HD Brows Eye and Brow Palette

HD Brows is a brand I've heard a lot about in the blogging community, their brow transformations at their salons and counters are incredible; I've also heard great things about their products too although until now I had no idea that they made foundations and lip glosses!

I have the *HD Brows Eye and Brow Palette (£25, Vamp) which contains a highlight shade, two brow shades (one cool and one warmed toned), a black wet/dry liner and a clear brow wax. The palette is a little chunky but it does have a large mirror and a soft double ended brush that I managed to loose after a few days. Doh.

The highlight shade is a peachy beige with minimal shimmer so much so that isn't really noticeable on the skin. The texture is smooth and it is easy to blend. It does match my skin well when blended so it is more of an all over lid colour than a highlight on my skin tone.

The brow shades are fantastic, I use the cool toned shade mostly as it looks really natural on my brows and it blends easily. The warmer shade is great when mixed with the cooler shade - my hair colour is always changing as the dye is fading and being refreshed so having a palette in which I can customise my own brow shades is so handy! The brow shades balance the line between being pigmented enough to add definition and to fill in gaps while not being too pigmented to look drawn on or to easily go overboard.

The liner shade is smooth like the others and it also contains very minimal shimmer but again it isn't noticeable on the skin. I've been using it as a liner on my upper lash line and even though it isn't the most pigmented black shadow by any means (when used wet or dry) it still looks pretty and smokey on the eyes - it blends so easily!

Lastly, I have only used one brow wax previously in an ELF kit and I hated it and this brow wax isn't the one for me either. The wax makes my brows look wet almost although this doesn't last and it doesn't hold my brows in place. I definitely prefer using a stronger hold brow gel rather than a wax but if you don't have wild unruly brows like me then it would probably be more effective.

Overall, I think this a great set especially for the price. The shades all work well as eyeshadows and the brow shades are fantastic - it's so handy to have them in a multi-use palette. The liner makes a basic smokey eye so simple and effortless however the brow wax just isn't for me personally. Overall rating: ★★★★☆, 4/5.
