A/W Beauty Trends: Sleep + Botanics

Friday, November 10, 2017
Today's post is a collaboration with and is inspired by a trend report from The Hut Group all about autumn/winter 2017 beauty trends taken from the runway and industry experts. The top beauty trends include: 24K masks, on the go beauty, Korean cosmetics, hydrogen beauty, colour innovation, natural glowing products and botanical focused beauty as well as sleep helpers.

I'm going to focus on the beauty and clean sleeping trends and products that can help! Additionaly, I wanted to choose these two trends as they are the most interesting to me, they fit with my lifestyle and the kind of products I love to use. Let's start with the sleep helper!
*This Works Deep Sleep Pillow Spray (£18, 75ml)
I have wanted to try the This Works Pillow Mist for so long and thankfully I've tried a tube or two within beauty subscription boxes this year and I fell in love with it so I'm really happy to have a full size version now. Over the past few years there has been an increase in wellbeing, sleep helpers and natural focused products as I think we're all becoming more aware of how using natural products is better for us and the need for self care is something everyone has to prioritise.

There are so many sleep and relaxation products out there but this is one of my favourites as I find lavender so incredibly relaxing and calming which is just what I need when I'm trying to sleep. The mist is so quick and easy to use, it isn't overwhelmingly strong and it definitely helps me relax and drift off to sleep quickly compared to when I don't use it. Sleep is so important, not only to help us feel refreshed and productive the next day but your body repairs itself as you sleep so try to get your eight hours with this dreamy pillow mist.
*Jurlique Sweet Violet & Grapefruit Hydrating Mist (£24, 100ml - Limited Edition)
The botanics trend is one I'm all behind as I have sensitive skin and I mainly use natural products within my skincare routine such as Antipodes. As with the trend of more self care products, the demand for natural, botanical inspired products has increased so much with more and more natural products on the market.

Jurlique is gorgeous, natural brand created by a husband and wife team (a biochemist and botanist respectively) with the aim "to create a pure and natural skin care range combining the ancient arts of alchemy, herbal medicine and homeopathy to reconnect people to nature". I've been using both products featured in this post for the past couple of weeks and I've been loving them especially this hydrating mist as the central heating and cold weather has been drying out my already dried out skin.

The bottle is just gorgeous, it smells lovely and the mist is perfect as a facial mist throughout the day or as a final moisturising step within your skincare routine before makeup to provide a smooth, hydrated base. I cannot recommend both products enough as they are ideal for this time of the year; they'd also be perfect within a self care Christmas hamper!

Have you tried either of these products? What do you think of the current AW17 beauty trends?
