Self Care Saturday: Pampering

Saturday, February 03, 2018
Today's post is another 'Self Care Saturday' post which is a new series I'm starting on my blog where I focus on various elements that involves self care, from health, pampering, neglected beauty issues and more. I published the first post in this series last month which focused on headaches, eye health and solutions for contact lens wearers but today's post is about pampering and a few of my current bath/body and haircare favourites.

*Bamboo Bath Caddy via Bathroom Takeaway (£34.97)
I have wanted a bath caddy or bath tray for so long and I have actually had a bath caddy within my saved items on Amazon for at least six months but I have't got round to buying one. Last month I was very kindly sent a gorgeous bath caddy from the wonderful people over at Bathroom Takeaway and I couldn't be happier with it so I'm glad that I didn't buy one a while ago.

The bath caddy is made of bamboo, it has a space for a mug or candle and a glass as well as space for toiletries, bath bombs or pamper products. It's extendable but the shortest length fits my bath really well, it feels secure and stable when it's over the bath and there is also a slot for your phone.

I have been using this bath caddy every time I have a bath which during the winter is quite often and I absolutely love it - I won't be taking a bath without from now on! I love that I can have a book or my iPad, my phone and pamper products in front of me and it makes for nice blog/social media photos...It makes reading or listening to audiobooks in the bath a far less dangerous prospect! If you are looking for a bath caddy/tray then I cannot recommend this one enough.
Around the time I received the bath caddy, I also received an incredible surprise package from the amazing people at Bomb Cosmetics. If you didn't know, I'm one of their blogger ambassadors which means that every so often I receive some of their products to review and everything has been amazing so far especially the bath blasters, hand cream and candles. If you're looking for a cheaper version of Lush but with an equally as cute range of bath products and bath bombs then check out Bomb Cosmetics.

*Bomb Cosmetics Strawberry Fields Body Polish (£7.99)
One of the products I received was this super cute body polish/exfoliator that smells so heavenly! It smells like strawberry bubblegum to me which is so nostalgic and perfect for the upcoming spring season (I can't wait!). It's exfoliating but it isn't harsh and it is bright pink...yes!

*Bomb Cosmetics 'Pick Your Own' Bath Blaster (£2.99)
I also received a few bath blasters, all of which smell amazing but this one was the strongest smelling in the box. The whole box I received had an incredible sweet, strawberry and candy scent to it which I loved. The bath bomb in the photos isn't this one - I used one from Lush that was crumbling to pieces but the 'pick your own' bath bomb turned the water a cloudy white shade with little strawberry seeds floating around. Bomb Cosmetics have an amazing range of products, most of which are adorable and they also have a wonderful Valentine's Day range as well.
*Envy Professional Gentle Cleansing Shampoo (£14.95)
I don't think I'm the only one to do this but I always just choose the cheapest or the haircare products that are on sale rather than choosing products that are good for my hair or will pamper it a little. I've finished up my cheaper products and now I'm going to focus on effective, high quality products instead as my hair is long, constantly tangled and colour treated so it needs a little extra care.

I've been using this shampoo and conditioner duo from Envy Professional for the past couple of weeks and I've been loving them. The shampoo lathers really well but it doesn't irritate my skin and it doesn't weigh my hair down either; however it leaves my hair clean, smooth and nourished.

*Envy Professional Detangling Conditioner (£14.95)
My favourite haircare product from the past couple of months has to be the detangling conditioner from Envy Professional. My hair is currently just past my waist in length and it's very thick too so naturally it's constantly a birds nest of tangles which takes my 15 minutes (I'm not joking) to detangle and brush out. Thankfully this moisturising, smoothing and detangling conditioner has definitely been helping in my attempt to have tangle free, smooth and more manageable hair.

*Envy Professional Dual Fix 12 Treatment (£19.95)
Lastly for this post, I have been negating my hair treatments and masks over the past few months but I've been using this one once a week and I'm loving it and feel so much better when I look after myself. I've only used this treatment a couple of times but I think it has definitely had a positive effect on my hair as it's smoother, softer and a little shiner/healthier looking.

What are your pampering essentials?

  21. I've bought a bath caddy before but it's always been metal and just ended up going rusty and me throwing it into the bin. I think I'll try out a bamboo one now, never thought of getting one that's wood :) x
