Sudocrem, the wonder cream?

Thursday, April 02, 2015
Until receiving this sample the only thing I knew about Sudocrem is that it's great for babies with irritation and nappy rash, I had no idea women were using it as a spot treatment, face mask, to treat cold sores, to help reduce acne and more! Back in 2012 TOWIE stars were using Sudocrem to help with acne and here I was thinking an antiseptic nappy rash cream could be so sought after and have so many uses!

I have the *Sudocream Skin Care Cream (£1.99, 30g) tube which would be fantastic for keeping in your handbag or for travelling. Sudocrem is an antiseptic cream which has a 'clinically proven formulation to care for delicate skin, forming a barrier which protects against irritants, allowing the skin to maintain its natural, healthy and supple condition'.

I first tried the cream on the large and sometimes very irritated and painful patch of eczema on my left hand; I used far too much as the thick white cream didn't rub in or absorb but the second time I used a very small amount on a irritated section and it did help with irritation although again it just sits on the skin as a shiny white layer. It has a slight talc and lavender scent to it which I love.

I have used it as a face mask and it was surprisingly good, I used it mainly on my t-zone and it did leave my skin feeling very smooth and soft although it was a little difficult to remove fully so I used a scrub to take off the mask. I have one mini spot on my forehead and after using this cream as a face, it was definitely smaller.

Overall, I think this seemingly average white cream is a very versatile, useful product to have. It is antiseptic, gentle on the skin and it can be great for spots.

Have you tried Sudocrem? If so, how do you use it?

  2. Sudocrem is literally the best for massive, painful spots! I leave huge white blobs of it all over my face before bed (and look like a mad woman while doing so!) and when I wake up my spots shrink like crazy. It's insane how many uses this lil cream has!
