June Favourites 2012

Monday, July 02, 2012
These are the products of the month of June that I have been loving. I have a couple of skincare products, some makeup products and a candle in this post. I have been loving neutral looks this month, well I like neutral looks most of the time, but this month I have been using these products non stop.

Simple Rich Replenishing Moisturiser (125ml, £3.89)
I just adore this moisturiser, it is a life saver for me - well a skin saver. This moisturiser does not irritate my skin at all, even when my skin was incredibly irritated due to eczema. As well as a fantastic basic moisturiser for my dry/sensitive skin; this moisturiser is also great when mixed with foundations to make them more moisturising (and slightly lighter).

Origins Ginsing Eye Cream (15ml, £21)
I purchased this eye cream in a value gift set from Debenhams (click here for a link to the Origins value set). The full size eye cream is 15ml but the one in this set is 5ml but it is still a lot of product and it comes in the same orange pot. I have been using this eye cream for about three weeks now and I really like it. This eye cream has tiny reflective particles in it which reflect light and make the under eye area brighter and in my opinion it makes the skin look really hydrated, moisturised and luminous. This eye cream does not irritate my skin at all, which is one of the reservations I had about this product but it is great.

EOS Summer Fruits Sphere Lip Balm (£4.85)
I purchased this product from eBay.co.uk as EOS products can be difficult to find in the UK but the link on the product name is a great site and it is in the UK. This product is a spherical lip balm which does look strange and quirky at first but it is a great lip balm. As this lip balm is a ball of sorts you can apply the lip balm all over the lips quickly and easily. The summer fruits flavour is smells nice but it does not really have a taste on the lips. It keeps my lips hydrated and smooth.

Yankee Candle World Journeys Danish Butter Cookie Candle, small tumbler (£7)
I already have a post on this candle which I will link here. Overall this candle smells incredible and the scent strength and longevity are also incredible! Although the wick runs out before you can melt all of the wax at the bottom of the tumbler, which is really quite disappointing as this candle is just gorgeous.

Real Techniques Expert Face Brush (£9.99)
I have been using this foundation brush for just over a month and I just love it! The bristles are incredibly smooth, soft and this brush applies/blends my foundations so well - with no/very minimal streaks. This brush is made to a really high quality, it washes well, it has not shed yet and it is just so quick and easy to use! The best foundation brush I have ever used (although I have not tried the coco beau foundation brush yet).

Avon Extra Lasting Lipstick: Totally Twig (£7)
I have not been able to stop using this lipstick from Avon. Firstly because the shade is gorgeous; I have the shade 'Totally Twig' which is a gorgeous rosy pink which looks natural, soft and summery. Secondly, the longevity of this lipstick is amazing! This lipstick lasts through eating and drinking really well and it wears off nicely too - it does not go patchy or flaky. When I receive the next Avon brochure I will definitely be buying more shades of the extra lasting lipstick!

Soap and Glory Lid Stuff Eyeshadow Quad: 'What's Nude' (£10)
Most of the time I wear neutral/natural shades of eyeshadow on the lid and this palette comes in so handy and the eyeshadows are of amazing quality, in my opinion. Firstly, the shades are gorgeous and they are great for everyday. The shades also apply and blend nicely too. The quality of these eyeshadows is demonstrated in the longevity and creaseless properties of this product. These eyeshadows last all day on me and I do not really need a primer!

ELF Cool Bronzer (£3.75)
Firstly, is it me or have ELF raised their prices slightly? Anyway, I found this bronzer on ELF and I absolutely love it! I have to search 'bronzer' on the ELF UK site to find it though. This bronzer contains four sections: a white, a rosy blush shade, a light brown and a medium brown. This bronzer is in the shade 'Cool' and it is all matte! I use the light brown shade to contour and it is great for my pale skin (just don't go over board with the contour!). I then use the white shade under the contour to sharpen the contour slightly. A fantastic product from ELF!
