Back to School Beauty Picks

Thursday, October 10, 2013
Here are my back to school, university, work beauty products that I love and they are also purse friendly too! From makeup and skincare, here are handbag essentials that I love!

All images from Google

1. Soap & Glory Lid Stuff Quad, whats nude (£10): I have been using this quad since maybe November last year and I have loved it since I first used it! The pink shade (top right) is my favourite as it is great as a skin tone base and all but one of the shades are matte so they would be great for a natural, school day look. The shades do not crease at all with a primer and without a primer they do not crease easily - which is impressive because pretty much every thing creases on me.

2. ELF (eyes, lips, face) Bronzer, Cool (£3.75): For contouring, pale skins can struggle because bronzers and contouring products can look muddy or orange on pale skin tones but this bronzer quad is fantastic. All of bronzer shades are matte, they do not look muddy or orange on my skin and the white shade is great for sharpening up the contour.

3. Simple Rich Moisturiser (£3.89): This facial moisturiser is just a staple product for me, it is hydrating (although because I have super dry skin I need a couple of layers) and it is really cheap too. It is a basic but effective moisturiser that I cannot rave about enough!

4. ELF Tone Correcting Concealer(£1.50): Another great product from ELF (eyes, lips, face) and it is their tone correcting concealer. This is the first concealer that I have used that is dewy and that does not crease - I love it! Also it is so so cheap, whats not to love. Although it doesn't offer than much coverage but it is great for under the eyes and to cover pores/slight redness.

5. MUA Clear Mascara (£1): I have used this product as a clear mascara and it is good but it doesn't hold a curl that well. It is also good as a brow gel and I have been using it to tame flyaways - I just lightly brush through the wispy hair that doesn't behave when my hair is tied up. Overall, it is average but it has a lot of uses and it is very cheap.

6. Maybelline Baby Lips 'Cherry me' (£2.99): These little tinted lip balms have been the talk of the beauty community for ages! I have the cherry and pink shades, I hate the pink one because it is too much of a light baby pink for me but the cherry one is really nice. Also they are handy, cheap and give a slight wash of colour, perfect for school/college/work.

My Travel Makeup

Saturday, August 10, 2013
Here is my travel makeup, I was so busy taking photographs for this post because I created this post the day we were going on holiday - not very organised but here are all of the travel makeup products I am currently using on my holiday.
Base products: For base product I took the Becca Radiant Skin Satin Finish Foundation in the shade Porcelain which is a really great match for me. I took this foundation because even though I haven't used it a lot, I really like it, it makes my skin look like skin and it lasts fairly well. I also took my Jemma Kidd Moisture Tint as well if my skin is drier than usual. To set my makeup I bought along the amazing Revlon Nearly Naked powder which is almost invisible on the skin. Other base products I took include the: Body Shop Moisturise it Primer, my trusty Cosmopolitan Beauty Foundation Sponge and my Clinique Airbrush Concealer. Oh and for contour and bronzing I took the ELF Bronzer in the shade Cool and it is just fantastic!

Eyes and Brows: For my eyeshadow primer I took my Nars Proprime which is the best eyeshadow primer I have ever used and I bought my Soap & Glory Whats Nude Eyeshadow Quad which I have been using for months and months and I still love it! For my brows I am bringing a new addition to my makeup collection, it is the Loreal Super Liner Brow Artist Pencil in the shade 03 which is great. Also for my brows I am taking a brow gel which is essential for me and it is the Revlon Brow Styling Gel which is the only one I have now because my Gosh Brow Gel ran out a few days ago. Also if I want to wear liner while I am on holiday I took the Laura Geller Inkwell Waterproof Gel Liner which is in a nice handy travel container (it comes with a brush in the lid). I am taking my Bare Minerals Flawless Definition Waterproof Mascara too which isn't my favourite but it will do.

Lips: For lips I am only taking on lip pencil - the Illamasqua Medium Pencil in the shade Ascend and I am not taking any lipsticks because I don't want them to melt or get ruined during travelling. I am also taking a lip gloss, the Laura Mercier Lip Glace in the shade Sweetheart because it looks amazing on the lips and the longevity is pretty good too. In terms of lip balms I am taking my trusty Burts Bees Beeswax Balm because it is cooling and soothing.

Look out for my other travel beauty posts coming soon! Ps. I cannot comment because this is a pre-written post while I am away x

Makeup Collection: Eyeshadow and Face Palettes

Friday, May 03, 2013
Here is the fifth (phew) post about my makeup collection - this post is all about my palettes - some are just eyeshadow palettes but others contain face and lip products too.
The first set of palettes includes all of my drugstore/high street palettes: I have eyeshadow palettes from Soap and Glory, Smashbox, Kiko, Avon, MUA, Bobbi Brown, Revlon and Elizabeth Arden.

My favourite palette in terms of colours have to be the MUA palettes, I have the first undressed palette which I love and it is only about £4, although I bought mine for £3 online. The kiko palettes are great too, Kiko has to be one of my favourite high street/drug store brands! But my favourite cheaper palette has to be my Soap and Glory Lid Stuff Quad in the shade 'whats nude' I have been using it for about 8 months now (or a bit longer) and I use it everyday I wear makeup. There is only one shimmer shade, the other three are matte which I love - I love the shades, the smooth texture and they hardly crease, which is very impressive as 99% of products crease on my eyes.

The second set of palettes include my expensive palettes from: Dior, Nars, Laura Mercier, Burberry and Lancome. My favourite palettes overall have to be the Dior ones, I have three Dior palettes (two of which I bought at duty free). When ever I go on holiday I always buy something from duty free and it is usually a Dior palette or some kind of makeup set. I also really like the Nars palettes and my Burberry palette.

What are your favourite palettes?
