Get On My Wick Lavender Candle

Saturday, June 08, 2019
Today's post is something I haven't actually posted about for a long time, candles! I used to buy and use candles constantly a few years ago but I haven't used any for a while especially as spring and summer aren't typically the season for candles (candles will always be a autumn essential for me). However, this gorgeous floral candle from Get On My Wick is a perfect spring/summer candle.

*Get On My Wick Lavender Candle (£7.50)
Get On My Wick is a new candle company based in Berkshire, England in which they make hand poured candles. I was very kindly sent their lavender candle to review although they also have two other scents to choose from including: amber noir and pomegranate and amber. The candle is made of 100% vegan soy wax which is so much better for the environment compared to polluting paraffin wax. Paraffin wax has been linked to toxic fumes that could potentially cause lung cancer and asthma so using beeswax and soy wax is definitely the best option.

The candles are 190ml which is a great small candle size and it comes in a cute, simple jam jar style container. I personally like the very minimal packaging design, especially when placed alongside my house plants. I also love the scent as lavender is one of my all time favourite scents - I find anything lavender scented to be very relaxing and calming.

Potentially due to the smaller size of the candle or the nature of the wax, it melts very easily and I haven't experienced any tunnelling or wasted wax while burning the candle so far, which is fantastic! The scent is lovely, as you would expect but it isn't quite as strong as I would have personally liked it to be. However, if you're looking for a unique, minimal and hand poured candle then look no further especially as it great to support smaller, independent businesses.

Will you be checking out their candles?
