Spanish VillaOne quality of the ultimate classic romantic getaway is that you have lots of space and time to yourself. It is for this reason that the two of you will usually want to stay somewhere more private and remote, rather than part of a larger hotel condominium or something of that sort. Something which is always going to be popular is to go to a Spanish villa where it is just the two of you, and this is still worth considering if you are looking for a truly romantic getaway classic that still rocks. If you’re worried about the financial side to this, don’t be: take a look at Interhome.co.uk for some indication of how easily you should be able to afford this kind of easy luxury.
City BreakOf course, that’s not for everyone - and some couples prefer to remain in the thick of it. If you want to try and be fairly central and enjoy a little more activity than those staying in the countryside, then going for a city break might be the best option for you as a couple. If you want to go the real traditional route, then you’ll do something like a weekend in Paris, which is still just about as romantic as it gets. Of course, you can go anywhere so long as it is a city which the both of you would like to visit - so bear that in mind if you feel a little lost as to where you want to go. You don’t have to go for the classic romantic spot, but it works if you do want to.
Island TimeFor those who want more of the traditional lying back and doing nothing by the sea, an island could be the way to go. Here, you tend to get the best of both worlds, as you can find some private space for the two of you but also get involved in the smaller community that island life tends to offer. Whether it is Barbados or Hawaii, going to an island together can be a truly remarkable way to spend time together, and is often seen as the ideal for a bit of a luxury holiday for two. Once you’re on island time, everything else will fall away.

ReplyDeleteWe spent a week in Rome and it was perfect but definitely a couples thing. It was so hot and busy, I'd hate to bring little ones there!
ReplyDeleteI love a city break and a holiday in the sun equally. But if we were going for ultimates probably the Maldives! I think it would be amazing!

I always pick the city break. I need to be kept active while away so I choose places based on the activities available to do. I'm off to Athens in a few weeks and cannot wait for all the history!
ReplyDeleteI love a good city break as I like to have things to do! I tend to get a little bored with sun sand and sea holidays after a week! xx
ReplyDeleteThey all sound lovely. I like a mix of city and beach so you can have chill days and sight seeing.
