Saturated Colour Lipstick Mattifier + Scrub
Back in May 2015, I reviewed the Kiss Cosmetics Lip Scrub but since then the brand has changed it's name and I was kindly sent a couple of products from them to review, including the *Saturated Colour Scrub Stick (£6.50) which I really liked last year. The lip scrub is in a lipstick/lip balm form so it is really quick and easy to use. I rated it 4/5 stars last year and my rating is still the same - it's definitely worth a try!

I also received the *Saturated Colour Make Me Matte Lipstick Mattifier (£8) which is one of their newest products and I was very excited to try it as I haven't seen a product like this before! I love matte lipsticks but I don't have that many so a product that can change any lipstick into a matte version is amazing! I've tried it below with the Makeup Revolution Lipstick in Chauffer and Nars Velvet Matte Lip Pencil in Dolce Vita. The Makeup Revolution lipstick definitely has a more glossy finish and it mattified the lipstick instantly! The effect is fantastic and it does feel matte on the lips but it isn't very drying on me. I tried it with a satin/matte lipstick and it made it even more matte.

One negative for me is that it can rub off some of the lipstick underneath as you apply the mattifier but I find that if you apply lightly and then pat it onto the lips then it works really well. I'm really impressed with the mattifying effect and it seems to help my lipstick stay on for a little bit longer too. I can't recommend it enough, it's well worth trying. Overall rating: ★★★★☆, 4/5.

Kiss Cosmetics Scrub Stick

Friday, May 08, 2015
Kiss Cosmetics as a new makeup brand, they have a couple of new products on their website with products launching frequently. I have their fourth product, the new *Kiss Cosmetics Scrub Stick which will be launching on the website on the 13th May.

I love lip products, from lip stains and lipsticks to lip balms and of course lip scrubs. I have tried the Lush scrubs but as they are in a jar, I don't tend to use them too often. The ELF lip scrub is great but ELF isn't being sold in the UK anymore.

The Kiss Cosmetics Scrub Stick is packaged in a chunky lip balm twist up tube which I LOVE. I also like the design of the packaging. The scrub claims to exfoliate and condition your pout! The scrub stick looks like any other lip balm but it does contain sugar grains.

The packaging makes this lip scrub relatively quick, easy and mess free to use so it would be great for travelling when compared to most lip scrubs which come in glass tubs. The product is a lip balm with sugar in it which not only gently exfoliates the lips but it feels so nourishing too. I apply the scrub from the tube then I rub it in with my finger otherwise too much product will be applied.

The scrub stick has a soft texture, I wish it wasn't as soft as it isn't as exfoliating as it could be. However it does gently exfoliate and smooth the lips. I apply a lip balm afterwards and then my lips are prepped for whatever lip product I apply, even the most matte, drying lipsticks I own.

Overall, I love the packaging and the concept as well as the ease of use and the final effect; however I wish the texture wasn't so soft as it would be more exfoliating if the balm was harder, which is what my lips need sometimes. Overall rating: ★★★★✩, 4/5.
