My Browvolution ft. Eylure

Sunday, June 11, 2017
When I started my blog and finally figured out the importance of brows, not just in life but in terms of your face structure, the only products I used were clear brow gels as my brows were not the thickest or fullest but they are quite wild and needed to be tamed. It actually reached a point were I was making sure my brows were not flying all over the place in the mirror every single lunch time, that's how wild they were! Thankfully I wasn't one of those girls who in high school tweezed my brows to death - I was too terrified as some girls in my school literally just had a line of single hairs as brows, sadly I'm not joking *shudders* but I did neglect them for years!

I never used any kinds of brow products apart from clear brow gels or even just clear mascara on my brows as when I was growing up, we didn't have Youtube to go to for tutorials or advice (god, I'm old); we only had our mums or cousins who were for the most part equally as clueless, magazines with bright, glittery and cheap makeup included or we had our friends, although they weren't really were they as we encouraged each other to use pale blue eyeshadow and lots of kohl liner...If you want to read more about embarrassing makeup memories then check out my previous posts.
Anyway, I went off on a tangent then down embarrassing memory lane and 'oh why did I do that' avenue. Back on track, thankfully I now know the error of my ways and the impact using brow products can have, not just on your brows but you face in general. I never leave the house without at least a tinted brow gel on as I just don't feel right without doing my brow with either pomade, pencil, gel or tinted gels.

One of my favourite brow brands is definitely Eylure; I've been raving about their pomade for months and months and now I have some other new favourite products to talk about! I was very kindly sent a package full of amazing brow products to try out from Eylure and I'm going to share my thoughts of them all with you. If you follow me on Instagram then you will have seen my #BloggerMail Instagram Stories of these items.
*Eylure Brow Luminizer (£7.45)
Let's start with the surprise of the week and that is this brow highlighter which comes with a creamy matte highlight on one end and a shimmery highlight on the other. I have used a couple of products like this before and because the skin round my eyes is very dry thanks to eczema *aren't I lucky*, I find products like this too cakey and they end up emphasising the dryness but not this one!

Both sides are very creamy, they glide and blend onto the skin so effortlessly without pulling the skin and without making my brow bone look flakey and cakey. I have been using the matte side to clean up around my brows after I've filled them in to make them look neater and more defined. I'm so surprised by how much I love this product, I've been using it every single time I apply my makeup and it has very quickly become an essential for me! I also love the shimmery highlight as it isn't glitter and it's great as an inner corner highlight too. I cannot recommend this product enough, you can thank me later. Overall rating: ★★★★★, 5/5.

*Eylure Brow Pencil in Dark Brown (£5.45)
Next up happens to be my second favourite product that I was sent. I've been using it constantly as unlike the pomade (which I do love), it is so quick, easy and fuss free to use. You just fill in with the pencil end and brush through with the spoolie on the other end - job done!

I have dark brown hair that switches between being warm toned and ashy depending on how quickly my hair dye fades and the tone of the hair dye I use but this one matches me perfectly right now. It isn't too dark, it's natural and it is ash toned. Unlike some brow pencils, this one isn't too creamy as most of them are which just leads to drawn on, thick and unnatural looking brows. You can't fault it for the price, it's fantastic and it's definitely a brow pencil I will buy when this one runs out. I wish I had one of these back in my teens! Overall rating: ★★★★★, 5/5.

*Eylure Brow Pomade in Dark Brown (£8.95)
I have been using this brow pomade but in the shade Mid Brown for months and months now and I adore it but as my hair is darker and more ashy toned now, this Dark Brown shade suits me much more. The Mid Brown pomade I've been using looks like a complete mess as I've used it so much!

The pomade is really easy to use although there are a couple of downsides such as: you can easily go overboard and end up with huge, dark, drawn on brows and it can be a little more time consuming compared to gels or pencils. However, you can achieve such gorgeous and defined but natural brows with these pomades. I use the *Eylure Brow Duo Brush & Wand (£6.50) which is another product I've been using for months, to apply and blend the pomade and it's perfect. The brush and spoolie work so well with the pomade and I can't recommend this brow duo enough; although if you're completely new to brow products then you might want to start with a pencil or gel. Overall rating: ★★★★★, 5/5.

*Eylure Brow Stencils (£4.95)
Sticking with the theme of defined brows, brow stencils were the one brow product that I do actually remember from my high school days and then as now, I still don't really understand why they exist but I guess they might be helpful to someone who is new to brow products but I don't think you need them, if I'm completely honest.
*Eylure Brow Amplifier in Dark Brown (£9.95)
This 'brow amplifier' is pretty much a thick, pigmented brow gel that add colour, definition and light hold to the brows. I love the colour match, how quick and easy it is to use and the small brush but I wish the brush was even smaller as I end up applying it to blonde hairs around my brows, making them look very wild and untamed which isn't the look I'm going for. It isn't my favourite brow product but it's great when you just need quick colour without having to use a brush or separate brow gel. Overall rating: ★★★★☆, 4/5.

*Eylure Brow Control and Shape Gel (£6.25)
Speaking of brow gels, I do still use them, especially if I use a pencil beforehand to set my brows. I have used so many brow gels and clear mascaras in the past few years and this is one of my favourites as it sets my brows without leaving them crunchy or hard but I do wish it had a smaller brush as it's currently massive! Overall rating: ★★★★☆, 4/5.

*Eylure Brow Palette Brow Trio in Dark Brown (£9.95)
I'm not really one for brow palettes or brow gels in this solid form but I have been liking this brow powder and highlighter. The brow powder is a great shade match, it blends really well and it is so easy to use. I also like the highlighter as it's matte and perfect to brighten the brow bone and as an all over the lid shade, for my super pale skin tone it's fantastic. However, I don't like the brow wax and I think we've moved on from cheap applicators that are included in palettes like this. Overall rating: all rating: ★★★★☆, 4/5.

Overall, I can't thank Eylure enough as I've found some amazing brow products that have now become staples in my everyday makeup routine such as the amazing brow luminizer, brow pencil, pomade and the clear brow gel. You can see these products in action in my previous posts and on my social media as they're the only products I now use for my brows. Everything is so reasonably priced, you can find it easily online and there are some amazing products, I cannot recommend Eylure enough - if only I knew about them back in my teen days of clear mascara in my brows...

Have you tried any of these products or others from Eylure?
