Through my blog I've been able to find a few brands and products that don't irritate my skin and help to keep my skin as comfortable and moisturised as it can be such as Antipodes, Lush and Caudalie products but here are my latest favourites from a brand that's new to me - Cetraben.
Cetraben is a brand with a range of skincare solely produced for those with sensitive, dry, eczema prone and problematic skin types and mine definitely fits into these categories. The products don't contain any animal derived ingredients, they are not tested on animals and the products are suitable for all ages. I was kindly sent a few of their products to try out and I've been loving them!
*Cetraben Daily Cleansing Cream (£7.99, 200ml)Let's start with the 2 in 1 cleanser and moisturiser (to be honest I'm never a fan of 2 in 1 or 3 in 1 products like this) which is suitable for children and adults. It's free from parabens, lanolin (which is great as it's derived from sheep glands...so I'm very glad it isn't an ingredient!) and SLS. I've been using this cleansing cream as a hand wash as I do annoyingly have eczema on my hands as well as my face.
The cleansing cream doesn't lather up, it's effective and it leaves my skin feeling soft, smooth and moisturising - it feels as though a moisturising layer (but not greasy) has been left on the skin which is great for my hands as they are perpetually dry!
*Cetraben Lotion (£7.99, 200ml)If you have dry skin, especially if you have eczema then you'll know just how important serums, oils and moisturisers are! I love my serums and face creams twice a day and I use hand cream as often as I need to which is very often as my hands are always so dry and uncomfortable. I've been using this lotion as a hand cream while at my desk and it's working so well!
I love the pump dispenser, especially as I'm using it as a hand cream. It feels almost like it has a whipped consistency as it's so light on the skin but it is still very smoothing and moisturising on my eczema prone hands. It's great as a hand cream because it absorbs quickly without leaving a thick heavy cream on the skin so I can get back to typing and editing photos very quickly.
*Cetraben Ointment (£6.99, 120g)Now onto my least favourite product of the four I've tried but just because it isn't what I'm looking for, that doesn't mean it won't work for you. This ointment is very thick, almost balm like and it feels very oily on the skin so it would be great to use on hands/feet overnight with cotton gloves/socks on so it can work over a prolonged time.
*Cetraben Cream (£4.99, 50ml)Last but not least, one of my favourite products from the range. The cream is a fantastic size for travelling with, it comes with a very handy pump dispenser and the cream to me is a richer, thicker version of the Cetraben Lotion. Again, I use it as a hand cream but also on other areas of eczema and general dryness. It takes longer to absorb but it is very smoothing and moisturising; it leaves my skin feeling much more comfortable which is so rare when I have an eczema flareup!
Overall, I really like this range of products, I think they are so effective and the price is amazing! The pump dispensers are so handy and I will continue to get so much use out of these products, especially the lotion, cream and cleansing cream. All of the products seem to be on offer online (superdrug/boots) so they are well worth trying. Overall rating: ★★★★☆, 4/5.
Have you tried anything from Cetraben? What are your current favourite skincare/bodycare products?

So pleased you have found something that works so well for you
ReplyDeleteI really like the sound of the cleansing cream, this sounds like a great range for people who do suffer from Eczema. When mine occasionally glares I tend to use Aveeno products which I find immediately help.

I've never heard of this brand before, but I'm really intrigued now as I also have a sensitive skin and if Eczema is behind me now, I also know it can come back at any moment if I don't take care of it!! The Daily Cleansing Cream sounds lovely, my hands tend to get so dry and sensitive with all the washes throughout the day! Lovely post :)
