E45 Overnight Hand Cream + Lotion

Monday, February 23, 2015
I hosted a giveaway featuring E45 back in January and it went down so well, from the comments most people have tried and love E45 products. I have tried it years and years ago but I was excited to try their products again along with one of their newer releases.

The product I was most excited to try is the *E45 Repair & Protect Overnight Hand Cream (£3.99, 50ml) which as a sufferer of eczema and very dry hands this product sounds like a dream to me! I started using it during the day and it works so well at reducing the appearance and feel of dryness as well as the tight feeling associated with dryness and eczema. The cream doesn't irritate the eczema I have on my hand and it absorbs fairly quickly. Since finding a faster absorbing hand cream for daytime use, I have been using this product solely overnight with cotton gloves which leaves my hands so smooth and moisturised; it reduces the look of eczema on my hand too. Overall rating: ★★★★★, 5/5.

Next up is one of their original products, the *E45 Moisturising Lotion (£4.70, 200ml). I haven't tried this product before and from the claims it sounds like it is great for dry, sensitive skin types which apart from my face and hands I don't really have. However, it is a lightweight but moisturising lotion that doesn't leave any residue and it absorbs relatively quickly. I would personally want to use a body butter rather than a lotion but if you don't like heavy body butters or if you do have sensitive skin then this would be a fantastic product to try. Overall rating: ★★★★☆, 4/5.

Overall, E45 is such a fantastic, back to basics brand that is perfect for those with dry, sensitive skin, including skin conditions such as eczema. Both products are effective and lovely to use although the overnight hand cream is the one that will be on my shopping list when it runs out!

Have you tried either of these products or any from E45?

Review: Thea Super Nourish Beauty Butter

Thursday, November 06, 2014
If you have following for the past couple of months you will have noticed this brand already, as I have reviewed a few samples of skincare from this brand which I really liked, here.  Thea is an award winning natural skincare brand. The products contain natural and organic ingredients, they are cruelty free and free from parabens! Ps. sorry for the photo of my eczema, I know it looks awful, although that is a fairly good day for my body eczema!

I have the *Thea Super Nourish Beauty Butter Hand & Body Creme (£24.95, 200ml) which contains among other ingredients, aloe leaf juice, carrot seed oil, organic shea butter, avocado oil and cocoa butter! My only negative point about Thea Skincare is that the packaging could be improved, I feel like it is a little simple and outdated. However the products themselves are fantastic, in my opinion.

The hand and body creme is very thick but it has a smooth texture so it applied quickly and easily to the skin. I have been using it mainly as a hand cream as my hands become very dry anyway but during the colder months combined with central heating, it can really dry out my skin. Also I have a very large patch of eczema on my left hand which almost looks like a burn which can be extremely dry and it can burn/string often. This hand cream doesn't irritate my eczema at all which is fantastic, it also alleviates dryness, tightness and flakiness (gross, sorry!) almost instantly.

The hand cream doesn't take very long to absorb, although it isn't the fastest absorbing hand cream (that would either be the Kiehls hand salve or the Rodial super food hand cream). The cream leaves my hand feeling soft, smooth, moisturised and nourished which is just what I need at this time of the year!

Overall, this is another product from Thea Skincare that I am very happy with - it just works effectively and doesn't irritate my eczema. I have also used it on my nails/cuticles and elbows and again it works very well. Overall rating: ★★★★★, 5/5.
