*Joan Collins Beauty Divine Lips Lipstick in Evelyn (£18)Let's take a moment to appreciate the luxe, decadent packaging of these stunning lipsticks! The divine packaging side, the shade is equally gorgeous. The shade 'Evelyn' is described as a fresh coral but to me it's more of a classic bright hot pink. It's a shade that instantly brightens your eyes and complexion *unless that's just a kind of placebo effect of wearing an uplifting shade*. It is the perfect spring and summer shade as it just screams days at the beach, hot weather, sunshine and garden parties.
The formula is very creamy, it applies like a dream and it feels so smooth and moisturising on the lips. It is also very pigmented, glossy and creamy so much so that it almost feels like a thick lip balm. The lipsticks have been formulated to actively hydrate the lips and tests have shown improved hydration after 30 days, although I don't know how often you would have to wear the lipsticks in order for that benefit to show. As it's so creamy it does transfer easily and the wear time isn't amazing but it is pretty good at around three/four hours.
*Joan Collins Divine Lips Lipstick in Bella (£18)Again, as with the previous shade, the formula is very creamy, smooth and hydrating as well as being very pigmented. It doesn't highlight dryness, it doesn't have a strong scent and it looks so beautiful on my desk. The shade 'Bella' is described as pretty pink with cool undertones which does describe it well but it's much paler than I thought it would be. As the shade is such a pastel pale pink, it doesn't suit my very pale skintone in my opinion and it has the unfortunate side effect of making my teeth look very yellow!
The shade isn't quite as long wearing as the gorgeous Evelyn shade but the formula is so gorgeous; they are two of the nicest feeling and packaged lipsticks I own. It's just a shame that the Bella shade doesn't quite suit me as it is such a pale pink shade.
