Redken Color Extend Deep Attraction Mask

Sunday, February 15, 2015
When it comes to haircare, I do love a good drugstore bargain (Loreal have fantastic products, as does John Frieda) but I do like a few high end products in my haircare collection from brands such as Bumble & Bumble, Kerastase and Redken.

When I treat my hair with a high end, luxe product then it is usually going to be a conditioner, treatment or mask and that is what I'm reviewing today. I have the *Redken Color Extend Magnetics Deep Attraction Color Captivating Treatment (£13.20 on sale, RRP £22, 250ml) which has the longest product name in the history of haircare!

This is the first Redken mask I have tried so I didn't know what to expect but I have loved all of the Redken products I have tried, from shampoo, conditioner and their styling products. The packaging is simple and girly but I would have preferred a pump dispenser or tube as I don't like getting the mask under my nails and if you do use it in the shower/bath then after could get in. The mask has a gorgeous scent, it smells fresh and clean, like a expensive salon.

The mask is smooth and quick and easy to apply; I always apply hair masks/treatments to my hair when it is dry rather than damp or wet as I find it makes the treatment work so much more effectively and I can leave it on for longer. I keep masks on my hair for at least one hour before washing out which is what I did with this mask and it did leave my hair smooth and manageable; however I don't notice any effects in terms of the colour of my hair with regards to the longevity of my colour or enhancing my colour but it is supposed to be used with the shampoo as a system but I don't have the shampoo.

Overall, it is a nice mask and it does leave my hair smooth, tamed and manageable but it doesn't really affect my hair colour as far as I can tell but I should be using it with the shampoo and I've only been using it for a couple of weeks. I do love Redken haircare so this slightly disappointing product hasn't put me off trying more products from this brand.

Have you tried any products from Redken? Have you tried this mask?

  1. I really love redken and use the products to repair my straw like hair, but I found it actually brings out the bleach under my brown hair, but then perhaps that's because it's restoring the condition? Scares me a bit that it's stripping though xxx
