April + May Beauty Favourites 2016

April + May Beauty Favourites 2016
I haven't published a beauty favourites post for ages so this will be a culmination of my April and May beauty favourites...even though it's almost half way through June, oops! Some of these products are new discoveries and others are products that I've loved for a year or more.

Makeup
My favourite product that I've discovered so far this year is the Vichy Dermablend Setting Powder which is probably the best setting powder I've ever tried. It is so lightweight but it helps mattify the skin without ever looking dry, caky or noticeable on the skin. It's perfect and I've been using it every time I wear makeup. Next up is another product I've been using constantly and I'm so surprised I haven't run out of it yet, as I use it so much, is the Max Factor Smooth Effect Foundation - I think it is discontinued but you can still buy it online. It's the best foundation I've come across, especially for dry/very dry skin, as it doesn't emphasis flakiness or dryness so naturally it's my go to foundation.

April and May have been great months for quick, easy and reliable products for me and the Benefit Gimme Brow is definitely all of those! I've pretty much run out of it but I can't part with it as it makes filling in my brows a few seconds job instead of it taking minutes. I want to try the Essence version so if anyone has tried it, let me know in the comments! My penultimate makeup item is the new(ish) Freedom Pro Studio Strobe Cream which is perfect for adding to your foundation as it is very subtle but it gives my skin a gorgeous natural radiance. Lastly, the Too Faced Hangover Primer which I received months and month ago and I've been using it consistency since then - it is a silicone free primer which is great for me as I don't like the feeling of silicone primers on my skin. It helps my makeup last and it doesn't irritate my eczema, win win.
April + May Beauty Favourites 2016
I don't really have any body, nail, hair or fragrance favourites, apart from the gorgeous Bodhi and Birch Ylang Ylang Incensa Shower Gel and the Molton Brown Ylang Ylang Lotion but I'll talk about them more in the June favourites.

Skincare
I do have two skincare favourites though, the first of which is a long term favourite of mine, the Jurlique Balancing Mist which I sadly finished a couple of weeks ago and I definitely need another as the weather has been so hot recently which is so odd for Manchester and the Jurlique mist is the perfect refresher and hydrator. Lastly for my April and May beauty favourites, the Dermalogica Super Sensitive Shield which I'm surprised I like as much as I do because my skin can be a bit sensitive to SPF but it's fine with this. I do always tend to forget to apply SPF but I'm been using this in place of my primer on sunny days and even though I don't know if it's working, it feels good to protect my skin...if that makes any sense at all!

What beauty products have you been loving in April or May?

2017 Beauty Favourites

Monday, January 08, 2018
It's finally time to publish my 2017 beauty favourites post which was so difficult to narrow down but here it is! I have some brand new favourites and some from 2016 as well which have been consistently my favourite products so I couldn't leave them out even if they have appeared in other favourites posts. Let's start with the best category, makeup:

Makeup
I'm not going to rank any of the products but one of my very top favourites has to be the fantastic Temple Spa Concealer which was sent as a surprise blogger mail package and I've loved it since I received it. If you have dry skin as I do then you'll know how difficult it can be to use a foundation or concealer that doesn't emphasis dryness which this one doesn't so it's been perfect for the colder months!

I have two palettes that I've been loving in 2017, one of which is an old favourite and it's the Too Faced Semi Sweet Palette which has pretty much everything I need in one palette! I've also been loving TheBalm Meet Matt(e) Palette which is great too and I cannot recommend them enough. A mascara that has wowed me this year is the DHC Double Protection Mascara as it is so gentle and easy to remove with just warm water.

Lastly for the base products, the first is the Real Techniques Miracle Sponge (from face.co.uk) which is a great alternative to the very expensive Beauty Blender. My favourite foundation of the past couple of years as been the Bourjois 10 Hour Sleep Effect Foundation and I ran out of it while I was half way through my makeup for New Years eve! Now that I'm having to use other foundations, I'm realising how much I loved it and how wonderful it made my skin look. The final makeup is my much loved Essence Fixing Powder which has been a favourite of mine for the past two to three years.

Skincare
I only have two new skincare favourites this year, the first being the Eucerin AtoControl Cream which I'm using now and I'm loving it for my eczema prone skin and secondly the Merci Handy Facial Mists which were essentials during the ridiculously how summer days we had last year. I've also been loving all of my Antipodes skincare and I cannot recommend their products enough!

Bodycare & Misc
My final category is body care, haircare and miscellaneous products but I'll start with the most impressive semi-permanent hair colour I've ever used which is the Joico Colour Butters! 2017 was the year that I bleached the ends of my hair and dyed it a range of colours. The Jocio Colour Butters were the most incredibly vibrant, quick (less than ten minutes to develop) and long lasting semi-permanent hair colours ever!

For my other haircare favourites, I've loved all of the Colab dry shampoos I've tried and I've just bought a few more as they're fantastic. I was very kindly sent the GHD Ruby Styler last year and it's been one of the few few hair tools I've used and I cannot recommend GHDs enough.

Finally onto the bodycare products, a couple of essentials that I loved in 2017 include the Organii Lavender Liquid Soap which smells heavenly, the Cetraben Lotion that is a miracle product for the eczema on my hands and the Bomb Cosmetics Hand Treatment which is one of my favourite and creams ever!

Another heavenly product has to be the Crabtree and Evelyn Lavender and Espresso Body Butter which is the most relaxing and unique smelling body butter and one of the most moisturising. I also have to mention the Feather and Down Pillow Spray which I've been using for a while now and I cannot recommend it enough and finally for my favourites, the Lush Get Closer Dusting Powder which is a great multi-use talc.

Honourable Mentions
I obviously have to include a few honourable mentions in this post as there were so many wonderful products from 2017 such as the Nars Velvet Matte Lip Pencil in Dolce Vita, the Antipodes Manuka Honey Eye Cream, the Essence All Eyes On Me Waterproof Mascara, Eylure Brow Gel and the Bumble and Bumble Pre-a-Powder.

Have you tried any of these products? What were your favourites from 2017?

2019 Highlights + Favourites

Saturday, January 04, 2020
Happy New Year! Today's post is going to be my yearly wrap-up of my favourite moments, memorable events and a run down of my monthly lifestyle favourites from 2019. I've already posed my reading review for the year and I will also be posting my beauty favourites post soon, along with my 2020 goals. 2019 has been a bit of a mixed year from reaching blog milestones, having eye surgery, visiting new cities and switching to a fully vegan diet to reading slumps, gaining weight, new tattoos and everything in-between.

January: Fully vegan & ONE MILLION blog views
The first notable event for 2019 was switching to a fully vegan diet in January 2019. I have taken part in #veganuary each year for the past three or so years now but I decided to switch fully in 2019 and I'm so glad I did. There were some amazing vegan food releases in 2019 such as the rather irresistible Greggs vegan sausage roll, Papa Johns pizza, the M&S Plant Kitchen range and even more coming in 2020.

The second notable moment of January 2019 was that my little blog reached over one million page views. When I started my blog back in 2012, I never thought anything would come of it but I've been so lucky to work with a tonne of amazing brands and PRs, I've been invited to incredible events, I've received gorgeous products and its something I love to do.

January Favourites: Clean Reserve Rain and Blond Rose fragrances, Freshly Hand Treatment, Maybelline Total Temptation Brow Definer and the Nightrunner book series.
February: Visiting London, first class train & lots of sponsored posts
February had a few milestones too including reaching over 9,000 followers on Twitter and having the most sponsored posts I've ever had in one month! I also visited London in February with my mum, thanks to gifted first class train tickets from Virgin Trains. We visited a couple of sights I've been to before (Harrods, the Natural History Museum and the Science Museum) as well as the Victoria and Albert Museum and Kensington Palace which we hadn't visited before.

February Favourites: Grace by Lewis Capaldi, Caudalie Vinosource Sorbet, Nars Velvet Matte Lip Pencils, Ink Master TV Show and Pizza Hut vegan pizza.

March: No eczema!
As a freelancer, money can be very inconsistent but thankfully my roll of sponsored posts continued into March. I also started loosing weight again and exercising more (ha, that didn't last). The biggest change that happened in March was that I hadn't had any eczema flareups on my hands or face for weeks. Since becoming fully vegan at the start of the year, after two months, I noticed that I didn't have any flareups (and the only thing I changed was to stop eating dairy) and thankfully I haven't had any eczema on my hands or face all year which is just incredible! I've suffered with eczema for over ten years, especially around my eyes, so to just not have to deal with it all year has been almost unbelievable!

March Favourites: Jenna Marbles Youtube channel, Parks and Recreation TV Show, Brooklyn 99, The Grand Tour TV Show, Holika Holika Moisturising BB Cream and Maybelline Brow Tattoo.
April: Visiting Edinburgh for the first time + best reading month ever
Edinburgh is a city I've wanted to visit for a while and back in April, the train tickets from Manchester to Edinburgh were really cheap so myself and my mum visited Edinburgh for a couple of days! We visited Holyrood Palace (which was amazing), Edinburgh Castle and the National Museum of Scotland (which sadly wasn't so amazing). I definitely want to visit Edinburgh again but maybe during the summer months when it isn't so cold!

I also visited the Manchester Art Gallery to see their Da Vinci exhibit, Tatton Park and Gardens and saw The King and I in the Manchester Palace Theatre in April. April was a quiet blogging month but it was a fantastic reading month as I managed to read 20 books.

April Favourites: Holika Holika BB Cream, Follow Your Heart Vegan Ranch, Cicaplast Baume B5, Operative Live TV Show and Soaper Duper Yuzufruit and Fig Body Butter.

May: Laser eye surgery consultation
Laser eye surgery is something I've wanted to look into for years but naturally the idea of eye surgery, not to mention the cost, is a little daunting but I had a consultation at the Laser Vision clinic in the Manchester Royal Eye Hospital in May (it's a private clinic in an NHS hospital). Thankfully I was suitable for the surgery but as my eyes were incredible dry, I had to rectify that with antibiotics and drops for a couple of months beforehand. May also included the EU vote (I voted to remain in the EU) which we all know the results of (still not over it and I don't think I will be until we remain in the EU).

May Favourites: Sabrina Netflix Show, Game Of Thrones Season 8, Omorovicza skincare, Rimmel and Hatari (Iceland's Eurovision entry).
June: New tattoos + heatwave
June was another quiet month but I did go to the Summer Fare at my old primary school, visited the beautiful Quarry Bank Mill and had a tattoo consultation. I received two new tattoos in June and I don't know why but it seems to be a habit for me of getting tattoos in pairs. Most of mine were done by the lovely Zu at Flesh Tattoo in Manchester.

Favourites: Amazon Prime, The Grand Tour, Ben and Jerrys Vegan Fudge Brownie Ice Cream.

July: Laser eye surgery + highest paid blog post
After a couple of months of eye drops, I was finally booked to have another laser eye surgery consultation and at the end of July I had the surgery. I've already published an in-depth post about my experiences of the consultation, the surgery itself and the recovery, if you want to read that for more information. The laser eye surgery option I decided on was very expensive (£3,800!) so it was very timely that I was paid the highest amount I've ever received for a single blog post in July!

However, before the surgery I visited the MOSI and the roman ruins in Manchester with a friend and I visited Leeds which is a city I've only been to once before - we went to the Royal Armoury which was well worth a visit. Also July 2019 marked 500 books read since January 2017!

July Favourites: Tour De France, Wimbledon, BareMinerals Good Hydrations Primer, Daisy London Estee Lalonde necklaces and Helmans Vegan Mayonnaise.
August: Laser eye surgery recovery, appointments + my birthday
August is my birthday month so I caught up with friends and visited the beautiful Tatton Park and Gardens and visited Dunham Massey. I reached my reading goal of 100 books and I was lucky enough to get more sponsored posts in August. However, the main focus of the month was my recovery from laser eye surgery as I had the surgery on the 31st July so August was filled with eye drops, eye appointments and recovery.

August Favourites: Daisy London x Estee Lalonde sunburst shield necklace, Viscotears, Neom x LookFantastic box and Nordgreen watch.

September: Christmas planning, visiting sights around Manchester + new camera
Following on from August with another eye appointment and more recovery time but I was discharged from the clinic in September which was fantastic! I visited quite a few sites around Manchester in September including watching the final stage of the OVO Energy Tour Of Britain (which was very exciting and the first sporting event I've been to), visiting the Pankhurst Centre (which is right next to the hospital I went to for my eye surgery) and I also visited the Greater Manchester Fire Station Museum before it closed for refurbishment.

I also started planning my Christmas content and bought a new camera in September. I have wanted a new camera for a while and I finally settled on buying the Sony A7iii which I'm very happy with and I cannot recommend it enough. Lastly for September, I made vegan speatzle for the first time and fell in love - it's almost a cross between fresh pasta and dumplings and it's incredible.

September Favourites: Rugby World Cup, Rimmel Super Gel Polish, Lush Soak and Float Shampoo Bar and Lush Cork Pots.
October: visiting Glasgow for the first time, gifted hotel stay, new tattoos, exploring Manchester + hair salon review
October, for me, usually focuses solely on halloween makeup but I didn't have time to create any halloween looks as October was an incredibly busy and a surprisingly amazing month. I was gifted a free hotel stay in Glasgow so myself and a friend visited the Glasgow Museum of Modern Art and went on a tour the next day including Stirling Castle, Lock Lomond, the Trossachs National Park and the Glengoyne Whisky Distillery - I hadn't been to any of those places before. I cannot recommend the Hallmark Hotel in Glasgow enough or Rabbies tours! Check out my instagram stories highlights for more photos.

As well as visiting a few new cities in Scotland, there were more firsts in October including being tattooed in a private studio by a tattoo artist I never thought I'd be tattooed by (as she lives and works in New York). I couldn't be happier with my two new tattoos by Rachel Hauer, check out her instagram - you'll want to be tattooed by her too. Another first was a free haircut as part of a salon review from Melissa Timperley Salon in Manchester which was amazing and I cannot recommend the salon enough.

I'm not finished with my October highlights, as I said, it was a busy but fantastic month...I published a couple of posts about sites to visit around Greater Manchester in October so I visited Quarry Bank Mill (again), Jodrell Bank and Manchester's China Town. I also started my christmas gift guides in October and loved watching the Rugby World Cup but sadly it wasn't all good news as October was my worst reading month in three years.

October Favourites: Rugby world cup, Barry M Brow Wand, Ark Skincare Age Defend Replenishing Moisturiser, Ink Master TV Show, Benefit Roller Lash Mascara and SportFX Mascara.

November & December: Christmas gift guides, christmas planning + new favourite music
I'm grouping November and December together as they were both fairly quiet months but I did have a stall at a christmas fare, I visited the Manchester Christmas Markets twice and voted in the general election - this year has been horrendous in terms of politics in the UK. It's not all doom and gloom though as I discovered a few new music favourites in the past two months including BTS (yes, years behind everyone I know) and a few new to me songs from one of my favourite brands, Panic At The Disco. November and December were months of new food discoveries too such as vegan sushi and gochujang, both of which I cannot get enough of.

November & December Favourites: Hustle Butter, BTS, Panic At The Disco, ACDC, Latest In Beauty Boxes, Candy Kittens sweets, vegan sushi and gochujang.

Overall, 2019 was a pretty good year, with a few ups and downs but mostly positives and a lot of firsts, from having surgery for the first time and visiting new cities to blog milestones and becoming vegan. I was also able to work with a few new brands in 2019 including: Wing Yip, Daisy London, Scrivens, Yes To, Mitch's Kitchen, TJ Hughes, Hallmark Hotels, Melissa Timperley Salons, Megabus and many more which I'm very grateful for!

Stay tuned for more 2019 review posts, 2020 goals and my #veganuary content!

Winter Beauty + Lifestyle Favourites 2019

Monday, January 06, 2020
Today's post is my long overdue winter favourites post featuring all of the beauty products and beauty related topics that I've loved over the past three months! I have been very lucky to receive so many amazing products throughout the year, some of which will have made it into my 2019 beauty favourites post which is coming soon.

*Melissa Timperley Salon & Cut
First up, I wanted to rave about my experience at the Melissa Timperley salon in Manchester again - I have a full review on my blog already. I was very kindly invited to the salon for a free cut back in October and usually my anxiety gets in the way of me accepting lovely opportunities but I'm so glad that I ignored it this time because I haven't had a nicer or a more stress-free salon experience. I'm not one of those people who enjoys going to a salon or spa as I find it to be very awkward and anxiety inducing but the salon and staff were so welcoming and I will be booking another appointment very soon (with my own money, not for a review) for a trim and *maybe* balayage.
Makeup, Haircare & Skincare
Let's start off my makeup favourites with the lipsticks I've been loving over the past three or so months. My most expensive is the Lisa Eldridge lipstick in Velvet Muse which is the most perfect everyday shade, the packaging is beautiful and the texture is silky smooth even on incredibly dry lips. Another everyday shade (and the one I forgot to include in the collage above) is *Berry Nude by Green People which is the easiest dark berry shade that lasts well and is the ideal winter shade. The final two lipsticks are both reds and the *Laura Mercier Velour Extreme Matte in Dominate has to be the quickest red lip to apply ever and the *Toledo by Nars is another easy, wintery red.

I do have more makeup favourites such as the Barry M Brow Wand, Holika Holika Moisturising BB Cream, *SportFX Game Changing Mascara and more but those will be included in my overall 2019 favourites posts which will be live next week. Moving onto haircare and the first is a little unusual but it's the Loreal Magic Retouch which is a coloured spray that camouflages greys. I need it for the grey coverage (I'm practically an old lady at the age of 27) but also for the areas around my hairline that are thinner and more sparse - it's a fantastic product but a little messy.

A less embarrassing haircare favourite is the Soak and Float Shampoo Bar from Lush which has to be their nicest smelling shampoo bar! I have been using it along with the cork holder for past couple of months and I've been loving using it and thankfully I have a couple of other bars to try from Lush now thanks to lovely Christmas presents. My final haircare favourite for the winter months is my *GHD Platinum+ Styler which I use almost every time I style my hair as it creates the perfect waves and curls!

Moving onto skincare and fragrance favourites, the first is the *Gaia Moisturiser which I included within one of my previous christmas gift guides. It's a lovely natural moisturiser that is ideal for my skin during the colder months. I've also been loving the *Paulas Choice Electrolyte Infused Moisturiser that I was kindly sent by LookFantastic and the *First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Cream, from the LookFantastic Discovery Kit (the Clinique one seems to still be available). To end my raving about LookFantastic, I've been using the products from the *Pai Skincare x LookFantastic box too and now I want to try even more from the brand.

I have two fragrance favourites, one of which is the *Celeste Soleil Perfume that I was kindly sent back in September and haven't stopped using since - I cannot recommend all three fragrances enough! The second fragrance favourite was a christmas present and it is Pansy from Lush which smells like the Olive branch shower gel so I adore it.
Accessories, Camera, Tattoos + Miscellaneous
This last category is a little mixed but I'll start with one of the most expensive favourites and it's my new camera. I've wanted a new camera for most of the year, although I do still love my Canon 750D, I wanted an upgrade. I finally decided on the Sony A7iii after watching and reading a tonne of reviews from professional and full time photographers and I'm so glad I did. I still have a long way to go before I'm fully used to the camera and gimbal (that's one of my 2020 goals) but I'm glad I made the investment.

Another, slightly expensive favourite, are my tattoos! I added four more to my collection in 2019, two by Zu at Flesh Tattoo and two by Rachel Hauer, who works at East River Tattoo in New York - she came over for a guest spot at a private studio in Manchester and she was incredibly sweet and lovely. If she comes back to Manchester then I will definitely be getting tattooed by her again!

October 2019 featured a couple of blogging firsts including reviewing a hotel in Glasgow which was not only amazing because I could treat one of my friends to a free hotel stay but also because I was able to visit quite a few sites in Scotland that I haven't been to before such as Glasgow, Stirling Castle, Trossachs National park and more. I cannot recommend the Hallmark Hotel in Glasgow enough, check out my review for more information.

A few blogger mail favourites from the past few months of 2019 were my new sunglasses from Messy Weekend, Daisy London x Estee Lalonde necklaces, Top Furniture oak table and all of the fantastic limited edition boxes I've been lucky enough to receive from LookFantastic and Latest In Beauty.

Have you tried any of the products I've mentioned? What were your beauty and lifestyle favourite from the past couple of months?

*Gifted

August Beauty + Travel Favourites

Monday, September 01, 2014
Well if I thought last month was filled with favourites, this month has to be the largest number of beauty favourites ever! For two weeks out of the month of august I was on an amazing Royal Caribbean cruise around the Mediterranean (lucky me) so most of these product are not just august favourites but holiday/vacation/travel favourites.

Makeup: The first makeup favourite is a foundation by Benefit, it is their Hello Flawless foundation in 'believe in me ivory'. I loved the foundation while on holiday for two weeks in august, it was perfect paired with the amazing Essence All About Matt Fixing Powder which I sadly used up completely on holiday. Another Essence base product I loved for the past couple of months is the Essence Stay All Day Concealer which is just fantastic and all Essence products are really inexpensive! My next makeup item is a very long term favourite, the NYX Blush in 'taupe', it is fantastic for contouring especially if you have pale skin as I do. I have a contouring post coming soon. The last makeup bits are lip products both of which are stains (my favourite kind of lip product). Firstly, the Topshop Gloss Ink in 'sugar rush', it is a gorgeous bright pink glossy stain that does last well; secondly the Loreal...splash stain...things! I have the shade 'lolita' which is a perfect neutral shade - at the time these were released they had a lot of negative reviews but I don't know why, I love this lip stain!

Skincare + Haircare: The product I am going to talk about next is a mix between skincare and makeup, it is the Decleor DD Cream which is an SPF and tinted moisturiser combined in my opinion. It was in a previous favourites post. My favourite moisturiser for the past couple of months has been the Nivea Sensitive Day Cream, I took it on holiday and it was just perfect. I am currently using the night cream and it is equally great although the packaging breaks very easily! The last couple of skincare products are from Guinot, you may have seen them already in my travel beauty posts (here) and (here). They are cute mini SPF products, the lip balm was a life saver on holiday! Onto the only hair care favourite for August, the Moroccan Oil Anti-Frizz Spray which does exactly what it says on the bottle, it really helps to reduce frizz - I have been using it every single time I wash my hair this month.

Tools + Accessories: A few makeup brush favourites, the first is the powder brush I have been using everyday this month - it is from the Ecotools travel brush set that I purchased from Feelunique back in January. Ecotools brushes are amazing in my opinion and inexpensive. Next up some trusty brushes from Real Techniques, they are all from the core collection - the bristles are super soft, smooth and blend products quickly and easily. My last favourite for august is my Sewlomax Grey Lipstick Pouch which is personalised - it says Heather on the back! I love the Sewlomax makeup bags, I used this one on holiday as my mini-mergency bag.

There are all of my favourites for the month of august, I am missing a few products such as the Ted Baker Mia Perfume and the L'Occitane Almond Hand Cream but I thought the post was very long already!

Have you tried any of these products, if you have what did you think of them? What were your stand out products throughout august?

July + August Beauty Favourites

Monday, September 05, 2016
www.ofbeautyandnothingness.co.uk

I am slacking so much with monthly favourites posts, oops! This months post is a combination of my July and August beauty favourites, so basically my summer favourites ft. skincare, perfume, makeup and the best dry shampoo ever!

Skincare, Haircare & Perfume
My skin is dry and sensitive so I'm quite selective about the products I use but one brand that I have been loving is Supermood which is a brand based in Finland. The Supermood Beauty Sleep Serum doesn't irritate my skin even when I'm having an eczema flareup, it leaves my skin so smooth and soft and I've nearly finished the bottle - I can't recommend it enough.

Lush is one of my favourite stores and one product that I have loved for years is the Honey I Washed The Kids Soap; it is basically the best smelling soap ever made and I cannot get enough. I wish this soap fragrance was made into a perfume as I would buy it instantly. The soap doesn't leave my skin dry and it doesn't irritate the eczema I have on my hands.

August was my birthday month and one of my best friends bought me the Lush The President's Hat fragrance which has been on my wish list for at least a year and I LOVE it. It is so musky, deep and autumnal, the packaging is stunning and as I have the mini 10ml pipette size, it's perfect for traveling. I took this fragrance with me to London and the Harry Potter tour and it was a perfect size.

Lastly, the best dry shampoo ever! The Moroccan Oil Dark Dry Shampoo which unlike other dry shampoos, leaves my hair looking at lot less greasy and soft; for me and my dry hair, it is the perfect shampoo so I will be buying a new bottle when this one is empty even though it is a little pricey.

Makeup
For my makeup favourites I have a few products that are new and others that I've been loving for years. Let's start with my long term favourites including the best mattifying powder, the Bourjois Healthy Balance Powder in 52 vanille. August at times has been SO hot *when we were in London it was 32 degrees celsius* so mattifying powders were essential and this was a makeup saver!

Another long lasting and long term favourite is the Stila Waterproof Liquid Liner. I wore this on the day of travelling down to London and this eyeliner survived an eight hour coach journey, greasy/sweaty skin and 32 degrees celsius. I applied the liner at about 6am and I took it off at about 11PM and it was pretty much exactly the same as when I first applied it *very impressive*.

I feel like August was the month of amazingly long lasting products, the Eylure Brow Pomade is a massive favourite; when you get used to it, it's incredibly quick and easy to apply. It looks natural but it gives such definition and volume to my brows, the shade is a perfect warm brown and it lasts ALL day. It takes me a while to remove this brow pomade as well as the next product.

The last super long lasting product in my favourites is the NYX Lingerie Liquid Lipstick in 08 Bedtime Flirt and I wore it when we went to the Harry Potter tour; it survived eating Mcdonalds, drinking, hot weather and a 7 hour coach journey back to rainy manchester - again I was super impressed, now I need more shades ASAP!

Tom Ford makeup is pretty much the most beautifully packaged makeup ever and I wish I could own more but I only have one mascara (which probably needs throwing away) which I won - it's the Extreme Mascara. It gives instant deep black lashes with dentition and volume, I love it but it's so expensive.

The final makeup item for my July and August favourites is the Etude House Precious Mineral BB Cream in Light Beige; I don't tend to like BB creams as they are usually nothing more than tinted moisturiser but asian BB creams are more like light/medium coverage foundations = at least thats the coverage I get from this. The shade is very pale so it suits my ghostly skin perfectly, it doesn't highlight dryness (unless it's really bad!) and it lasts all day.

Have you tried any of these products? What products have you been loving this summer?

December + January Beauty Favourites 2017

December + January Beauty Favourites 2017
I didn't post my December beauty favourites as I posted my 2016 beauty favourites instead but I still wanted to mention some of the products that I've been loving over the past two months so I've combined my December and January favourites. Today's post features two amazing foundations for dry skin, natural skincare that would be wonderful for anyone with sensitive or eczema prone skin, a long lasting lip liner and a few miscellaneous items.

Skincare
Winter is an awful time for my skin as it's dry and sensitive most of the time but so far this winter my skin has been incredibly dry with frequent eczema flareups *yay...*. Anyone who reads my blog will know by now that Antipodes is my all time favourite skincare brand so it's not surprising to see one of their vegan products in my favourites post. I have been using the *Antipodes Divine Oil for the past couple of weeks and I love it as part of my evening skincare routine. I haven't been using it in the mornings as it's too rich but I have been using the *Supermood Egoboost Serum which absorbs so quickly but it adds a boost of moisture to my skin as part of my morning skincare routine.

Now onto a skincare tool that I love! I won the Foreo Luna Go for Oily Skin back in November (maybe?) last year via the HQHair Twitter giveaway and I've only just started using it...I have the original Clarisonic Mia but I wanted to give this one a go and I might like it more than my Clarisonic *shock*. I don't see how it's designed just for oily skin but I've been loving it with my dry and sensitive skin as it helps to cleanse my skin so well leaving it squeaky clean and smooth but it doesn't irritate my skin. It looks a little dubious, especially as it vibrates like the Clarisonic and Magnitone cleansing tools...and it's a little harder to hold as it's tiny but I couldn't recommend it enough if you're a skincare nerd as I am!

The cleanser that I've been using with the Foreo Luna Go is the Bioderma Atoderm PP Ultra-Rich Foaming Gel which I think is suitable for the face and body. It's a very basic, gentle cleanser that lathers slightly with the Foreo Luna Go - they work so well together.
December + January Beauty Favourites 2017
Bodycare & Toothpaste...
My hands also suffer so much during the winter months therefore hand cream is an essential. I have one in my bag, one next to my bed, one in the car and one on my desk which might be overkill...The *Tisserand Lavender & White Mint is my favourite of the three that I have tried, mainly because I adore lavender! It's everything I want in a hand cream as it doesn't irritate the eczema on my hands and it's very moisturising but it doesn't leave a residue.

Another product that smells floral and heavenly as well as being vegan is the *Amphora Aromatics Ylang Ylang, Argan & Rosemary Shower Gel. It smells very unique so I don't know if it will be for everyone although I love how different it is as well as being very musky and earthy. Even though it contains lots of fantastic natural ingredients, it lathers well and it doesn't contain parabens, artificial fragrances or colours.

This next item is a little unusual but I cannot recommend it enough and I'm seeing some results so I wanted to mention it. If you have been following my blog around christmas time then you may have seen my post featuring Sensodyne; I started using the new *Sensodyne True White Toothpaste back then but now I've used it for about a month, I'm seeing results. It's a really gentle toothpaste with a subtle minty flavour. it has been helping with my sensitivity and it has had a noticeable effect in terms of whiteness so if that's what you're looking for then check this toothpaste out!
December + January Beauty Favourites 2017
Makeup
There have been two foundations that I've been going between over the past couple of months, one is a high street offering and the other is a little pricier. The cheaper option is the Yves Rocher Comfort Cream Foundation which is great for my pale, dry and sensitive winter skin. The yellow undertones help to reduce my redness, it doesn't really emphasis dryness and it doesn't irritate my skin. Also the coverage is medium which is almost just enough to cover my redness, pores and dark circles.

The second foundation is the Lancome Cushion Foundation that is even better for dry skin types as it doesn't emphasise dryness at all, it gives a gorgeous glow and it is lightweight, comfortable and perfect for cold winter days. I don't use the sponge it comes with, I just use my foundation brush and sadly I think I'm running out of it so if you have any cushion foundation recommendations then send them my way!

My last makeup favourite is the *Laura Geller Pout Perfection Lip Pencil in Claret which is a lovely rosy red shade that I've been using almost overtime I have worn makeup. The pencil is creamy, it feels comfortable to wear and it lasts really well even through eating.

October Beauty Favourites

Tuesday, November 04, 2014
Another beauty favourites post that contains so many products! I have been lucky enough to try and find some amazing products during October! Todays post is a mixture of makeup, skincare, haircare and perfume favourites!

Makeup: My first makeup favourite is the amazing, massive Makeup Revolution Awesome Eyeshadow Palette that I have been using for pretty much all of my halloween looks this year. Staying with the palette theme, I have also been loving the *Clinique 'On Safari' Quad for everyday autumn looks, you can read my full review of it, here. My last eyeshadow favourite is the *Clarins Matte Ombre Shadow in 'nude beige' which I have been using as an eyeshadow base as it neutralises redness on the lids and provides a fantastic base for eyeshadows, full review, here.

Now onto my mascara favourite, the *Too Faced Mini Better Than Sex Mascara which I have been using for my halloween and everyday looks as it is such a buildable mascara - one coat is natural and pretty but numerous coats makes the lashes look bold and voluminous. Next up, my two face product favourites - the foundation I have been using constantly for the past three weeks is the Max Factor Luminizer Foundation which I have been recommending to anyone and everyone! It is amazing for light/medium coverage that doesn't highlight dryness and it makes the skin look so luminous and radiant. The second face product favourite is the *Smashbox Fusion Soft Lights in 'Baked Stardust' which is a bronzer, blush and highlight combo that looks so beautiful on the skin, full post here

We are nearly at the end of my makeup favourites! The last two products are lip faves, including the gorgeous Rimmel Provocalips Lip Colour in 'Make Your Move' which I cannot rave about enough - it is pigmented, so long wearing yet it is comfortable and smoothing! Last up is the Soap and Glory Sexy Mother Pucker Lip Lacquer in 'Charm Offensive' which is part of the christmas range and it is a fantastic long wearing glossy lip lacquer that is also really pigmented and easy to wear!

Skincare: My main skincare favourite products for october are facial oils! I don't understand why I didn't try them before, they have changed my skin so much! I have being loving the *Rodial Stemcell Super Food Oil for most of the month, it is non greasy, smoothing and very hydrating! A cheaper alternative is the *Bodhi and Birch Desert Rose Oil which is also fantastic! My last skincare favourite is a lip balm. I am a lip balm addict, I have tried so many - I have approximately 27 in my collection currently...The *Rodial Stemcell Glambalm is more like a lip treatment it is so hydrating and nourishing.

Haircare + Perfume: My haircare favourite has been a favourite product for the past couple of months, it is the Label M Protein Spray which I first heard about from Talk Becky Talk and it is a fantastic nourishing hair treatment spray that I use at any time of the day or night. My final october beauty favourite is the new *Yves Rocher Quelques Notes d'Amour fragrance which is a heavenly floral but musky perfume that is perfect for the autumn/winter months.

There are my beauty favourite for October! I will also be posting my October non-beauty favourites soon too which I haven't done before!

September Beauty Favourites

Monday, September 29, 2014
In contrast to last months favourites (here) I don't have that many this time, although I can already tell that my October favourites is going to be a very long post as I have discovered so many amazing products over the past week! My September beauty favourites is a good mixture of fragrance, haircare, makeup and body products.

Makeup + Tools: My first beauty favourite for September is a cream highlighter by Kryolan for Glossybox that I received as part of my August Glossbox (I think) and it is so gorgeous, it makes the skin look so glowing and fresh without looking like a glittery mess! Next up are a couple of old favourites, the Ectools mini brushes from the 'fresh and flawless' set that I bought last January from the sales. Ecotools make fantastic brushes, I have been using them for years! My last makeup favourite is the Burt's Bees Lip Shimmer in the shade 'rhubarb' which is a gorgeous berry shade, perfect for this time of the year. It is also fairly matte which I love, it doesn't have any sheen really but it is still moisturising and smoothing - genius! I have a full post on Burt's Bees lip products, here.

Haircare: I have two hair product favourites this month, they are the Bumble and Bumble Surf shampoo and conditioner, I was sent these to review and I have genuinely fallen in love with them. Not only is the packaging great but the products work so well. They don't weigh  my hair down but they are still nourishing and effective! I would purchase both in the future.

Bodycare: One body care favourite is The Body Shop brazil nut body butter which I have been using on and off for a few months. I have been using it after my holiday in August to help with sunburn or now in the autumn for dryness, it is my favourite body butter from The Body Shop! When I don't use it I can definitely see and feel a difference in my skin.

Fragrance: Onto my fragrance favourite which is the amazingly gorgeous Burberry Body EDP which I received for my 21st birthday last year and I have been trying to use it sparingly as I don't want it to run out. It is a warm, sexy fragrance that is perfect for this time of the year! I can't stop using it!

I forgot to photograph two of my favourites - the Johnson's Baby Oil which I have been using for shaving and since using it my skin has been super smooth and I haven't had any cuts from my razors! My last September beauty favourite is the Boots Mango and Orange Blossom Hand Wash which smells divine, it doesn't irritate the eczema on my hand (99% of the time), it doesn't dry out my skin and one pump dispenses the perfect amount of product!

There are my beauty favourite for September! What products have you been loving this month?

May Beauty Favourites

Saturday, June 07, 2014
I haven't created beauty favourites post in a while, If i don't have a favourites post then I show my favourites on Twitter (ofbeautyand). My favourites for May include a mixture of fragrance, nail polish remover, makeup - including three lip products and two bronzers!
Makeup: April and May have been busy makeup months, I have received some new products to try and also I have bought quite a lot...oops! Firstly, lips, I have been loving the Revlon Lip Butter in 'Pink Truffle' through out April and May, as well as the Loreal Glamshine stain thing in 'Lolita' and the MAC Lipstick in 'Hug Me' which I won in Kirsty's blog giveaway.  Only one eyeshadow favourite which is the Nars Belissimma duo and I recently bought the Nars Radiance Creamy Concealer in 'Vanilla' which is fantastic!

Now, the past couple of month beauty-wise has all been about bronzers, I splurged and bought the new Chanel Healthy Glow Multi-Colour in '01 Light Harmony' which is a highlighter, bronzer and blush in one compact, click here to see my initial impressions post on this product. I have also been loving a much cheaper bronzer, the Bourjois Chocolate Bronzer - such an amazing bargain! I have been entering the Benefit #howdoyouhoola competition on Instagram and it has made me dig out my Hoola bronzer, I think I love it even more now than when I bought it.

Nails & Tools: The first makeup tool I have been loving this month is the nanshy Flat Top Foundation Brush which I won in one of their Twitter giveaways - it is amazing at applying and blending liquid foundation. Also this month I have changed from my usual Pretty Quik Nail Polish Remover Pot to the H&M version (£2.99) and it is so much better which is impressive as it is acetone free.

Extras: The last few products are little extras that don't really have a category. The first product is the famous Nuxe Reve De Miel Lip Balm Pot which I have been using for month and months, it is like a mask for the lips. The Elemis Quiet Time Pulse Point Gel has been a lifesaver the past month, I was kindly sent it by Elemis and it has been part of my nightly routine ever since. The last May favourites product is a fragrance, it is the Yves Rocher L'eau Moment de Bonheur EDT which is so refreshing, light and summer!

There are my May beauty favourites! What were your favourite products for the month of May?

January Beauty Favourites

Friday, January 30, 2015
I can't believe we are already one month into 2015! Now it is time for my January beauty favourites! I haven't published a beauty favourites post for a while however you can check out my November/December favourites on Laura's blog which you can check out, here. I have a lot of favourites this month, from nail polish, brow serum and brushes to shampoo, foundation and cologne.

Firstly, the makeup! I made a small order on Wilkinsons in December and three of the products I picked up are in my January favourites: the Maybelline Color Drama (Nude Perfection), Maybelline Color Tattoo (Creamy Beige) and the Essence Fixing Powder, the latter has been a favourite for months!

Another makeup favourite is a re-discovery from 2011/2012, the Tweezerman Brow Mousse which I received in a kit as I am a Tweezerman ambassador; I am so glad I have it in my makeup collection again as it is the best brow gel out there! My final makeup favourite is a new purchase, the Burberry Fresh Glow Foundation (No.11 Porcelain) which has become one of my favourite foundations of all time; it is fantastic for normal/dry skin and leaves my skin looking plumped, radiant and glowing but not greasy.

My favourite makeup brushes this month have been the Crown Brushes SS019 which is an amazing powder brush and the second is the Crown Brushes SS021. Both of which are inexpensive and high quality as well as being cruelty free which is always a plus in my opinion.

I have only been using one nail polish all month and it has been the gorgeous RMK polish in the shade EX20 which is a beige grey shade and I LOVE it. It is very similar to Porchester Square from Nails Inc but it is matte. The longevity isn't great (I need to find a good matte top coat) but it's a lovely polish, not just because of the shade but the brush and the formula of the polish to apply as well.

Now onto a kind of skincare favourite, the Librow eyebrow enhancing serum, yes, it does sound odd but I've been using it for a couple of months now and I am noticing a massive difference in terms of new hairs growing, sparse patches are being filled in and I don't need to use nearly as much brow powder - the full review will be live at the end of February.

My penultimate favourite is a shampoo I won last year, the Kerastase Bain Satin 1 Shampoo - it's one of the best shampoos I have ever used. It makes so hair incredibly smooth, soft and manageable as well as less frizzy and so nourished. I cannot say enough good things about this shampoo; I will be buying a bottle when this one runs out. A similar shampoo is the Loreal Everriche and as Kerastate is owned by Loreal, we can assume that the products are going to be similar.

Lastly, a fragrance favourite, this month it has to be the amazing The Library Of Fragrance Lavender Cologne which I was kindly sent a couple of months ago and I've been using it non-stop. I adore the scent of lavender so this fragrance was always going to be perfect for me! I've even been spraying it near my pillow at night to help me sleep as I find the scent of lavender to be so relaxing! I only have about 30% left, I will definitely be picking up another bottle or if you have any lavender fragrance recommendations please leave them in the comments below.

April + May Favourites 2020

Wednesday, May 27, 2020
During the lockdown period I've discovered so many new favourite products so I wanted to share them with you today. From one lifestyle favourite to skincare, body care and a fragrance favourite. I do have so many more favourites than what I'll be reviewing in today's post but they will be reviewed in my very belated winter favourites post which will showcase all of the genuinely fantastic products I used and loved throughout the months of December, January and February.

*Barley Cup Cereal Drink
I'll begin with the one lifestyle favourite I have for the past two months and it's a new drink! I was sent a couple of samples of barley drink which is a vegan friendly cereal drink that is made of barley, rye and chicory. It is naturally caffeine free and low calorie which is something I've been looking for recently as I have wanted to reduce my caffeine intake. I used to love Horlicks drinks growing up and it is very nostalgic to me so I hoped these would be a little similar and they are to an extent. The flavour is very nutty, roasted and earthy which I love but it's much stronger than I thought; however I do love it and I will be looking out for it in the future (when the world is a little less chaotic).
*Bubble T Soapscription
I've already reviewed this shower gel subscription service a few times on my blog so I will keep this section short and sweet. I've been lucky enough to receive a few of the soapscription boxes over the past few months and I loved each one. I think it's such a great idea, especially as we are currently in lockdown until mid-June. I've liked every scent I've tried from them, particularly as they all tend to be quite unique. Click on the link above for more subscription box recommendations to help you get through lockdown!

*Daisy by Marc Jacobs via Perfume Direct
Another favourite is one I've also reviewed on my blog previously but I wanted to include it in todays post as it is the fragrance I've been wearing non-stop since I received it back in April. The 'daisy' range from Marc Jacobs is very nostalgic to me as it is a fragrance I grew up wearing so I was very happy to receive a bottle to review from the lovely people at Perfume Direct. If you're looking for the perfect spring fragrance that will last all day, look no further.

*Pixi Glow Tonic
One of my winter favourites has to be the First Aid Beauty radiance pads but I used up them up and since then I've been loving the Pixi glow tonic. I find the First Aid Beauty pads to be instantly smoothing, softening and exfoliating but the glow tonic is just as effective. I have found the tonic to be gentle, effective and it has been helping massively with the breakouts I've been having. I cannot recommend it enough as it's helping my skin to stay smooth and clear during all of the stress of lockdown.
*Bomb Cosmetics Build Your Own Soap (£7.99)
Last but not least for today's post is one of my more recent favourites and it's the soap I designed via Bomb Cosmetics. I'm lucky enough to be a Bomb Cosmetics ambassador so I receive their products to review but I have been using their products since before I started my blog! One of their newer products is a 'build your own soap' feature which I think is a fantastic idea and it would make a very cute and practical personalised gift. Check out the link above for more information on the soap and don't forget to use the code: STAYSAFE10 to get 10% off your order as well as a free slice of soap!

Stay tuned for my upcoming lockdown empties and winer favourites posts for more product reviews and recommendations!

March Beauty Favourites

Monday, March 30, 2020
March has been a bit of a strange month to say the least, especially as towards the end of March the UK went into lockdown which has been such a bizarre and surreal experience. I was unsure what to do when it comes to blogging as most of my freelance work and blog related emails have decreased dramatically but my blog has always been an escape for me (my blog's 8th birthday is coming up in May - be prepared for a birthday giveaway) and I hope it can be for those who read my blog as well.

Today's post is my short favourites post featuring the main skincare and haircare favourites I've loved over the month of March. I have an upcoming post including a plethora of items that I have loved using throughout the winter months including so many makeup favourites so say tuned for that post which should hopefully be live on my blog at the end of the week or early next week. You can always follow me on instagram (@ofbeautyand) to see sneak peeks of my upcoming posts and my blogger mail.
*SKN-RG Diamond Blue Cleanser (£29, 60ml)
Let's start with the cleanser that I've been using and loving for the past couple of weeks. SKN-RG is a  brand I have tried previously as I reviewed their fantastic Evolution Serum (£65) back in 2019 which I highly recommend so I was excited to try another product from the brand especially as I love their ethos and focus on cruelty free products and sustainability.

The Diamond Blue cleanser hasn't launched yet but here's a little information about the product and its ingredient list. It contains diamond blue plankton, botanical enzymes, soapberry and hyaluronic acid which combine to trap pollutants without stripping the skin, gently cleanse, resurface the skin and provide hydration.

The product itself is blue in colour and it has a gel-like texture which feels very refreshing and smoothing on the skin. It is a lovely cleanser to use, especially for the spring and summer month as it leaves my skin feeling throughly cleansed and smoother without it feeling dry or stripped. If you are looking for a luxe and effective cleanser, check out the SKN-RG Diamond Blue Cleanser when it is launched. I'm sure you'll be seeing this product on my blog again in the upcoming months. Don't forget to use the code: SKN15 to get 15% off at the checkout!
*Botanicals Nourish Moisturiser (£24.50)
My second March skincare favourite is a lovely natural facial moisturiser from Botanicals which is another brand I've been lucky enough to try on my blog a couple of times before. The moisturiser contains lots of organic ingredients including shea butter, green tea, rose geranium, rosehip and palmarosa oil. The ingredients are all cruelty free and sustainable as well as being suitable for vegans; for more information about the brand itself and the ingredients used, check out their website.

The moisturiser is minimally but beautifully packaged and designed; I love the pump dispenser as it makes it more convenient to use. It has a gorgeous spring-like floral scent that I adore and it makes me want to use the product constantly! The moisturiser itself has a silky texture and it feels very nourishing on the skin without making it feel very greasy or heavy. My skin has been loving this gentle, hydrating and fast absorbing moisturiser so much and I would highly recommend it.
*Joico Weekend Hair Dry Shampoo (£16, 255ml)
Last but not least is a dry shampoo that I've gone through a couple of bottles of over the past few months and it's one of my favourites for March as I've been trying to wash my hair a little less (to slow down colour fade) and this dry shampoo has been a staple recently. I have a few dry shampoo recommendations but I think this one is fantastic for all hair colours and types. I never used to like dry shampoo as it either left a white tone to my hair or it wasn't very effective but thankfully this one ticks all of the boxes for a great dry shampoo for second, third and sometimes even fourth day hair.

Those are a few of the products I've been loving recently but stay tuned for my rather massive winter beauty favourites post which will be live soon!

Have you tried any of these products? Which beauty products have you been loving in March?

September & October Favorites!

Monday, October 29, 2012
Today is a bit of an unusual post as it is a september and october favourites post - and a cheeky August favourites at the end too as firstly, I have been busy and a bit lazy because of university and secondly, I have been using a lot of the same products for the past three months! For example, I have been using the same foundation (almost constantly) for the past three months and the same mascara, foundation brush, moisturiser and eyeshadow quad!
Firstly, base products; I have been loving the Real Techniques Expert Face Brush (£9.99) for the past three or so months - I took this brush on holiday with me in August too. I love the brush because it is incredibly smooth and soft on the skin and it applies/blends the majority of my foundations like a dream! The foundation that I have been using the most over the past three months has been my Illamasqua Light Liquid Foundation; I bought this foundation in the Illamasqua sale back in July for only £10. I wear the shade LF120 which is a fantastic match for my skin as I am really quite pale at the moment. I took this foundation with me on holiday too back in August and it worked well, although I had to set it with a fair amount of powder to stop it from running off my face! The foundation has light coverage, it makes my skin tone more even and it has a gorgeous finish - it makes my skin look luminous and 'lit from within' but it doesn't make my skin look dewy or greasy!
Now onto some skincare (and haircare) favourites of mine for the past three months. Firstly, Nuxe Reve De Miel Stick Lip balm (£5.50). During the month of August I was using my Caudalie lip balm then in September I ran out of the Caudalie balm and I started using my Nuxe lip balm - and I have to say it is not as good as the Caudalie version. I like the Nuxe lip balm, it is one of my favourites, but the caudalie balm is richer and more hydrating. A new favourite product which I received at the beginning of October is a lip balm from Rodial - Rodial Glam Balm Lip which is a sample size that I received as part of a kit. This lip balm is just gorgeous and so intensive; I only use it at night because it is a small sample and I don't want to got through it so quickly as the full size is priced at £19! The lip balm is great as a kind of night treatment for my lips and in the morning my lips will be incredibly smooth and soft - ready for lipstick and liner!

The second favourite skincare product is the Mama Mio Mighty Moisture Moisturiser which is a 15ml sample I received (using a code during August) with a feelunique order. I took this on holiday with me in August and I have been using it on and off ever since! This moisturiser is smooth, rich and it leaves my skin feeling very smooth, soft and hydrated - it doesn't irritate my skin either, even though it does smell of lavender. I have nearly finished this moisturiser and I am considering buying the full size although it is very expensive, I will have to seen if it is on offer anywhere.

Two of the final favourites are from the month of October and include my Lancome Cleansing fluid (£34, 400ml) which is just incredible! The cleansing fluid smells heavily of mens aftershave/cologne but it doesn't irritate my skin at all! In fact when I have a tiny outbreak of eczema I use this and the next day the eczema is so much better (although this works only with my very minor eczema breakouts). So I am very surprised with the results from the Lancome cleansing milk and when this bottle is finished I WILL have to buy another!

My last favourite product is from my September Jolie Box and it is...Twistbands! Twistbands are hair bands/hair ties/bobbles and they are supposed to be gentle on the hair and not create a kink in the hair. I have been using mine only while in the house as I wouldn't wear those colours outside! With my hair the twistbands actually stay in really well (in a pony or a bun) and they do feel really gentle on my hair - but they don't stay in all day and they can create a kink/line in my hair.

....and a very late August favourites which may be useful to those of you lucky enough to be somewhere warm now - unlike England where it is freezing and raining with the possibility of snow!
The products that I was using on holiday and through out the month of august have been almost the same as the products that I have been using for the months of September and October - expect the Caudalie body lotion (empty), the Kiko highlighter (£5.20, sale) and the Tweezerman brow mousse (empty). Although the majority of the products have been the same for the past three months but while on holiday I did have to set my Illamasqua Light Liquid foundation with a good amount of powder otherwise it would look really shiny. The Soap and Glory quad in the shade 'Whats nude' has been a favourite product of mine since I bought it early last year!

What are your favourite products for October/Autumn?
