CND Vinylux Polishes + Weekly Top Coat

Wednesday, May 06, 2015
I am a little bit of a nail polish hoarder, I have so many but I haven't ever come across a brand that has a very long lasting formula on me or an impressive top coat...until now? CND is a brand I haven't heard of before so when a package from justmylook.co.uk arrived I was very excited. I have a mini post on their website featuring these polishes and a quick/easy spring nail art look (here).

I chose the *CND Vinylux Polishes in the shades 'desert poppy', 'mint convertible' and 'clay canyon' (£7.90 each, sale, 15ml). Firstly, I love the packaging and you get double the amount of polish when compared to drugstore and even higher end polishes! I chose these shades as I thought the coral and mint shades would be perfect for spring/summer and the nude shade would be a pretty, neutral everyday polish.

One of the features I look for when it comes to nail polish is a wide brush as it just makes applying polish so much quicker, easier and I'm less likely to make a mistake. The CND brushes are quite wide so application is easy and mess free, on the whole. I immediately wanted to try out the pretty coral shade; it was easy to apply although it needed three thin coats for full opacity. The polish dried relatively quickly, it wasn't streaky or gloopy and it looked glossy. I then applied the *CND Weekly Top Coat (£7.50, sale, 15ml) which is very thick although it did dry quite quickly and it left my nails looking very shiny!

I had the 'desert poppy' shade on my nails for 6 days and in that time I opened packages, made a couple of lemon meringue pies and my daily takes such as emptying the dish washer, typing, photographing products and so on. I also had a couple of Lush bubble baths and I find that baths make my polish peel off quite quickly. However, after six days there was only a tiny amount of tip wear on a few nails and I only had one chip on one nail where I didn't apply the top coat as well as I should have - very impressive! Overall rating: ★★★★★, 5/5!

Overall, I am so impressed with the longevity of these polishes and the effectiveness of the top coat. Also the 'clay canyon' shade is very similar to the cult shade 'barefoot in barcelona' by OPI which is one of my favourite nude polishes. I am looking for more shades and the CND sticky base coat is on my wish list too! Here is my mini justmylook.co.uk wish list ft. CND:

Have you bought anything from justmylook.co.uk? Have you tried any CND polishes?
