It's coming towards the end of the year, how is it even October already! I'm not complaining as October is my favourite month and I definitely prefer the colder months but it seems as though this year has gone by in a flash. I've smashed some of my 2017 goals already in terms of my reading goals, driving goals and health/weight loss goals; also I've started learning Italian again and I've reached a couple of social media goals. However, there's so much more to do! Here are my current goals and some of my goals for 2018 which is only 81 days away!
Starting A Business + Selling OnlineI have always wanted to be someone who is creative and more recently someone who can make a living online by writing and having a small business. I have so many ideas but I have no idea where to start although thankfully I'm half accomplishing that goal as I'm able to work on my blog full time and as a paid freelance writer part time too.
I love creating things and writing so I think a small online business would be ideal for me and recently I've been getting comments on Twitter, Instagram and my blog about the arm knitted blanket I made which is featured in almost every blog post or social media photo. Thankfully they've all been positive about how cosy it looks as well as where people can buy it so I'd love to make some to sell as part of an online business although I don't know if anyone would be interested. One aspect I've been looking into is shipping handmade products. Thankfully TNT, a global shipping company, has a range of delivery options which are great for online businesses with quotes from £6.95.
Improving My DrivingBack in December 2016, I passed my driving test and since then I've been trying to improve my driving abilities as it's something that is important to improve - I feel as though some people, once they've passed their test, can become complacent and less safe as a driver (I see this all the time when I drive!). I feel as though I have improved this year, in terms of my ability and confidence. I am thinking about taking a few motorway driving courses next year so if you have gone on any extra courses then let me know.
Photography CoursesI have always been interested in photography but since I started blogging it's become a necessary to improve my photography, constantly upgrade my cameras and learn as much as I can because photography is a huge part of blogging. I have been looking into photography courses with the Open University and there's one that I'm definitely interested in so fingers crossed it will be checked off my goals list by the end of next year at the latest!
Save Money + Part Time JobWhile my freelance writing and blog does bring in an income, it isn't enough to live off fully and as with any freelance job, it's very changeable and inconsistent so I definitely need to save more, spend less (a difficult task for a blogger as we are all such enablers) and look for a part time job which I have been doing on and off for the past couple of months but I need to stop doubting my abilities and apply!
Maintain Weight Loss + Become More ActiveAs I said at the beginning of this post, I've already smashed some of my goals for this year which I am really proud of but the one I'm most happy about is my weight loss. Healthy eating and losing weight have been yearly goals of mine for at least the past few years but I never stick to it or lose weight - until this summer. As of today, 12th October 2017, I've lost a stone which isn't an incredible weight loss in general but for me it is, especially as I'm so petite that any weight gained or lost is quite visible.
However, I still want to lose more and reach my goal weight of just less than eight stone, fingers crossed for me and my awful willpower when it comes to pizza. Since exercising almost daily and visiting Norway in August, I've come back with a need to be more physically active. I do live within an hours drive of a few gorgeous lakes, green spaces, lots of parks and wooded areas so I need to visit more often but I'll always wish it was the fjords and forests of Norway instead.
Do you have any end of year goals? What are your goals for 2018 or the future in general? Would you be interested in handmade arm knitted blankets at the right price?

Definitely agree with the statement about people becoming less safe once they've passed their test, I really want to re-master a parallel park as I just can't seem to do it anymore haha! Our goals are pretty similar in all aspects other than the job part - I want to start up my own business too!! I wish you lots of luck with everything and hey, pizza is okay every now and again...

ReplyDeleteI've done an extra driving lesson on the motorway and it was 100% worth it - not gonna lie, everyone who drives on the motorway is pretty awful and they clearly don't understand how you're supposed to drive on the motorway! So I would definitely recommend doing that one. Congratulations on losing a stone as well, that's a massive achievement :) xo
