Christmas is one of the most social times of the year, for me at least with family get togethers, parties, meeting up with friends, christmas events and then there's New Years eve not far behind the Christmas festivities so I'll always want to look nice and feel good in myself for this year of the year, whether that's in terms of my weight, makeup, hair or wardrobe. Here are some of my ideas and a couple of tips for getting ready for a big event, particularly Christmas Day.
Eating WellAs with most things in life, planning is key and for me, I find that the best way to eat well is to plan and track what I'm eating otherwise I'll definitely go over my calories, without even knowing and I'll end up having far too many treat days. I use the Lifesum app which is so easy to use and helps me track my calorie, fat, protein and carbohydrate intake. I know you might be thinking that calorie tracking is for athlete or health freaks but it is genuinely so important to keep it in mind - the same way you'd know the amount of petrol in your car. Calories are fuel so it's something well worth making a mental note of or better yet, keeping track of and not just to loose weight but to stay healthy which is the most important thing! We all want to be healthy and happy in the way we look!
Winter WardrobeMy favourite time of the year is definitely autumn but I also love winter in that I can wear cosy jumpers 24/7; however, christmas and New Years eve pose a little problem. I want to wear nice dresses and heels for events but I also don't want to die from hypothermia so finding the right coat, dress, heels or jacket combo can be a little tricky so I always shop around at this time of the new for new additions to my wardrobe that can be used for lots of outfits, otherwise I'll end up with seven coats, each of which can only be worn with one or two outfits! Shopping around, looking the sales and picking multi-outfit basics are the staples of an easy winter wardrobe.
TreatmentsLast but not least, there are a few treatments I'd like to get done, not just in preparation for christmas but as a permanent treatment. The first is laser hair removal which is something I've wanted done for a very long time! I'd also like to get have a coolsculpting/fat freezing treatment (available by Pulse Light Clinic in London - it is a three minute walk from Bank Station) which is a non-invasive treatment that doesn't involve needles (yes!) and it's a safe treatment to have. Even though I've lost over two stone and I'm very happy with my weight, I still have a couple of areas that I'm not 100% happy with and one of those is my underarms and a little on my stomach so I think a fat freezing treatment would be ideal.
Have you started prepping for christmas - gift buying or planning? What do you think of these ideas?
