Today I graduated from university with a first class honours degree in psychology - very happy! Well, I was insanely nervous before hand which was made worse with an impromptu outfit change ten minutes before we needed to set off! Typical.
I was going to wear my new black petite skinny trousers from Newlook and my white shirt, also from Newlook. But about half an hour before we were going to set off, we were told that dresses are allowed...So I had to change and I didn't know what dress to wear but I chose my Motel Rocks Navy 3/4 Length Sleeve Skater Dress which I love - with tights and wedges.

It was a good day - there was a precession through the town centre with a brass band (quite a few people were wearing super high heels and people were falling over on the cobbled streets - I am so glad I wore wedges). Then the ceremony started and we had to walk across the stage and shake hands with the dean of the university etc but all I could think about was 'don't fall Heather, don't fall! That will look so embarrassing'. I didn't fall! Overall, it went well and I got a teddy and the Zara Office City bag as a present from my parents.

Graduation tips for the girls:

*Don't wear high heels - wear wedges!
*Take safety pins and hair grips to secure your cap and gown
*Don't fall - that is pretty much the main one!
*If you can get a dress with pockets that would be great for extra grips/mirror/phone
*Long lasting heat proof makeup is a must (during summer graduations more so) and nude nails go with everything - I wore Essie 'Love & Acceptance'

  5. Congratulations, Heather! I am sure all your hard work will pay off!

  6. Congrats! You can always tell which items you love most when they are the ones that you reach for in a time crunch. Also, I love your tip about heels---graduation in Houston is sometimes rainy, and it's horrifying to see girls with their heels sinking into the grass.

Feel free to leave me a comment, I read all of them!
