New Releases From Makeup Revolution

Tuesday, December 09, 2014
In my opinion Makeup Revolution can almost do no wrong! They have been on the ball recently with high quality new releases and these are no except. Makeup Revolution are so generous to bloggers, although this does not affect my opinions of the product sent for review/consideration, for more information on my personal disclaimer, click here

Firstly, the most exciting product (which is something I didn't think I would ever say) is the *Makeup Revolution Ultra Blush Palette in Golden Sugar (£6) which contains a highlighter, blushers and bronzers. All of the shades, apart from one matte bronzer, are all shimmery/metallic and when I say metallic, I really mean it! The highlighter is my favourite shade in the palette however all of the shimmery/metallic shades have a mega watt shine and glow to them - if you want super glowing skin, a radiant blusher/bronzer or a beautiful full on highlighter, then definitely pick up this palette, you will not be disappointed! Overall rating: ★★★★★, 5/5!

Next up, the *Ultra All Day Prime & Anti-Shine Balm (£5). This product is a bit unusual and not something I would necessarily buy, mainly as I have dry skin rather than oily. The product is supposed to be used as a primer after skincare, before makeup to help prevent shine, diffuse the appearance of imperfections and reduce the look of fine lines. On paper it sounds pretty good, if a little too good to be true. I have used this product a few times and I personally don't like it, I find it doesn't prevent the slight oil I get throughout the day on my t-zone. A bit of a miss from Makeup Revolution, in my opinion. Overall rating: ★★☆, 2/5.

The penultimate product is *The One Fluid Blusher in Pink Dew (£3) which I think is supposed to be similar to the Daniel Sandler water-colour blushers. This is the first liquid/fluid blusher I have tried and I'm sadly not very impressed. I like the colour on me, it is a light pink however it looks and feels oily/greasy on my skin even after shaking the bottle. Also when applying the blusher, it tends to move the foundation underneath it. Unfortunately another miss from Makeup Revolution which is so unusual as their products are always on point. Overall rating: ★★☆, 2/5.

The final product is a hit thankfully! It's their gorgeous *Redemption Palette Iconic Dreams (£4) which contains all the shades you will need for autumn/winter eye looks! The pigmentation is fantastic and the shades are beautiful; there is a mixture of shimmery and matte shades. The deeper purples, bronze and green shades are prefect. However, some of the matte shades do have some fall out and can be a little chalky/powdery. Overall rating: ★★★★☆, 4/5.

Overall, definitely a mixture bag of products with a couple of very disappointing new items but also a couple of amazing products too! I would definitely recommend the blush palette as well as the eyeshadow palette both of which are so affordable!
