*Conscious Skincare Candle (£19)Let's start with one of my favourite candles from the past couple of months and it's the lovely smelling rhubarb and cinnamon candle from Conscious Skincare - you may have seen my unboxing of this candle on my Instagram a few weeks ago (follow me on Instagram @ofbeautyand for product unboxings and blogger mail). I haven't tried a candle that is either rhubarb or cinnamon scented for a while and I definitely haven't tried one that combines the two. Firstly I love the packaging for all of the Conscious Skincare products as it is just so minimal but very appealing. The scent is quite unusual and something I haven't had before in a candle form so I think it would definitely make a unique gift for a candle lover this Christmas as I find so many candle scents at this time of the year are very samey and generic but this definitely isn't.
*Aquis Hair Towels (from £30)You may have seen this product already as I did review it quite a while ago and I have been using my first one since then - it has lasted really well! It's a very unique hair towel that is designed to reduce drying time and to minimise friends; it definitely does! When wet the hair is 57% weaker so it is important to look after it while it is wet and that is what this towel does, among other things.
Yes, I won't deny that it is quite pricey for what it is but I have been using mine since 2016 and i use it every single time I wash my hair – it is still going strong and works just as well as it did when I received it. It definitely helps to dry my hair much quicker than normally, it helps to reduce frizz and it is very gentle on my hair. I couldn't ask for anything more in a hair towel and I think it would make an amazing, practical gift for the beauty lover who has everything. Can you tell I've been writing a lot of Christmas gift guides?!
*Hempz Milk and Honey Moisturiser & Body WashNext up on my favourites list of a couple of products from Hempz, it's a brand I haven't tried much from but I'm impressed so far. The milk and honey range is designed to hydrate and nourish the skin while also improving the health and condition of the skin. It contains a great range of natural ingredients such as hempseed oil, rice extract, cocoa butter, shea butter and vitamins A, C and E. It is also paraben free, gluten-free and suitable for vegans which is fantastic!
This may sound a little strange but stick with me! The body lotion from this range smells very similar to a Yankee Candle that I had years ago in the Danish butter cookie scent and it's amazing! Both products are fantastic, they don't irritate my skin and they just work well. I definitely want to try more from this brand as I love the inclusion of natural ingredients and the effectiveness of the products so far.
Tattoo Goo LotionThe only product in this favourites post that I purchased myself is the Tattoo Goo Lotion. Last week I had a tattoo appointment for a fairly large, or at least large to me tattoo covering most of the outside of my upper arm and I wanted to get a lotion that was specifically suited to tattoos. Check out my Instagram Stories for photos. I used the balm from this brand on my wrist tattoos and it works really well so I wanted to try the lotion on my new tattoo - so far it's working perfectly. My tattoo is now at the six-day mark and has reached the healing, dry stage which is not fun at all especially as it is very itchy! The lotion is so gentle but very effective and has been helping my skin stay as moisturised as it can be.
*Freshly Nourishing Shower GelI think my most consistent favourite over the past couple of months has to be the Freshly nourishing shower gel as it is one of the most luxurious feeling, nourishing and hydrating shower gels I've ever used. Shower gels and body washes are something that I don't really think about but this one never fails to impress me each time I use it as it always leaves my skin incredibly smooth, nourished hydrated without being heavy or greasy. I cannot recommend this product enough!
*BBB London Rosewater Mist (£22)My next product before we get onto a few make up items is the BBB London Rosewater Mist which is a gorgeous blend of floral and herbal waters that is ideal as a make up primer or to set your makeup – I even use it as a toner sometimes. I love the glass bottle and minimal packaging as it is very looks very luxurious but simple. Rose scented products can be quite hit or miss for me as they can either be refreshing and floral or they can be overpowering and powdery but thankfully this one is great! I've been loving using it to set my make up or to subtly hydrate it when my foundation or powder is looking a little dry which it has been over the past month or so now that the weather is getting much colder.
*Aromaworks Room & Linen Mist (£20)Next up isn't strictly a beauty product but it's from a great beauty brand so I had to mention it and I've been using it so much since I received it. It's a heavenly scented room and linen mist from Aromaworks which is a brand I've wanted to try for so long. There are a few really mist scents available such as nurture, serenity, soulful and inspire, I have the latter and it is so nice! As with all of their products it came really nicely presented so they'd make great gifts this Christmas.
The mist contains key ingredients such as: bergamont, black pepper, geranium and lime to create a very unique fragrance. You can definitely smell the lime and floral fragrances within the mist – it's very refreshing, floral and musky which is great for this time of the year. It dispenses a really fine mist so it doesn't soak anything you spray it on and the longevity is pretty good too! I've also been liking the nourish exfoliate mask which came in the cutest little box! The mask is designed to improve the signs of ageing, exfoliate and brighten the skin; I can't comment on the anti-ageing aspects but it is definitely a lovely mask to use.
*Carbon Coco Nature Teeth Whitening Toothpaste & PolishNow onto more of an unusual beauty favourite but I've been using the toothpaste for ages and it's become a daily favourite! I reviewed a few Carbon Coco products at the beginning of the year and liked them so I was excited to try more. I was kindly sent the sweet mint polish as well as the original toothpaste, which I've already reviewed.
I have to be honest and say that it is quite unusual at first using a black toothpaste but it works really well in the long term - it definitely helps to improve the whiteness of my teeth but it isn't a harsh or very abrasive product. The toothpaste is also quite mildly minty as well which is great for me! I have been using the polish once a week or so and it is very easy to use (even if it is a little messy) and I think it has been helping alongside the toothpaste.
*Avril Waterproof Mascara (€7)I have a few make up favourites from the past couple of months but my favourite mascara has definitely got to be the Avril waterproof mascara which I've been using constantly. I always have to wear waterproof mascara, I live in Manchester so it's a given that it's going to rain! However waterproof mascaras can be very difficult to remove and the waterproof mascaras I was using previously just weren't cutting it but thankfully this one is far better. It applies really nicely giving my lashes a fluttery, full look but it is gentle on the eyes and easy to remove.
*Avril Eyeshadow & Eyeliner Duo (€4)My final favourite for the months of September and October is the Avril Organic 2 in 1 Eyeshadow & Eyeliner in the shade: beige/bronze. I haven't used a product like this for so long but I'm realising that I should've been as it's so quick and easy to use! I love the beige and bronze shades as they're perfect for every day and they smudge out very easily for defined eyes in seconds. As with the mascara this product is very gentle on the eyes, it doesn't irritate my skin and it is easy to remove which is always a plus. I've only tried a few things from this brand so far but I am already impressed, especially considering the very low price point.
