Autumn Morning Essentials ft. Rombouts

Sunday, October 15, 2017
I'm a coffee drinker, I have been for years but it's become a necessity during the colder months! I love a big mug of coffee in the morning, usually with a little sugar or gingerbread syrup as it is not only warming but it's delicious and helps me start the day. I find that if I don't have coffee, then I won't be as productive and I'll just feel tried and sluggish all day which isn't very conducive to getting work done.

I was very kindly sent a box of coffee from Rombouts, if you follow me on Instagram (@ofbeautyand) then you will have seen the unboxing. As well as boxes of coffee I also received a cute cup and mini cafetière as well, which I have been using recently. Oh and I received a Rombouts tote bag and you can never have too many tote bags, I always use from them shopping and to store recycling in.
*Rombouts Single Origin Coffee - Cuba & Laos (£3.99, 227g)
I don't really use ground coffee as I think it is just too time consuming, I'd rather use instant coffee, especially pre-flavoured ones as they are quicker, easier and so delicious. However, I've started using these and I'm loving them even if they are a little more work. I have the Cuba medium roast and the Laos medium dark roast. I've been using the Cuba option the most as it is a little sweeter which suits me more and it's so nice with oat milk and a teaspoon or two of gingerbread syrup!
*Rombouts 10 One Cup Filter Coffees (£2.70 each)
I have tried these before and I loved them so I'm glad I have them again - I have the decaf medium roast, original medium roast, Italian style dark roast and the Colombian medium roast options. I love how quick and easy these are to use as you just shake the filter, place it on top of a suitable sized mug, add water to the fill line and let it filter though - they'd be great for the work place! I have been drinking the Italian style dark roast the most, again with oat milk and a little sugar which is perfect to wake me up on a dark, dull autumn morning when I just want to stay in bed all day!

I also received a pack of the *Rombouts Speculoos Biscuits (£1.59) which I think are Danish or Belgian biscuits with cinnamon so again they'd be perfect for autumn where pumpkin and cinnamon are everywhere (which I'm definitely not complaining about!). The biscuits were delicious, I love cinnamon, sugary biscuits and obviously they didn't last long enough to make it into the photos...oops!

As well as coffee, filling breakfasts such as Nutella porridge or butternut squash and sage pasta (yes, I have pasta for breakfast) are autumn morning and lunch time essentials. I find that reading a little when I wake up is such a nice way to start a dreary autumn morning as otherwise I'd be blinded by my phone and then be sucked into the procrastination vortex that is social media all morning!

What are your autumn morning essentials? Do you drink coffee? Have you tried Rombouts coffee?

  3. I'm a bit lazy so I do tend to go for instant coffee too but when I do make the effort to use coffee beans/ground coffee the taste is SO good, these sound lush and the gingerbread syrup as an add on sounds even better! I'm such a sucker for cinnamon too so those biscuits sound looovely! Best time of year for them :)
