nearing or if you have reached your limit; therefore you know if you need to cut back on the spending a little (feelin' spendy is ok sometimes but not all of the time!) or if you need to transfer money. Yasmin used the app and text alerts while at uni as it is perfect for students as it means you can avoid unplanned overdraft charges. I think both the app and text alerts will be invaluable to students as being a student can be difficult enough without adding in extra stress about managing your money and payments. 

Also, within most universities there should be student financial support where you can get general advice as the world of banking and managing money can be confusing (even if you aren't a student)! Lastly, one way of managing money that all of us could use is to shop around for the best deals and rates to make sure you are not spending more than you need to.

What To Wear On Your Graduation Day

I graduated three years ago in June and to me it feels like it was last year, I genuinely wish I could go back to university again as I loved my time there even though it was incredibly stressful and nerve wracking at times *presentations, cries*. I didn't even want to go to my graduation if I didn't get a first, thankfully I did but then came the dread of what to wear. The university I went to had a dress code of a white shirt and black pants...I only found out on the morning of my graduation that we could wear whatever we wanted, you can imagine my stress levels.

I wore a plain navy skater dress for my graduation day with black tights and black wedge heels and looking back it wasn't an awful outfit and it did fit the occasion but I wish I had been able to choose something different - I just didn't have time! Choosing an outfit for your graduation day can be so difficult as it has to be formal and practical (as you will be struggling to keep the gown and cap on at the same time), also it has to match the colours of your gown and there is no point in picking a dress or shirt with an intricate print or embellishments as you won't really see them because of the gown.

House of Fraser have some fantastic dresses and formal/workwear options that would be perfect for graduation. Here are my picks:

- Biba Lace Button Up Shirt Dress: If your university allows dresses for graduation then I think this one would be a great formal but colourful opinion - although make sure it complements the colour of your gown. It is such a fun, cute opinion.

- Yumi Net Lace Skater Dress: This is a dress I would have picked for my graduation as it is simple and black so it will go with the gown and the skater dress fit is so flattering. The lace adds a nice touch of detail and the dress could be worn to other occasions.

- Dorothy Perkins Lace Pencil Dress: Another gorgeous but formal dress would be great for graduations as the colours won't clash with the gown and it is more feminine and figure hugging compared to most formal or workwear dresses. This would be a great opinion if your graduation is in the summer as mine was as wearing a gown and cap can be a bit much!

- Warehouse Mix Lace Prom Dress: I think this dress is my favourite from the ones I have picked, it is simple but cute and formal. I love the lace detailing and navy will go with everything, that's one of the reasons I chose a navy dress for my graduation...that and I didn't really have many other choices with a hour or two to go until graduation!

- Ted Baker Crepe Suit Trousers: Some universities have a dress code for graduation as mine did until the last minute so you might have to wear a shirt and trousers. As I'm petite and I am a bit picky when it comes to clothes, it took me ages to find a decent pair of black trousers that didn't give me horrendous flashbacks of secondary school days. I love these Ted Baker trousers, they would be perfect with a cute blouse or shirt and heels although if your university has cobbled streets around it as mine does then opt for wedges - there were quite a few people falling on my graduation day thanks to stilettos!

Having been through University and come out the other end successfully, I think back to my days as a student and often realise how I could have made my life easier during those times. Perspective is a strange thing; we often realise something when it’s way too late, yet these lessons and experiences can still help us later in life.

The next best thing we can do is pass along our knowledge, in an effort to make someone else’s student life easier. That’s almost the whole purpose of this guest blog post, sharing my life in an effort to help others, but as a graduate I’m in a very good position to assist others in achieving that awesome student lifestyle, as well as avoid the common mistakes myself and many others have made.

So what steps can you take to achieve your dream student situation?

Accommodation

One lesson I’ve learnt here is not to get down about your digs. Most student homes are built for purpose; housing a large number of supposedly rowdy youths with minimal effect. This is why they may feel a bit more clinical than you’d like, but it’s nothing that a bit of interior design can’t solve. Get together with your housemates and work to create a better environment, whether you pool money to invest in essential homewares or simply contribute from personal effects.

Either way, you’re all living together, so it’s up to you to ensure your accommodation is the best it can be. With proper coordination with your housemates, there’s also plenty of ways improve your living conditions whilst also saving money. The increasing popularity of rental furniture has resulted in tailor made student furniture packages being available from several outlets; not only is this more cost effective than buying new furniture outright, but the ownership is retained by the company itself, so you don’t have to worry about complicated moving sessions or contended ownership.

An awesome student house is a combination of everybody’s efforts, so get all your housemates on board moving forward. As a student, take pragmatic steps to keep everyone on the same page. Invest in a whiteboard for making notes, so you and your housemates can keep up to speed on what you’re running low on, or what needs to be done around the house.

Career

Another big mistake many students make is indifference to the opportunities which could further their careers in the future. As such, all opportunities should be considered in terms of what kind of experience you’ll get and whether it’ll help you achieve your career goals years from now. It may be hard to see in the moment, but anything within your desired industry, whether it’s part-time or weekend work, or even an internship are all highly viable ways to boost your professional credentials whilst studying.

In most student cities, there are a wealth of these opportunities available, but you need to make an effort and look for them. Contact outlets and businesses that are relevant to your studies and enquire about work experience opportunities. The fact that you’ve made an effort will register with them, putting you in a good position to further the exchange and turn it into an opportunity. Whilst taking advantage of these opportunities is key to success, make sure you aren’t committing to something that will distract from your studies, or with little or no value to your ongoing learning.

Social Life

A balance of work and play is a recipe for the perfect student lifestyle. Party too much, and it’ll most likely interfere with your studies. Party too little, and you could end up regretting not having a full University experience. Only an appropriate combination will ensure you can enjoy the student lifestyle fully without damaging your grades.

Hiding away if you’re not comfortable socially may seem appealing, but for the good of your studies, get involved with the social student scene and give yourself access to as many resources possible. Just be confident!

My Top Five Student Money Saving Tips

I graduated from university two years ago and it was one of the best decisions I've made, even though my choice of degree isn't what I want to do now but I still have BSc (Hons) after my name! I loved my time at university even though it can be very stressful, difficult and if you are living away from home as my sister is now, then it can also be a difficult time financially. Here are some of my quick money saving tips: 

1. Savings and student bank accounts

Firstly, setting up a savings account is essential, especially as a student when all you want to do is nap and spend all of your student loans! Additionally make sure you look at all of the options for student bank accounts as there are numerous options available. TSB have a really useful savvy student guide which you can check out. Also setting a small amount of money aside is a great way of watching what you are spending/saving and if it is a small amount then it won't seem like you have no money to spend on yourself. 

2. Discount codes/websites/stores

While at university and sixth form college, I had a Unidays account which provides amazing discount codes for so many websites such as Asos and Topshop which came in so useful as no one likes to pay full price for anything, lets be honest (and it's free to join). In some stores in the UK you can just show your student ID card and you can get a 10% discount, I used mine in Topshop stores and Apple have student discounts too. 

3. Cheaper alternatives

Finding cheaper alternatives can save so much money as you don't need to buy the best brands all of the time, the store own brands are usually just as good. Also cheaper stores such as Aldi are amazing for students (well everyone really) as you get SO much for your money. As I'm a beauty blogger, I have to mention makeup at least once, switching to cheaper brands isn't difficult and it doesn't always compromise quality. Makeup and beauty brands such as Makeup Revolution, Nivea, Simple, Library of Fragrance and Essence are some of my favourite beauty brands which are so inexpensive but the quality is still fantastic. 

4. Reduce impulse spending 

Reducing impulse spending on food is an easy way to save some cash, as you can plan meals and snacks ahead of time so you don't have to go to the canteen or shop to buy more food or usually more expensive food when you could have made something at home. This method also helps with clothes shopping, I do most of my clothes shopping online so I can use discount codes but don't get carried away. Willpower isn't one of my strong suits but exercising it when you are feeling spendy will save a surprising amount of money. Friends and bloggers are great enablers but before buying something, particularly if it is a little pricey, I always ask myself - do I really need/want it...if it's makeup then the answer is usually yes.  

5. Earn extra money

This may seem like a no-brainer or as a student you might not have time for a 'proper' job but there are other ways to earn a little extra cash or online vouchers. I have been writing product reviews online so it is definitely worth a shot (you have to be consistent though)! There are also a lot of online survey sites out there that pay but I personally haven't tried them.

Three Years Of Blogging: Misconceptions

Todays post is the another blog posts all about my experience of blogging as my blog has just turned three years old *cries like a proud parent* so I thought it would be a great time to share my experience and tips! This post is all about the perceptions and misconceptions go blogging. 

Even though 'big' bloggers have branched out into mainstream media and more people know about blogging, especially brands. It is still relatively unknown to the average person and if you are not a blogger yourself then you may have some misconceptions of what blogging is all about. First up, the biggest misconception, in my opinion:

- It's not easy! Don't start a blog expecting to be the next Zoella within three months. There is so much time, work and effort that goes into blogging and I don't think most non-bloggers or new bloggers realise that; I always see blogs that haven't been updates for months or ones that have been abandoned. I've worked hard for three years on my blog even while writing my university dissertation. You also learn so much, for example, I had no idea about PR/digital marketing, SEO, editing photos, the technical side of photography or networking before I started blogging. It's a steep learning curve and there is always more to learn but if you stick with it, it can be incredibly rewarding in the end. 

- Blogging consists of a massive community of people from all around the world and even just through twitter chats or commenting on blogs, it's such supportive and a friendly community to be part of! It's not a very lonely or exclusive hobby to have. 

- I don't get 'freebies', this is one misconception that really annoys me. Yes, I didn't physically pay for certain items or experiences but that doesn't mean I don't work for those products/experiences. So much time, effort, work and dedication goes into blogging. 

- We are not all hysterical girls that are crazy about makeup, I do love makeup but it's not a stupid or frivolous passion. A lot of bloggers, such as myself are university graduates; others are university students or professionals with the fields of PR and digital marketing. Also some bloggers have made blogging into a full time career (which is something I would love to do) and it's a great addition to your CV. 

- Blogging is not an unknown, uninfluential hobby. So many brands and PR companies recognise the influence, popularity and relatability of blogs. Blogs have a specific audience and relationship to consumers, unlike any other media so products can be advertised to their specific consumer market.

Halifax Giving Extra Campaign

I was contacted just before Christmas to see if I wanted to take part in an amazing campaign by Halifax, whereby I was kindly given a *£50 Amazon gift card and I had to buy presents for someone important in my life as a extra gift at Christmas. I think the campaign idea is very generous and I am grateful for being contacted. I picked my younger sister as the recipient of my extra gifts as she is living away at university and as I have just graduated I know how stressful it can be. 

Here are the gifts I picked as a giving extra hamper at Christmas. I made this small hamper up with items that I knew she would love and also that we could share together and she can take the items back to university with her too. My theme for the hamper is: movie/tv night in. Myself and my sister love movie nights with family and friends so I put together a selection of tv/film, food and home ware picks. 

The tv pick is Sherlock, we both love the BBC tv show Sherlock (so excited for season 3). For the film pick, I knew she wanted this film for a while so I chose The Impossible dvd. Both picks are not very christmasy I know! As for food I chose popcorn, well you can't have a movie/tv night in without popcorn. I also saw these cute popcorn boxes (eight in pack) on Amazon and I just thought they were so cute! I added a novelty mug to the hamper as  we both have a small large mug obsession and this one with the little pocket at the front for biscuits is adorable! Staying with the cute, food theme I added some Yankee Candle Christmas Cookie tea lights which smell amazing, Aimee loves anything that smells like cookies and baking (as do all of us I think!). Movie/TV nights in are all about cosiness, I added a couple of pairs of Sleeperzz soft bed socks which are incredibly soft! The last couple of items are more home ware, generic additions - the wicker basket that I used to store all of the goodies in is obviously really practical and also well made and cute. Finally, a patriotic cushion - Aimee loves my union flag cushion so I bought her a 'british & quite relaxed' cushion cover for her room at university.

Office/Interview Makeup + Outfit Ideas

Interviews, whether they are for college, university, jobs or internships, can be very stressful especially as they are so important; a first impression really counts as an interviewer can make up their mind about an interviewee within as little as 90 seconds! 

Depending on the interview and what you are applying for, you may have to dress smart/casual or very formal. For example, I had a interview at the University of Manchester a few years ago and I wore dark wash skinny jeans, a white top, simple ballet flats and a black blazer. Other candidates were dressed more casually and others wore suits which I personally felt was quite over the top. I think that even though it is a formal interview situation and you want to look your best, you also have to make sure you are comfortable in what you are wearing - not just in terms of how the clothes fit but how the clothes make you feel, if you are not comfortable or confident in a particular outfit then you are not going to look as confident, in my opinion. 

Newlook have a fantastic range of work/formal wear from blouses, skirts, trousers, bags and shoes; all of which are so reasonably priced. I think a pair of black skinny jeans, a cute blouse, heels and a black blazer is such a feminine, work appropriate or interview outfit without being frumpy! However, if the place of work is more casual or related to fashion/clothing then you may want to dress a bit more colourfully and let your own style show through while still being office appropriate. 

With regards to makeup, a study conducted by Etcoff  et al (2001) demonstrated 'that people judged women with makeup as more likable, competent and trustworthy than those with bare faces — though wearing too much makeup undermined those impressions'. While this may seem unnecessary to some, I personally love wearing makeup! Wearing makeup does make me feel so much more confident in any situation. I would personally stick to makeup looks that I wear on a daily basis, as I am already comfortable wearing that makeup look and I am used to created it so I wouldn't be spending more time on it than I usually would. I would gravitate towards more natural makeup and long wearing formulas.

Here are a few tips: 

- Don't spend much more time on your makeup/hair than you usually would as it can just make you more nervous and anxious as well as potentially late for your interview!

- Wear what you are comfortable with and shop the high street for fantastic office/work wear from stores such as H&M, Newlook and Next

- Pick your outfit and makeup the evening before so everything is laid out ready for the morning 

- Office/interview wear doesn't have to be really boring and frumpy, let your personality and style show through while still dressing formally

Aunties Birthday Meal....Indian Food....OOTE with my sister

My week has consisted of: Coffee, University assignment deadlines, New makeup bits, Sale shopping, eBay shopping, Indian food and Krispy Kreme doughnuts! Firstly, uni deadlines, I have meetings on Mondays with my dissertation adviser and I had a 4000 word essay deadline on Wednesday which was not stressful at all...(it was)!

Anyway, university aside, I have been doing some cheeky shopping this week but I think it is completely justified because they were all sale items (mostly...). I bought a 'new' phone from eBay, it is the Blackberry 9360 and I love it! I also made an order from Spacenk (haul post coming soon) and I received three samples, two of which were from the very expensive (but apparently amazing) brand Eve Lom. I also received some Loreal makeup this week from my mum - there was a fare at my primary school and she got me a couple of makeup sets! 

This week I have been obsessed with Krispy Kreme doughnuts, I have gone through three this week! I haven't tried them before this week but now I love them. I never eat sweet things really and I hardly eat chocolate/sweets but these are gorgeous. I had two of the chocolate pecan ones which are amazing but they are a bit expensive. Speaking of gorgeous food, I went to an Indian restaurant last night with the family (my parents, sister and aunties). I do love Indian food, there is so much of it in Britain. We went to Karims restaurant in Bowlee. Also as you can see from my outfit of the evening, I bought the stripy jumper I wanted from the New look sale (it is featured in my wish list, link here).

Exploring Greater Manchester with MegaBus

Last month I published my first post all about sites to visit this autumn in and around Greater Manchester with hotels.com and I promised a second post with more recommendations so if you're looking for places to visit in Greater Manchester on a budget, I hope today's post helps. MOSI, Manchester Museum, Police Museum, Pankhurst Centre & Art Gallery

First up, I wanted to mention all of the fantastic free museums and art galleries I've visited in Manchester that I recommend visiting. They're all free but it would be great if you made a donation when you visit. My favourite museum in Manchester used to be the Museum of Science and Industry which is a museum I've been visiting on and off since I was a child and I visited most recently this summer; however it isn't nearly as a good as I remember from my childhood or even from five or so years ago sadly. Although if you have children, it would be a great rainy day museum to visit.

The Manchester Museum is much more up my street and it's owned by the University of Manchester so it's free, filled with so many interesting artefacts and it's the UK's largest university museum so there's lots to see. If you're looking for an insight into local history then you can't go wrong with either the Pankhurst Centre (it's very small and a quick look around) or the Police Museum, although annoyingly the latter is only open one day each week but if it is open then definitely check it out.

Manchester Cathedral

Another free site to visit is Manchester Cathedral which is where a few of my ancestor were married! There is debate about the origins of the original church but the construction of the church on the site it is today began in 1421 in the Neo-gothic style. Although the cathedral was extensively damaged during the Manchester blitz of 1940 which destroyed all of the stained glass, organ, the roof and medieval chapels. However, it is still an utterly beautiful building with archives dating back to the 1400's and 16th century workmanship. The cathedral is situated in the city centre and is close by other sites such as Chethams Library and the main shopping areas so it's within easy walking distance  and worth a visit.

Dunham Massey & Lyme Park

If you have already visited the city centre and it's sights then why not head out of the centre to the beautiful Dunham Massey or Lyme Park, both of which are National Trust sites so if you have a National Trust membership then you're entry and parking are free. They are both located less than an hours drive from Manchester so they are perfect for a day trip outside of the city, particularly at this time of the year when the leaves are turning and there are seasonal events starting.

I recommend all of the National Trust sites I've visited in the North West such as Dunham Massey, Lyme Park, Gawthorpe Hall, Tatton Park, Quarry Bank Mill and Chatsworth, the latter is a little further to travel but it's well worth it. Of the sites that are closer to Manchester, I think Dunham Massey is my favourite as not only is there a historic mansion to explore but the gardens are beautiful and the deer even more so. If you follow me on Instagram (@ofbeautyand), you'll have seen me exploring Manchester recently and I visit Dunham Massey fairly regularly too.

Dovestones & Hollingworth Lake 

If you want to go for an autumnal walk around Greater Manchester this month then I highly recommend visiting either Hollingworth lake (which would be great for children) or Dovestones (which is a little more challenging, busy and can be more than a bit muddy). Hollingworth Lake is about an hour from the city centre but it's perfect for a break from the city with beautiful views over the lake and areas of children to play.

Dovestones is my favourite of the two as I love the views all around Dovestones and as you can see from the photo above, it's even more stunning during the autumn months. Both are free to visit, although you do have to pay for parking and the car park at Dovestones is tiny so visit during the week, if you can, to avoid queues and crowds.

MegaBus

Today's post is in collaboration with MegaBus which have just launched six new coaches on their London to Aberdeen route with stops including Birmingham, Manchester, Glasgow and Dundee. The coaches all have wireless charging and tables (available on seats at the front of the coach), a new interior design and 24 reservable seats.

I haven't tried MegaBus before but I've always been tempted, especially this summer as the prices are significantly cheaper than trains which are becoming even more expensive or the cost of driving, petrol and parking. I would love to visit Oxford, York, Stirling and Aberdeen, all of which are available on Megabus routes at fantastic prices!

Blogmas and my week in photographs!

Cold, Foggy, Wet, Raining, Candles and University assignments....a horrible good week! Firstly, the weather - as I am British I have to talk about the weather - it is an unspoken rule within British society to talk and complain about the weather at least once a day! The weather in England has been horrible over the past week or two with flooding, below freezing temperatures and rain or fog on the other days - although I know it could be worse but even when the weather is gorgeous the British like to complain anyway! Secondly, university, as I am now in my third and final year of my psychology degree I have had a lot of assignment, dissertation and lecture stress so I have been relaxing with extra pampering whenever I can which accounts for the large mountain of empty products for the month of November! Photograph below of the body, bath and pamper products I have been loving this week. I have also been burning a lot of candles this week and through out November really. This week I have been burning my Yankee Candle Eggnog Tea Lights which isn't my favourite scent by far but it is quite nice overall, although I don't think I will buy this scent again.

A Week in Photographs #9

My week has consisted of university work, new beauty finds, snow and arm knitting! This week has been a bit strange - firstly, some of my modules at uni have finished so I will now be spending most of my time at home doing my essays and dissertation (yey, sarcasm). Also university was closed for a day this week because of the snow! So with all of my uni work, reviews and blog posts to do, what did I spend my time doing...sorting out other peoples birthday presents, shopping and painting my nails! I have been loving the Ciate 'my fair lady' polish but the highlight polish of the week has to be the Loreal Colour Riche Polish in the shade '402' - the formula of this polish is incredible, I have to get more! The last photographs show one of my outfits this week (Monday or Tuesday I think) which I went out in the snow in. The jumper is really nice and warm but it is really heavy! And today, I went to my aunties, after an eye test, and a saw an image of pinterest about 'arm knitting' so I tried it at my aunties (she is amazing at any form of knitting!) and it is safe to say I am not very good at knitting but arm knitting was quite interesting! Anyway that was my week, hope you all had a great week!

This week has consisted of: university work (it is never ending!), shopping, knitting, swatching, noodles and snow (for one whole day!). Firstly, the snow, we had a good amount of snow on Tuesday/Wednesday this week which was great as I wasn't in uni. If you have seen my sale outfits posts then you will have seen me stood in the snow (freezing to death)! 

This week I received a new makeup brush, the Illamasqua Blush Brush from their new collection imperfection 2013. The brush was £28.50 which is really expensive, in my opinion, but I did get 10% off because I bought it from Asos and they have student discount all year round. As soon as I saw the brush I knew I wanted it - Mac released a similar brush a few months ago, the Mac 163 which I wanted but it went out of stock so quickly I didn't end up getting it but the Illamasqua brush is just fantastic. Full review of the Illamasqua brush coming soon. Also some new posts coming soon on my neutral palettes, the last row of photographs shows me in the process of swatching the shadows of the NYX Caviar and Bubbles Palette. 

Another new product I received this week was from a website called whats in my handbag, I requested a sample of the new Jimmy Choo fragrance and it arrived so quickly - the website and delivery is great and the sample was free! Unfortunately I am not too keen on the fragrance, it is quite generic and it doesn't last long on my skin. 

My obsessions this week include: the Burt's Bees beeswax lip balm, knitting and QI - a British quiz show (of sorts).
