Autumnal OOTD

Autumnal OOTD
Today is so cold and it was snowing this weekend so I wouldn't wear this outfit now but a couple of weeks ago I was wearing this jacket non-stop! I am loving all of the gorgeous items I've had from Zaful recently and I'm grateful to receive these items as my wardrobe is in dire need of an update for the autumn and winter months!

*Zaful Zipper Suede Jacket ($35.99)
You'll have to excuse my weird/annoyed expression, I was FREEZING! I am a bit of a sucker for pretty jackets, I'm always buying jackets to go with various outfits - I never seem to have enough! The jacket design is gorgeous, I love the tan brown suede and the zipper detailing. I have a size M and I'm a UK size 10 and it fits really well although as I'm tiny, it is a little long on the arms; although the length of the jacket is quite short and I wish it was longer as that's the only negative I have about this jacket. I think it would be perfect for autumn and also spring, it definitely wouldn't be warm or thick enough for the winter months in England.

*Zaful 'Rock 'n' Roller' Tee ($9.29, clearance)
I also chose this tee in a size M and it has the same problem as the jacket in that it is a little short which I wasn't expecting for either item. However, I do love the quality as it's soft and really well made. I adore the slogan and design as well as the cuffed sleeves - I have been getting so much use out of this tee around the house and as a pyjama top as it's so comfy.

Overall, I cannot recommend Zaful enough, I have quite a few lovely items from them now and I love the design and quality of all of them! I've been wearing both of these items a lot, particularly the tee; however they are both a little on the short side even on me and I'm tiny but I will still continue to get a lot of wear out of them. Overall rating: ★★★★☆, 4/5.

What do you think of these items? Have you bought anything from Zaful?

Cozy Autumn OOTD + Totoro

Cozy Autumn OOTD + Totoro
Well, let's get the idiotic, horrific, orange elephant in the room out of the way to start with - how the hell has Trump managed to win the US election *builds rocket to another planet, who's in?*. Let's have a little break from TV news channels with a cozy OOTD post and adorable Totoro!

It's been so chilly recently, it's even snowing in some areas of the UK today so cozy jumpers, knitwear, blankets and a cuddly Totoro, obviously. I've been constantly wearing the *Dresslily Jacquard Knit Sweater ($23.74) as it's so cozy, soft and it's been keeping me warm, mostly, throughout the past few freezing cold days. I love the sweater, it's so cute and quite festive but it does make me look a little yeti-ish...but it's perfect for a cozy lounge wear outfit with leggings.

Another staple for this time of the year a cute tote bag because this is the season for...shopping. The *Dresslily Striped Canvas Bag ($6.52, Blue is perfect for shopping or a an alternative to a gift bag! I love the stripes, it's spacious and unlike most tote bags, it has a zip closure.
Cozy Autumn OOTD + Totoro
Now for the best part of this post and hopefully as this day is pretty damn awful...Totoro's adorable face will cheer everyone up! The *Totoro Cushion ($19.15) is so cute, super soft and come on, look at that face - it will make anyone feel better! It would be a perfect and freakin' adorable christmas gift too.

Overall, I love the cozy jumper, I've been wearing it constantly and the tote bag which is perfect for the upcoming shopping and christmas season. Lastly, everyone look at Totoro's cute face and take a deep relaxing breath!

What do you think of my OOTD? Do you like Totoro? What are your autumn essentials?

Autumn Essentials
Autumn is my favourite season, not just because I can stop trying to lose weight as under my coat and jumpers it doesn't matter anyway and I adore autumnal days as they're chilly and cozy! I love coming in from the cold, putting on my comfiest clothes, cozy socks and reading a good book. Here are some of my autumn essentials:

*Heat Holders Snuggle Ups Luxury Fleece Blanket (£23.99, Hot Chocolate)
Blankets are an essential on our house, everyone has one, it's like being in a nursing home! I have a couple that my auntie has made for me which I love but massive and super cozy blankets are essentials for this time of the year. The Heat Holders blanket is 180cm by 200cm, it has a 1.4 tog rating and it's the softest blanket ever!

*Heat Holders Ladies Socks (£7.99, Dark Lavender)
Since I was a child I've always been told that these cozy socks were called bed socks...The socks are so cozy and soft; they are perfect for around the house or with high boots. They have grippy pads on the soles so there's no chance of embarrassing slips (they remind me of the socks I had as a child but they had Eeyore on them).

*Flame Homeware 'Fireside Snooze' Candle (£6.99)
Candles are such an important home decor and home fragrance essential for me as they not only make any room look cozy but they also release gorgeous autumnal and wintery scents. I burn candles all year but the majority during the colder months. I love this scent from Gift Company which is musky, rich and perfect for autumn.
Autumn Essentials
*Molton Brown Ylang Ylang Hand Cream
The Molton Brown Ylang Ylang range is one of my favourites as it's such a gorgeous, musky and floral scent that I cannot get enough of. I have eczema on my hands so they are perpetually dry but especially at this time of the year. The cream keeps my hands smooth and comfortable for most of the day and it smells incredible.

*NutriBalm Balm in Relax Me & Energise Me
Lip balms and cuticle balms are also essentials for me! These little balms are handmade in Yorkshire, suitable for vegans and vegetarians and they contain 100% pure natural active ingredients such as cocoa butter, sunflower oil, argan oil, rosehip seed oil and more. The 'relax me' balm is my favourite of the two mainly as it smells like lavender and that's one of my favourite scents ever! The 'energise me' balm works just as well and has a musky, almost spicy scent.

*English Fairytales (Pan Macmillan), The Canterville Ghost (Alma Books) &  Crane Pond (Europa Editions)
Last year I could count the number of books I read on one hand but now I'm onto my 64th book of 2016 which I'm SO happy about. Reading has very quickly become an entertaining, relaxing and anxiety relieving hobby and it's even more relaxing under a cozy blanket with candles burning. One of my favourite books of 2016 is Crane Pond by Richard Francis as well as the gorgeous Pan Macmillan English Fairytales edition. Alma Books also have some beautiful and affordable editions too.

What are your autumn essentials? What have you been reading recently?

Autumn Winter Wish List

Autumn Winter Wish List
The days are getting quite chilly now, especially last night when it was really foggy too so I want to update my wardrobe with some autumn/winter essentials. There are five/six main essentials that I always buy every autumn/winter including: jumpers, jackets/coats, tartan, hats and a new bag - also leggings, they are a staple for me!

Suede Jacket  -  Knit Beanie  -  Tartan Dress  -  Cozy Cardigan  -  Satchel Bag
I live in Manchester where we rarely see the sun so as soon as autumn arrives, the days get chilly so cozy knitwear is an essential; I have SO many jumpers, cardigans and jackets but I always need more, particularly when they are as cozy and gorgeous as these! A recent obsession of mine as been tartan/plaid/check whatever you call it, as it's so cozy and goes with everything, I don't even need to think about my outfit. Lastly, how freakin' gorgeous is this bag, I love it and it looks so much more expensive than it is.

What do you think of my wish list? What are your autumn/winter essentials?

Autumn Essentials ft. SammyDress
Autumn is here and I'm loving it! I love the dark evenings, chilling mornings, all of the gorgeous honey coloured leaves and my autumnal cozy outfits *although there is one thing I don't like about autumn, being blinded while driving by other headlights!*.

I was very kindly sent a few items from the people at Sammydress and I'm loving all of them so today's post, which is annoyingly late, is all about the items I chose from Sammydress and how I have been wearing them over the past week or so! My favourite items are definitely the pretty jacket and the checked dress. Autumn Essentials ft. SammyDress
*Sammydress Yellow Faux Leather Jacket ($28.31 - M)
I have wanted a coloured faux leather jacket for the longest time and I've seen few that I've liked on Zara but I didn't know if it would suit me so I'm glad that I've been able to try this one and I love it! I am petite so I find jackets arms can be really long on me but this one fits me perfectly without any altering at all! I love the colour, the design, it's comfortable; I cannot recommend it enough. I think it pairs really well with monochrome outfits. If you are a UK size 8 or 10 then the Medium size for this jacket will be perfect. Autumn Essentials ft. SammyDress
The photos of this dress, bag and the amazing tee are all taken with my new Canon 750D camera and I am so happy with the photos and the quality - what do you think? I'm either wearing pyjamas or a dress, I'm constantly wearing dresses so when I have to opportunity to choose clothing, I'm always going to choose a dress.

*Sammydress Black and White Checked Dress ($15.16)

I love anything with a plaid/tartan/check pattern, whichever you want to call it, as it's the perfect print for the autumn and winter months - I also love monochrome so it's right up my street. The material is soft, thicker than I thought it would be and the dress is really well made. I adore the pockets (why don't all dresses have pockets?!) and it's so comfortable, particularly with tights and ankle boots.

*Sammydress Tassel Bag ($13.78 - Tan)

As well as dresses, I love bags - I have quite a few but I obviously need more! I love the colour of this bag, it's a gorgeous autumnal shade and I love the design too. The design and shape of the bag is really unique, I haven't see anything like it before. It doesn't quite fit everything I like to carry with me (although to be fair, I do always carry too much) but it is durable and it has a zipper. The only problem I have with this bag is the scent, it has a strong faux leather or PU scent which I am trying to get rid of because I love the bag but I don't want to use it with that scent.
Autumn Essentials ft. SammyDress
Last but not least, I have a gorgeous tee which is similar is the tee's I've reviewed already from Sammydress. On a sidenote, how adorable is this giant pinecone decoration, it's so cute! I'm really loving this second outfit, it's exactly the kind of outfit I would wear constantly throughout autumn and winter with the addition of a black faux leather jacket and scarf.

*Sammydress Short Sleeve Tee ($6.80)

I want to say how soft and cozy this tee is, I am so impressed with the quality of this and the other tee's from Sammydress that I've tried and I cannot recommend them enough - especially for the price!  Sarcasm is bascially a second language for me so this tee is perfect; it's a great tee when you are having a cozy day as it's great for lounge wear!

Overall, again I'm so impressed with the quality of all of the items I've tried from Sammydress! I particularly love the tee, dress and the jacket and I know I will get so much use out of them probably until the spring. I cannot recommend Sammydress enough. Also I'm loving my new Canon 750D camera!

Have you bought anything from Sammydress? What do you think of the items I've picked/my outfits?

Aquascutum Luxe Wish List
My wish lists for autumnal clothing, accessories, bags and coziness is growing by the day! I have so far mostly refrained from buying everything *mainly because I want to buy a new camera which is almost £600* but I have treated myself to a few new books and I've been lucky enough to be sent some lovely new autumnal clothing - posts coming soon. Today's post is a wish list featuring the brand Aquascutum which is a luxury British clothing brand which began as Mayfair tailors in 1851. Their iconic trench coat was used by soldiers during the first and second world wars!

Mika Wool Cardigan  -  Nova Scarf  -  Club Check Cosmetics Case  -  Bewryn Club Check Scarf  -  Tilsbury Trench Coat

My wish list features one of their gorgeous trench coats which definitely still has an almost utilitarian, military design but much more chic. Annoyingly the gorgeous navy bag doesn't seem to be on the website anymore, or maybe I just can't find it, the website definitely isn't the best! I adore the club check print, it's so autumnal and classic. This is a collaborative post.

Have you bought anything from Aquascutum? What do you think of the items in my wish list?

Autumnal Makeup ft. Blank Canvas Cosmetics
Blank Canvas Cosmetics is a brand I've seen so many times on blogs and youtube and every time their products receive rave reviews so I was very excited when I received a package including the much talked about *Pippa Palette (£31.58) as well as the *Blank Canvas Cosmetics E24 Brush (£6.31, sale).

Blank Canvas Cosmetics collaborated with Pippa O'Connor Ormond to create a gorgeous palette containing six eyeshadows, a highlighter, blush and bronzer. The packaging is so cute and even though it is cardboard, it still feels durable and sturdy. Usually cardboard palettes have an awful magnetic closure but this one is great so it would actually be fantastic for travelling.

The shades are so wearable and perfect for everyday! Initially they all look matte but a few do contain a tiny amount of fine glitter but on me the glitter doesn't really translate to the skin once blended. Here's a run down of the shades included:

K.D: Deep Matte Black
Dodo: Warm Matte Cocoa Brown
Susu: Medium Tan Brown
Tobi: Pink Beige
Ollie: Creamy Light Beige
Lily: Slightly Shimmery Cream
Lulu: Shimmery Golden Highlighter
Pipsy: Matte Peachy Pink Blush
Amour: Matte Warm Light Brown Bronzer

The shadows have a creamy, smooth texture that makes them incredible quick, easy and fuss free to blend. The pigmentation is great for all of the shades, they wear really well - there is minimal creasing at the end of the day even without a primer and they blend perfectly with the E24 brush. I used the Lily shade on the brow bone and inner corner, the Ollie shade all over the lid and a combination of the Tobi and Susu shades in the outer corner, crease and lower lash line.
Autumnal Makeup ft. Blank Canvas Cosmetics
The blush shade is so pretty and natural on the skin and the bronzer is great to add some warmth to my very pale skin but unlike some bronzers it doesn't look orange or muddy. The highlight shade looks so gorgeous too. I have been using it as a brow bone and a cheek bone highlight. It does look shimmery on the skin but it is still relatively subtle although it can be built up until it is such a beautiful, intense golden highlight. The highlighter is SO similar to Mary Loumanizer by TheBalm! Overall rating: ★★★★★, 5/5.

The *Blank Canvas Cosmetics E24 Brush on the website looks like it would be a little scratchy but it's so incredibly soft and smooth. It is great for laying down a base colour, blending eyeshadow along the lower lash line and apply my brow bone highlight. For the price, the brush is fantastic and I can't recommend it enough. Overall rating: ★★★★★, 5/5.
Autumnal Makeup ft. Blank Canvas Cosmetics
Overall, I think this palette is a perfect all round palette and the quality is amazing! The shadows are pigmented, smooth, creamy and easy to blend and wear well throughout the day. I love all of the shades and they are great for everyday wear. The blush, highlight and bronzer are also a nice addition to the palette - especially the highlighter which is such a close dupe to Mary Loumanizer by TheBalm. The only negative I have is that a couple of the eyeshadows are a bit powdery/chalky but other than that it's amazing! The brush is also great, super affordable and I cannot recommend these products enough.

Have you tried anything from Blank Canvas Cosmetics? What do you think of this palette or the look I created?

Book Review: Heap House

Book Review: Heap House
The colder autumnal and winter months are perfect for spooky, dark and quirky reads; I've already read quite a few creepy books so far this month and this is one of them although even though it does have creepy elements, it's definitely more quirky, atmospheric and unusual - think Tim Burton.

I was very kindly sent *Heap House by Edward Carey (£7.99) by Hot Key Books which is the first book in the Iremonger trilogy. I adore the cover, it's so unusual and unique - it also looks quite gothic. The Hoy Key Books I have all have a pie chart style symbol on the back depicting the main themes and topics within the book which I think is a fantastic idea! For this book the themes are stated as friendship, gothic, revenge and escape.

The book follows the massive Iremonger family including Clod Iremonger who are all very eccentric. They've created a frankstein's monster of a house all full of the family and distant relatives, the house is pretty much a character of it's own...The majority of the family and plethora of distant relatives who act as servants, never leave the house as it's surrounded by the heaps which are gigantic, mountain like structures of rubbish. New servants are brought in every so often, including a curious girl called Lucy Pennant and she makes an unlikely and adorably cute friendship with Clod.

The Iremonger family are more than a little unusual and one of their main eccentricities are their birth objects; when an Iremonger is born, a member of the family gives them a 'birth object' which can be anything from a bath plug to a fireplace. Poor, sickly (but cute and delightful) Clod can hear birth objects and he knows that something is wrong, not just with the birth objects but the house in general and he endeavours to find out what has caused the disturbance and the odd peace the family have found for themselves in their own unique, topsy turvy world.

I love the writing style, it's incredibly easy and quick to read and I also love the illustrations throughout the book even though some are a little creepy to say the least. You get so many points of view from the family members and servants, each one with an illustration, so it can be a little confusing just because there are SO many characters but it is an unusual, essenctric and easy read that has such a fantastic quirky and victorian atmosphere. There are a few twists and turns all of which are a little predictable and I wasn't massively happy with the ending but I would definitely recommend it - I think it would be an incredible film, if done correctly and if Tim Burton directed it as this is definitely Tim Burtonesque already! I definitely want to carry on with the trilogy! Overall rating: ★★★★☆, 4/5.

Have you read anything from Edward Carey? What are you currently reading?

Homeware Mood Board
When the seasons change, I always want to buy a range of gorgeous new clothing, accessories and homeware and this season I'm drawn to copper, greys, peaches and natural tones and textures - well, I love copper/rose gold all of the time, I am a blogger after all! I'm always drawn to more unusual homeware, here's my autumnal homeware mood board and wish list:

Pom Pom Stripe Throw  -  Woodwick Cedar Candle  -  Cattelan Italia Carioca Table  -  Astronaut Vase  -  East of East Smoke & Musk Candle  -  Grey Stool  -  Acorn Trinket Pot

I love the vase but sadly it's out of stock until November! I also love the candles, I adore candles during the colder months (obviously I'm obsessed with hygge at the moment and candles are very important to the feeling of hygge). I also love the unique dining table from FishPools and as well are looking for a new one, I'll definitely keep this one in mind as it's just gorgeous.
Homeware Mood Board

I'm also obsessed with scrolling through Pinterest at rose gold, blush and natural/plant inspired homeware, decor and styles. If you are looking for any kind of inspiration then definitely head to Pinterest, although it will be difficult to stop scrolling! This is a sponsored post but all thoughts/opinions are my own.

What do you think of my mood board and wish list items? What shades are you loving for the autumnal months?

Cozy Autumn Candles ft. Gift Company

Cozy Autumn Candles ft. Gift Company
Candles are a year round essential for me, I love the way they make any room instantly homely, cozy and more autumnal but I do tend to burn more candles from late August until mid-spring when the days are still chilly and a bit dark. I was very kindly sent a few gorgeous candles from the lovely people at Gift Company.

*Gift Company Salted Caramel Candle (£6.99, SALE)
Last year I discovered the gloriousness of salted caramel, yes, I know years behind everyone else so I was excited to try this salted caramel candle out. The design is similar to a certain large candle brand so obviously I like the design and look of the candle. The scent isn't quite what I thought it would be, it's really musky, festive and rich whereas I thought it would be chocolatey and sweet. Although having said that I do like the scent, it's very autumnal but not really salted caramel in my opinion. As with other large jar candles I've tried over the years, I do find that they burn fairly evenly but I can get some tunnelling with large jar candles, no matter what the brand is. The scent is relatively subtle but I think that is a pretty good thing with this scent as if it was strong, it could definitely be too overpowering. Overall rating: ★★★★☆, 4/5.

*Gift Company Fireside Snooze Candle (£6.99, SALE)
This candle is the one I was SO excited about as it reminded me of a Bath and Body Works candle, I can't remember the name but I've wanted it for ages. Again, I quite like the packaging and the design. The scent of this candle is gorgeous, it's musky, deep and almost leathery, if that makes sense. It reminds me of the leather sofa and fire that was in my granddads house when I was a child. The scent is subtle and I wish it was a little stronger as it's a lovely autumn/winter scent. Overall rating: ★★★★★, 5/5.
Cozy Autumn Candles ft. Gift Company
*Gift Company Capuccino Truffle Candle (£3.99, SALE)
Ok, this one is my favourite of the three that I have as it's such a lovely vanilla, rich and creamy scent which is perfect for the autumn season as it's a really cozy and warming scent, to me anyway. I love the packaging so much more than the  other candles - it looks more professional, clean looking and interesting. It's a smaller candle so there is no issue burning it and I cannot recommend it enough. Also for the price all three candles are amazing and well worth checking out. Overall rating: ★★★★★, 5/5.

What do you think of these candles? Have you bought anything from Gift Company? What candle scents do you love to burn during the Autumn months?

Autumn Haul ft. Sammydress

Autumn Haul ft. Sammydress
Autumn is here and I couldn't be happier to see the end of summer as the weather over the past few months has been so muggy, humid and warm which I hate! It's started to become chilly and I love it as it means, layering, tights, boots and all of the knitwear I could possible wear. I was very kindly sent a few autumnal products to try out from the lovely people at Sammydress.

The first item I chose was the *Sammydress Short Sleeve Flare Red Dress ($10.43) which is the kind of dress I wear pretty much everyday. I love t-shirt dresses, they are so quick and easy to style and they are so comfortable too; plus they hide food babies really well...The colour is perfect for the autumnal and christmassy seasons. I've just paired it with black tights (Primark, obviously), Newlook ankle boots and my Newlook faux leather jacket.

My favourite item is something I wouldn't usually choose but I'm in love with it; the *Sammydress Crossbody Star Bag ($12.88) which is just perfect. The bag came so cutely packaged, I think the brand logo is a bear and it's adorable. The bag is bigger than I thought it would be, it's also really thick, durable and sturdy. It comes in gold, silver and black, I love the gold, it's gorgeous! I will be using this bag so much throughout halloween, christmas and new year.
Autumn Haul ft. Sammydress
The last three items are gorgeous t-shirts that are perfect for layering and more importantly lounge wear because lets be honest, the autumn/winter months are ALL for lounge wear and cozy pyjamas! My favourite t-shirt is the *Sammydress Letter Print T-Shirt ($8.22) which is currently sold out in the size I have which is M, medium. The T-Shirt says 'Awkward Is My Speciality', well it spells speciality differently but I am still getting so much use out of this tee. The slogan couldn't sum me up better; also the fabric is SO soft!

I also have the *Sammydress Simple Scoop Neck T-Shirt ($6.74) which is also so so soft, it looks and feels like it is from Topshop! I love the simple design, it is perfect for everyday and lounge wear. The last one I had to get because it's a bit halloweeny (if that is even a word!?); the *Sammydress Alien Print T-Shirt ($10.92) which is a 'one size' T-Shirt. The fit isn't great on me, it's a little short and a little tight and I'm a UK size 8-10, I'm still going to wear it as I LOVE the little alien and raglan design.

Overall, I love all but one of the items, the one I wasn't crazy about is the alien t-shirt and that's just because of the fit, not the quality or design. I am so happy with the dress, bag and grey T-Shirts and I can't recommend them enough! The quality is fantastic, I love the simple designs and the prices are amazing! Sammydress also has an app which you can download from the app store.

What do you think of the items I chose? Have you bought from Sammydress?

I love layering, cosy jumpers, ankle boots and autumnal makeup shades. The desire to spend my entire bank balance and more on new autumnal clothing, accessories and makeup...and candles....is testing my will power. Here's my autumn wish list:

Retro American Sweatshirt  -  Joules Jumper  -  Fiorelli Tan Bag  -  Brantano Womens Ankle Boots  -  Clinique Matte Lipstick  -  Motel Dress

How gorgeous is the dress, jumpers, boots, bag and lipstick, well everything! I love the print of the dress, it's very autumnal and halloweeny (is that a word?!) to me and halloween is one of my favourite holidays.

What do you think of the autumnal items on my wish list? Whats on your current wish list?
