Marie Curie have started a new campaign, the 'blooming great tea party' which is an amazing name, mainly because it makes me think of Alice in Wonderland. They are encouraging everyone to bake, get together and raise money for Marie Curie and the wonderful and essential work they do. It will take place between the 23rd to the 25th of June so you have time to organise and prepare what you're going to bake.
Check out their website to find out more and to request a free fundraising pack filled with balloons, photo props, bunting, stickers and more! You could host a blooming great tea party at home, at your work or turn it into a garden party! If you don't know what you could make then visit their site for a mixture of classic recipes and very unusual ones too.
I've made a vegan spiced apple cake with a maple syrup and pecan nut frosting with apple crisps that I know isn't very spring or summer appropriate but I just love anything with apples, cinnamon and maple syrup. It was really easy to make and while it isn't the fluffiest cake, it's very delicious - annoyingly I can't find the recipe I followed but the Hot For Food recipe looks amazing.
Will you be taking part in the Marie Curie Blooming Great Tea Party? What's your favourite thing to bake?

ReplyDeleteSuch a wonderful campaign for an absolutely fabulous charity. I have first hand experience with Marie Curie as they helped nurse my father. My Dad was a patient in their hospice for 7 months!!! It was such a diff time for us as a family, but the hospice staff made it so much easier with all of their help, kindness, care and support throughout my Dads illness xoxo
